Coming weather looks bad back there...snow in Tenn? Cold in Tx? cold in FL? We were at 39 this morning with fog...weird. I think I have seen fog maybe 8 times in 38 years.
The hail that came down yesterday afternoon was still half there at nine pm! Friend said she has never seen so much water so fast and never had yard flooded to the back door in 48 years.
Still under electric blanket with coffee and dog and no plans.

Climate change is an awful thing, Linda. We are 30° colder than yesterday, cloudy but no precipitation. Take care of yourself. I saw on the news that tickets to the OSU/Clemson game are $1500. No team is worth that to me. Good luck on the painting. I am lucky I can draw a stick figure.
Becky, I am a couple of years shy of the megaflu shot. I wish I had my Dad’s nativity set. It was handpainted from Italy. When my DM moved from the Bronx back to Kokomo it did not make the trio with her. She probably gave it to one of the aunts. Our male cat was the high flyer. I see your temps did a flipflop as well. You have to keep summer and winter clothes handy in your neck of the woods.
Kathy, I hope there are no further developments near you. A lot of the family farmers around here are selling out and then the developments go in.
Karen, did you make it to AF today? How are the knees holding up? Did you stop anywhere fun?
Liz, I hope you made it out of there for your PT.
I went to Kroger and am doing laundry, so it is an ordinary day. I found some paper whites at Kroger and brought them back for Iggy. He loves them. He would have a house full of fragrant flowers if not for my allergies.
I hear the incessant buzzing of the dryer. Off to work I go.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Linda Yes it is cold in Texas but your temperature was actually 2 degrees below our low.It has made it up to 44.The rain has stopped for now and it's still windy. We should be in the mid to upper 30's in the morning but it should get in the 50's.I doubt we will make it out of the 40's today. That electric blanket sure sounds good.
Chele We are 40 degrees colder than our high yesterday.By the weekend it should be in the low 70's again. It's definitely topsy turvy this year.I am sure your Dad's Nativity scene was beautiful. You are so right about keeping summer and winter clothes out.At least in the spring and summer I can put up the winter clothes.
Sometime between breakfast and dinner yesterday our propane tank that we use on the kitchen range ran out of propane. We were already in the process of getting ready to cook chili with beans and Kenneth had the 2# of ground beef in the regular skillet. He went to light the burner and nothing happened. He thought the lighter was out.So I went over there and I got the lighter to work but the burner wouldn't light. So we dumped the ground beef in the electric skillet and had to finish it up that way.I also scrambled eggs for breakfast in the electric skillet this morning. We found a break in the light rain and went to town and got the tank filled up.Kenneth reconnected it and now we can cook on the stove top again. It's just so much easier than having the big electric skillet out on the counter.
Waves to all.

Seems like crazy weather everywhere. It's 84 here and my AC has been running a lot today. I don't see any real cold weather in our forecast, but there are a couple of days with highs in the 60s predicted for next week. I have a few sweaters that don't get used that often, but I don't do the big summer/winter clothes switch that some of you do.
Chele, the developers just keep coming back every time they're defeated. There is already too much traffic for the rural roads around here due to the university. We've had the same thing happen with farmers and citrus growers selling out. You don't see as many cattle as you used to either, so I think a lot of that land has been sold too.
Linda, we've had some bizarre hail storms too the fast few years. My DM and I both saw sleet in July a couple of years ago!
Becky, glad you got the propane tank filled.
Today's Google doodle is addicting. It's kind of like a Mexican bingo game.

Linda, I hope the nasty weather moved out and you didn't have any damage. The cafe picture will definitely be a challenge, but it will be stunning when you get it completed. It's a lot more intricate than I was imaging due to all the people in the scene. Yes, you will have Clemson and Ohio State playing in your own back yard. Lucky you!! Yes, snow in TN. Every time I look at the thermometer it's colder than the time before. 39 with fog is definitely strange for your area. That was quite a picture with the hail. I'm surprised you had it for as long as you did. Has the fog moved out to clear up your skies at least? I've thought about getting an electric throw to use on the couch, but then I tend to have 4 legs and fur platered up against me much of the time providing some heat.
WOW, Chele, your temps have really dropped! I hope Iggy will enjoy his flowers. If I lived near the game, I might consider spending that much on a ticket. But not when I would have to factor in air travel and hotel. I did make it to AF today and the knees were creaky (probably weather related) but it went ok. After a stop at Aldi, I had a MG committee meeting to attend and then a couple more errands before heading home. That's such a shame that the family farmers are selling. I did hear that most of the money allocated to help farmers affected by Trump's trade war is going to farm corporations and not the small guys, which is very unfortunate.
Kathy, enjoy your 84. Highs in the 60s should be comfortable for you, especially with one of your seldom-worn sweaters. Nice that the area is so far holding fast on controlling development. Roads are such a huge consideration and I hope if the development eventually happens that the roads will come first. I saw something on the news about some kind of insect or disease affecting the FL citrus crop this year and the price of OJ going up. What have you heard there? When will you and DM go shopping again? I thought you said that people who didn't provide you with a list would have to settle for what you get them. I haven't opened a Google page today, so I'll have to check out the doodle.
Keep warm, Becky! It was about this time of year I was in Austin one December that they had a cold snap and I had to buy a new fleece to get through the visit. 40's is really cold for you for a high and 50's isn't much better. I have a nativity scene that was DM's as a child but haven't figured out where in storage it is. I also have a rather large one that has ceramic animals that she made and I have no place to display it. I remember the last time you ran out of propane. I wish there was a gizmo on it that you would know when you are running low. I think stuff tastes better cooked with gas. We had electric at the other house and it's just different here with gas. I don't seem to burn things as easily with gas either for some reason.
Liz, did you make it to PT yesterday evening? What kind of weather are you expecting? How has the commute been? Are you still doing cabs to and from GCS?
The NC house officially went on the market today. Already 350 views and 22 saves, with 2 tours today. I hope that will be a good omen for it to sell fast. The first tour was apparently someone looking for investment property so, naturally, they thought the price was too high. But then who isn't going to say the price is too high if they want to pay less? Our rain is starting to change to snow at the moment. The roads are still to warm for anything to stick to them, but the grassy surfaces and the deck are probably going to be white by morning. I got all my cards dropped at the PO today, so I just have to wrap Dale's gifts (and maybe Arya's) and I'll be ready for Christmas. It feels good to be early on things. Also feels good that Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner will be takeout, so no prep needed. Planning to stay in as much as possible for the rest of today and tomorrow and hope we don't get more than about an inch of snow.

Yikes on the snow, Karen. We don’t have any of that today. Ditto on gas vs electric cooking. Best thing we ever did was convert to gas a few years ago. It made me like cooking again.

Karen I hope the snow doesn't stick.Even with 100% chance of rain today we didn't get much. It's just messy. It was enough to rain in our kitchen window that leaks when it rains. It's just dreary and cold now.The rain is supposed to be gone by now but it's still cloudy. Then it's supposed to clear out and get in the 30's by morning and since it's 43 at 4:00 I don't doubt that.Kenneth normally keeps a check on the propane heaters.I asked him now that the stove top is working when was the last time he checked on the tank for the gas heater. He said he still needs to go out and cover up his chili pepper plant and he will check on that one.He can usually tell by how heavy or light it feels.Since we only use the other one for the stove top it doesn't use a lot of gas and it's been at least 6 months since we had to fill it.I hope it warms up some tomorrow by time I have to leave for PT.
Kathy It always gets hot here just before a cold front but we don't always break records like we did yesterday.I did have the ceiling fan on high yesterday but didn't have to switch to AC.Today the heater has been on most of the day.

Karen, the disease is called citrus greening and it is a big problem right now. There isn't a cure, so they try to get rid of the infected trees and plant healthy ones. The oranges on the infected trees aren't usable, so they've lost a lot of their crop. I think it's a problem in CA too, so it's on both coasts. DM and I are heading out shopping tomorrow. I have gotten some things that aren't from a list, but it's nice to have some surprises anyway. DS finally did give me a few ideas for her. Good luck with the house!
Becky, it starts getting humid here once it heats up, so the AC helps with that. I've had some days where I switched between heat and AC too. Hope it doesn't get too cold where you are. Stay warm!

The citrus infections has been around a while, especially in CA. Az no longer has much in citrus crop because irrigation got too expensive and developers wanted the land We lost a thirty foot grapefruit tree to it six years ago. Not so much cotton any mire either. Goodyear was built in cotton that the tire company used to use to make tires. Cattle used to be big, but they started to tighten up on the free range thing as it is destroying the land here, and we have been in a decades long drought.
Karen,Good luck. fingers crossed that it sells fast.
