Karen, may St. Joseph lend you a hand in selling your house. House investors are always looking to take advantage of someone. How much snow did you get? I forget. Are you doing Chinese takeout for Christmas?
Kathy, surprises are always good when it comes to presents. I usually buy a few of my own presents and wrap them. Otherwise there might be only one thing under the tree for me. Iggy usually gets me one great present, so I am not complaining. I just like opening presents and now my presents to me are a family joke. I had not heard of citrus greening. Just one more thing for the citrus growers to worry about.
Becky, I am glad you got your propane. I like our electric grill but you are right about the space it takes on the counter. I didn’t realize you broke a heat record Monday. How cold did you get last night?
Linda, are you going into the museum today? Have you got Bob’s and Micki’s presents wrapped? Are the thunderstorms gone?
Liz, I don't think we asked you if Wally and Zoe like to open presents or if they prefer just to be given their treats and toys. How is the week going so far physically and mentally? How is that cold? Is your boss over the bronchitis yet?
Iggy is going to Columbus today so I have to get the traffic and weather report for him and wake him up at 5 am. Clogged sinuses woke me up early, so I just got up. I am planning on a cooking day. I feel the need for Skinnytaste’s loaded baked potato soup and I am making beef tips for Iggy. Lots of chopping. As soon as Iggy is on the road I will do my workout and then get cooking.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Hard to believe Christmas is only 2 weeks away. Don't forget Kwanzaa is December 26th, which is also Boxer Day. Safe travels for Iggy today and I hope you found time for a nap, especially if the sinuses have't let up. Perhaps the potato soup will help clear things up for you. How much cooking did you get done? I have applesauce done, small red beans are in the IP, and right before dinner, I will make the oat groats. I'll pair that with a salad. When you buy your own gifts, you are sure you won't be disappointed. Christmas will be Japanese takeout. I also discovered that Marble Slab Creamery has miniature ice cream cakes, so I will stop at one tomorrow and place and order so I can pick them up next Thursday. They will wait in the freezer until Christmas dinner. I'm actually looking forward to having a good dinner without having to cook anything.
Becky, we got about an inch of snow and it didn't stick on the roads, which were kind of warm from it being 60 yesterday for the early morning high. How did Kenneth's chili pepper plant fare? Definitely keep that tank full for the heater because this is probably not the last of the cold you'll have this year. We have a hybrid furnace, so it runs off gas if the temp is below 40, which is has been since yesterday afternoon. I can tell by the feel of the air coming out of the register if we're running gas or electric. The gas air is so much warmer. We also have a gas dryer in addition to the cooktop, We only have to get it filled in the spring and I don't think we have used more than 300 gallons a year, so it's very economical. The generator also runs on propane.
Sorry to hear about the citrus disease, Kathy, and especiallly that there isn't a cure other than to remove the sick trees. I hope you and DM have a productive shopping trip today and I'm glad you finally got a little help with your list. Were you able to finish up or do you still have more to do?
Linda, I can't imagine how expensive irrigation has to be in the dessert. That was a good sized grapefruit tree that you lost. So sad. Having fresh picked fruit tastes so much better. Did you go to the museum today? Are you working on the cafe scene painting at home or just in class?
How goes the week, Liz? Three days down and 2 to go. Have you been getting to PT in the evenings? Have you managed to steer clear of all the germs at work? How are the pups and Gary doing? What will your Christmas schedule be, given that the big day is in the middle of the week?
Busy with cooking and laundry here today. Our winter clothes take up much more room in washer, so I have to do at least 2 loads a week this time of year, plus all the regular loads. Some of my sweat pants are rather ancient and are quickly wearing out, so I need a couple more pair so I can retire them before they completely fall apart. I am pretty set on tops, especially since I bought a Cuddl Duds hooded tunic last Thursday and got it washed up (I'm allergic to the chemicals they have in new clothes) on Monday, with the intention of wearing it in the mornings for a little extra warmth. With as damp and chilly as it's been, I have been wearing it over a long sleeve tee every minute I have been home during the day this week. I'm going back to Kohls tomorrow to get another one. It's probably not a great gift for those of you in the far south and west, but would be great for those in cooler climes. Kohls is only a couple of blocks from Trader Joe's and I need to go there tomorrow anyway. That will be after Osteo.

Arya is pretty in pink and in the snow. We only had snow flurries today. Soup done. Beef tips bubbling away. I did take a nap and woke myself up with my snores from clogged sinuses.

Great pink coat picture.
I am not a football person, but even if I wanted to go, the tickets for the bowl are way beyond $$$$.
Sun is back and normal upper 60s low 40s morning, our reward for hideous summer. So Micki got his mile pm walk, and the gel shots are kicking in because I get 3/4 mile before aching sets in, and need to get with the PT exercises again. Last shot is Friday.
The French wine beef turned out well. Tonight is turkey divan, lightened up version. then the beef leftovers tomorrow.
Finished my current project of old city arts festival photos, extra time because my Questers Xmas party is next Wed, then Xmas and New Years Day are wed, so Jan 8 before I get back.

Chele, thanks for the early start. I love the idea of wrapping your own presents! Do you remember what they are by the time you open them? I'd probably forget and be surprised. We usually do a lot of smaller gifts rather than one large one, so we have a lot to open. The citrus growers haven't done well here between the freezes, citrus canker disease and now the citrus greening. It used to be a pretty drive north of here up I-75 with all the citrus groves, but they are mostly gone now. That baked potato soup always sounds so good. Hope the sinuses improve. Don't forget about Festivus on the 23rd!
Karen, I did get a lot done today, but I'm not done yet. I think we're doing one more shopping session this weekend and that will be it. Cute picture of Arya! How does she like the snow?
Linda, it was a rainy, dreary day here and our temps dropped into the 60s. Quite a change from the 80s of yesterday. Once the rain moves through, it should be nice. I haven't been to a bowl game for many years, but they have gotten crazy expensive.
Waving to Liz and Becky.

Thanks for the start Chele.Kenneth and I pick out our own Christmas gifts then we each get a surprise for each other.I think it got down to 39 this morning. They were predicting 34 but thank goodness it wasn't quite as cold.It warmed up to 56.I think we are expected to get in the upper 30's again in the morning.Waking up so early I hope you were able to nap.I wake up usually around 4:00 but sometimes I'm able to fall back asleep until 5:00.Then I get up and turn the coffee maker on.
Karen Kenneth didn't say anything about the plant so I guess it did okay especially since it didn't get as cold as they predicted.I wish we had a Kohl's.I have been ordering pullover sweaters from Macy's and getting good deals on dress pants and tops at Bealls. Last week they had 50% off most of their merchandise plus they were giving double rewards for their rewards members.Oh Arya is pretty in pink.
We had to go to HEB this morning and Kenneth got through outside early this morning so we decided to go there before PT.My hamstrings and IT bands are still tight and the therapist was a little concerned about that.Since my hips are also weak she had me working on that and I'm sore because of that. She also wants me to do my stretches 2 x day instead of once a day.
Waves to all.
