Good COLD (-1) Tuesday... are you ready to TRACK YOUR TUESDAY! I have NO CLUE what my day will bring - in terms of eating... forgot to get the produce! My mind was on Christmas dinner... so this week was "forgotten"!! HOW??!? Does one do THAT! SO.....sounds like a grocery store trip is on my agenda tonight after work! Ugghhh.... Still need another trip to FINISH Christmas dinner...the week is not long enough.... Yesterday was JUST what I needed...got a lot of things crossed off my list... not the wrapping... but it will get done! I managed to EMPTY the hampers... got the dishes done - got the whole downstairs (except the dining room) "CLEARED"... De- clutter-ed... Ken did a lot of trips up to the attic and down to the basement... thank goodness he was here with me most of the day. What I did NOT get done was anything for Christmas...LOL... no wrapping, no work gifts made... oh I DID get the rest of the decorations about the living room, and then the rest of the totes I out away! I figure with only a week until Christmas - it's enough... not worth the stress!! OH! LOL I also got my front entryway closet cleaned out! There is a PILE of coats in the entryway NOW, that Tracy has to go through... I swear she has more coats/fleece/sweatshirts than any one human needs.... and those are just the ones IN the closet!! He did have his dentist appointment, then he actually got a DOCTOR appointment... he has had a nagging cough for so long now... sounds like he did when he had his CLOTS...come to find out he has some fluid in his right lung, so on an anti-biotic... and cough syrup... so hopefully THAT will help... One MAJOR area was "cleaned up", the back room... NOW when folks come in the back door there is a place to hang coats... drop boots... and guess what else I "found"..... YES MY ELLIPTICAL!!!! LOL It no longer has boxes/totes piled on it... I swear I was drowning in the clutter!!! So today I will gather a list... and "see" if Tracy has time to shop... then I can just come home from work and get into making my Chai & Hot Chocolate for my co-workers. Thanks again to our Sue for those recipes... they are a sure hit with the gals I work with!! I bought cute mason jars a few weeks ago...so that's my "project" for tonight/tomorrow... The Open House for DH former employers is Thursday evening now... had planned a trip to get nails done, now re-thinking that... would rather go to the mall, but feel I need to be at the Open House... then again, I am hearing in my head...NOT MY FAULT the date got changed...hence the "re-thinking" not the "change of plans"! LOL OH I just feel SO GOOD about everything right now... it is TRUE, that the clutter in my life - DOES lead to unhealthy eating habits!! I wish I had the whole week OFF, but since I don't... I am even thinking I don't mind going to work today... feeling good about a lot of things... just.needed.the.day.for.ME.!!

Still having internet/Verizon issues... but will have Matt look at my computer this weekend... meanwhile, life goes on...
Sue: YAY to the day not being too hard on you... this week will FLY BY even without Rita there, and before you know it - she'll be BACK! Oh Sue {{{{{hugs}}}}} sorry this season has been so hard on you - I think missing your DD has a lot to do with it... all of "it" is SO OVERWHELMING... you'll get there... I know you will.
Hey, did you see I asked about Sunday April 2, 2017?? If you are up for it, Ken, Tracy & I may swing by on our way South....just a thought...:-)
Lisa: Awww, sorry DD cancelled the party!! How nice though to start the New Year with a family celebration! Oh yes, a large crock pot is awesome! It will hold a nice roast with veggies, and you get leftovers!!
We have Verizon as our home phone/internet service... I think what bugs me the most is the lack of OPTIONS! They would be easier to work with (maybe) if they knew I could "switch" if I wasn't happy...
Now I have gotten 2 phone calls (land line) from a strange number, and name on caller ID, so we don't answer... in his voicemail that he leaves he says he's with Verizon... Sorry but if Verizon is calling me, why would caller ID say Ricky Something??
Good for you picking up the extra hours... y es Christmas has a tendency to throw off our "budgets"!

Oh SUE! Oh no... ya' know some folks don't do more than just lights on the tree... until Christmas Eve... when do you have family over? Maybe let everyone "help"...
Jo: Hmmm, I thought it was a book on Amazon, apparently not... will have to do more searching later, but thanks!
Sue: I sure hope you got some sleep last night... I took Nyquil... feel fine but wanted to sleep!

Carole - Hooray for feeling so good emotionally/mentally today!!! So glad your Monday was so productive...wow, you did get a lot done! It does make going to work today bearable knowing how much you got accomplished Good Job! Oh, I'm so glad DH Ken got himself to the doctor - fluid in his lung is not a good thing. Did you know he planned to go or did he take care of it on his own? My DH is supposed to have blood checked every 3 months - well, the doctor's office mailed him a letter reprimanding him he has not gone in since April! Geesh...he drives me nuts, his basic denial. So, tomorrow he will get his blood drawn and on his own he made an appointment for himself with family doctor to review the results. He's been borderline diabetes for a year now and I just shake my head how deep in denial he is... I have a TON of old winter coats/fleeces to donate too - on my 'to do' list for next week...

Sue - sorry this Christmas holiday feels so overwhelming to you - I totally get it. I think the pressures at work and how crazy busy you are there drags you away from thinking/planning what needs done at home and that's where the feeling of "not enough time to do it all" comes from - Sorry! I think many of us here have been in your shoes - you are so right to just do the Tree another time IF it gets done at all - I like Carole's suggestion of having family help on Christmas Eve - I know you love keeping it up through January so there's plenty of time yet to enjoy it!
Nadine - Good Morning! YES! The peanut butter filled kong is very helpful to keep them busy...we still do that with some of Colby's rawhides/bones...find a corner and fill it with PB...last week DH soaked her chew toys in the leftover juices from a Roast I made in crockpot - that worked awesome! It's hard this time of year as it's way too cold to go outside for a walk (7 degrees, brrr)

Carole - glad you slept well last night. DD18 Lindsey takes Zzzzquil at school - due to stress, and a loud snoring roommate - she also wears earplugs to help with that noise factor Jo - oh so glad to read the washer was working again! Strange how it just stopped last weekend but who cares why, at least you can do a few more last minute loads! I might look into your suggestion of "Real Weight Loss for Real Women" - thanks for sharing. And WOW to the huge amount of $$ for Heather's Half Size Me program - that is way too much - I would buy a new piece of exercise equipment and build a home gym before paying THAT lol Sorry about DS changing your family recipe to make it vegan - can someone else make same recipe 'regular' and have it on the side? I think you mentioned others were making cornbread stuffing, or their own recipe but maybe for next year? Just a thought... I spoke with DSIL Carrie (Gary's sister) and she is totally exhausted and upset with their mother and her behavior lately - she lived with Carrie for about 3 years until Carrie found this great community home with round the clock aides - beautiful ranch home she shares with 2 other women. Well, DMIL has been acting up, very mean, verbally aggressive, makes the other women cry, so the aides call Carrie to come talk to DMIL who gets mean to Carrie - according to DH it's not dementia, their mother has always been like this - I have seen it too but wow that she is just letting loose on those housemates! Anyways, no one wants to gather the entire family together for Christmas Day - Carrie has just had it! - so I started a Group Chat text messages and suggested (because of my recent knee surgery) we gather for dessert at their Mother's house on Christmas Day - then on the side I told Carrie to join us after for glass of wine and some R & R at our home!! She almost cried with relief - that is exactly what her family would love to join us. Minus their mother and older brother (who just doesn't like us)...

Christine: Being laid up as you are, I can't imagine NOT eating the cookies! Hang in there... as you start to heal more - you will get active again... how is the pain? Are the exercises helping?? So now you are not "on crutches"... what will you be able to "do" at home this week?? I hope you still take the time to rest and heal, so after the holiday you can return to work - pain free... I am guessing it won't be "pain free"... but hoping for less pain than in the past...
So my plan today is....make something eggy for breakfast... I have leftover beef stew i can take for lunch... I have almonds and cucumbers and (maybe) yogurt for snacks... plenty of water and hot tea... then dinner is in the hands of DD, so I do need to watch my eating during the day! LOL She seems to steer towards Mexican AKA SODIUM!
Wishing you all a HAPPY TRACKIN' TUESDAY!! ♥hugs♥

Lisa - sounds like DF cancelling Christmas dinner was a bit of a relief after all - it can get stressful and seriously, when some family members act like it's such an inconvenience I too would just cancel it all...sorry about the weather - how's it lately? I see lots of icy conditions on and off - we got more snow then expected yesterday and COLD but nothing that would slow us down Maybe just you and your kids can bring Kennedy and celebrate a nice meal with your DF? Might be less overwhelming for him too...yikes to going over budget on Christmas gifts - SAME here! - thinking of returning a few things before this weekend as those little things add up! Jenny - how are you? Hope work is calmer lately - I see some pretty scary SNOW storms being predicted in your area on Christmas weekend - hope they are wrong and it just fizzles out. Have you been going to your gym with this weather so crazy? What day is Audrey's last school day before Break? Our school goes through this entire week - Friday Dec 23 - my Girls are still adjusting to the no classes/no have to do's and are finding it 'weird' that the neighbor kids are still going to school each day. LOL

Yesterday was a busier day than most: Heavy snow kept coming down making visibility poor and roads covered. DD20 had her 1st scheduled Chiropractor appointment so I drove her - hey, it got me out of the house and I didn't have to do much plus she felt better not having to drive in such a mess - Carly's hip keeps popping out much like it did during Dance - chiropractor is doing deep massage to loosen things up and decrease so much tension there from previous Dance injuries (over stretched tendons from ballet). Afterward I drove her up to TJ Maxx to pick up a few last minute gifts. I stayed in one department as I knew not to push it walking around too much. Then I drove over to Delta Sonic where Carly ran in to buy some good deals on gift cards (3 free car washes plus TGIFriday's free entree's) package deal. She picked up 2 - one for our family and one for Gary's white elephant Christmas gift. Drove her down to the mall - dropped her at the doors as she dashed in to buy Bath and Body sale items - yikes! way more money spent in there even with coupons! lol That put a dent in our budget...afterwards we went straight home. I iced my leg, took a nap while she went to grocery for some much needed dinner items. Roads had cleared up by then... My very dear friend called me around dinner time - she just received our Christmas Card and was nostalgic - it was great to catch up with her - but after an hour I had to get off phone to prep dinner LOL Rottisirie chicken, spinach salad, cut up apples/cheese and fresh bread - picnic for dinner! All tracked...

So today will be busy too: had planned this day all month knowing I would be off from work - Carly is dropping me off at our local public library and I am meeting 2 different families throughout the day to do some testing - why not? - no walking involved, just sitting (can do seat stretches) and working with the students. Should be done by 3:00 then can start typing up reports for my side job Work has been emailing me - did I tell you the Prince CALLED me on my cell phone 2 hours after my surgery to ask about a signature page he was trying to track down!!! I let it go to voicemail than immediately text my one administrator friend - she was appalled! Told me to rest and she would tell our CEO he had done that...crazy...

Good morning:
Wow, wow, wow....am I ever out of touch! I think that I have spent a total of one hour (over the last two days) reading back posts, taking notes, and preparing to post on here. So much is going on! I know that we all love the holidays, but it also puts a lot of stress out there! I did wind up biking on Sunday and was VERY careful but I have NEVER been so cold as I was at the end of that ride. My fingers are still itchy from having been so cold. Still enjoyed the sunshine....
I am working through tomorrow and there is hardly anyone at our office so it is nice and quiet. Don't know if I mentioned it, but my sister and her two young boys are staying at my mom's until tomorrow (she came up last Friday). Meeting them for lunch today and then driving with them tonight to see Christmas lights in some neighborhoods. Did a spin class last night with a sub instructor--he was HARD! It was a good-hard though!
I was wondering about the cost of the HSM...first of all, I only paid $1 for the first month and then a monthly fee after that (I will look it up...maybe $19.95?). Someone said $41 for the first month and I guess I lucked out on that one. Also, starting at $295/month for 2 calls? Hmmm....I wonder if that is all that it is? Wow, who can afford that!!?? Anyway, if they do cap the community I will be glad to be there and I think that it is worth it --- thinking about maintenance and not always losing.

Good Morning
Well I'm back to work and the snow is gone thank goodness, I can't afford to many day's off like that. Good thing we got our bonus to tide us over. I have a few gifts to pick up for Audrey on my way home from work tonight and she will be done shopping for. I got DH done yesterday. I got him some new jeans and work T-shirts he never ever goes shopping for himself, so I did it for him. I got him a new Leatherman tool, his was confiscated at the airport cause he forgot and wore it, so he's never replaced it at all and that was almost 10 years ago. Like I said he doesn't like shopping at all. Siobhan came over and we had home made nacho's and watched "The Santa Clause" last night and had some wine, she can't drink around her husband anymore, cause he just recently started going to AA, that's what his problem was. We had a girls night. Tonight Michael Bubble' special is on and Tony Bennett, my favorites.
Carole so happy you got some things done around the house yesterday and DH got some antibiotics. Fluid on the lungs sounds like pneumonia, not good to have around Christmas time. We are just making appetizers for our dinner on Sunday cause everyone usually fills up on those and then is to full to eat dinner so we changed that on Christmas, I'm making pulled pork sliders and just stick a pork loin in the crockpot and make coleslaw and cheese to go on top of the sliders and that will be yummy. I'm also making bruschetta and bringing a shrimp tray and that's it. For my in-laws side it's just green bean casserole and that's easy.
Christine sounds like your doing well and getting around well also, good for you. Our snow is gone and it's just going to rain for Christmas day, we like that forecast better than snow. I filled out my waiting week for unemployment in case it snow's again later on this winter and we can't get to work, I'll have my waiting week in already and can get compensated for my time off. Watch now that I said that it probably won't snow again.
Sue I made two batches of peanut brittle and loved them, I think my microwave runs hot thought cause the first batch tasted like it was borderline burnt but it was fine when we ate it. Yummy, thank you for the recipe. Sorry your day was tough on Sunday...
OK hello to everyone who follows got to get back to work
Jenny

Today our low was only 31 degrees (it's been in the 20's) so I am happy. Our office never gets above 67 degrees though and I am so tired of being cold. I wear a big coat all day long....I know, no whining after seeing what they are dealing with all over the east coast! Carole: I was so glad to read about how much you got done yesterday! Sounds like a perfect day. Glad that Ken went to the doctor too...I'll get that he'll realize how worn down he was with that once it is clearing up. Glad that he could help you with the stair climbing. Hey, I look forward to a picture from the top of that hill one day, but don't do it during a blizzard or anything! LOL, I can see you and Eden stumbling in the snow---didn't mean for that to happen! I love your gifts for the girls--car seats are so expensive! Maybe you can buy them stickers to "decorate" them as well (Eden can decorate Zoe's too I love the story of Eden liking grandma's oatmeal. Made me smile! I am in agreement with you--I function so much better when I am not buried in clutter. I am not perfect at keeping it picked up, but I do a little almost every day as soon as I get home. I used to be the person who thought, "I may as well wait to do it until I can do ALL of it." now I am more inclined to be grateful to just make a dent in it. I need to be better about enlisting the help of the boys with it (since less than 1/2 of it is mine). So, I confess to paying for a person to come to my house for a few hours every month to REALLY clean the floors, windows, and bathrooms. About 20 years ago, when I became an administrator and the boys were young, I decided that I would set aside about $60 per month for this since I would be away from home so much. I have continued that since then--it is my gift to myself. Trust me, there is still PLENTY of cleaning and laundry to do each weekend though! Hope that today is going well---love your mason jar gift idea! No wonder they like it.
