This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends.
Looks like everybody must be busy this morning. It's weird and foggy and misty here today. High of 48 and low of 45. Unless the fog clears I won't be going out in search of mushrooms. Maybe that meal will either that meal will either have to wait or morph into something mushroom free.
We actually have weekend plans! Yipeeeeee! Sunday DH and I are going to lunch and an afternoon movie. ExDSIL can't meet us for lunch, but can make the movie, so we'll be seeing her as well. Yay!! We're seeing Richard Jewell. We were in ATL when the Olympic Park bombing happened, and in fact were at the park the night before the bombing and again 2 nights afterwards. It will be interesting to see how the movie portrays all of the key players. Clint Eastwood directs this and all of his others over the last 15 years or so have been so well done and very thought provoking, so hopefully this one holds true.
I really do need to figure out supper (and something for lunch. Hahaha). But first....MORE COFFEE!

Wow... is something wrong with my computer or is Lora the only one who has posted today? It has been a very busy day for me (what else is new?)... I did get to my gym class, got a haircut, made it to the grocery story TWICE, and ran several other errands before heading to the clubhouse this evening for HH which ends up being dinner also on Friday evenings. Tomorrow morning I have to be at the church by 7:45 to register volunteers for blood donations...I also hope I will be able to give (that there is a slot into which I can fit AND that the prescription strength NSAID I took on Wed and Thurs does not keep me from doing so.
Waving to Lora and anyone else who may stop by this evening......

Happy Friday everyone,
Although it is almost over, at least we have the weekend here. I sure wish I didn't have to work tomorrow, but I am grateful for the hours, so I am not complaining. The weather is supposed to be pretty lousy, and it will be quite chilly out there. It was really foggy here today, too, and just cold and drizzly all day. Work was not too busy, which is unusual for a Friday, but we did close at 12p, and I made a trip to Lowe's for some things I've been needing to get my painting started here in the house. I had a $45 card that I got as a rebate when I bought all that paint in September (that I painted the pool house with, and the white satin for the trim here in the house), so after it all rang up, I only had to pay $8.00. Then I went on to the work party and it was really fun. Lots of food and we had a really good turn out. We did a gift exchange, where everyone draws a number, then we go in order picking a gift, and if someone wants to "steal" your gift they can...I can't remember what you call it. It was lots of fun. I ended up with a $25 Starbucks gift card, and I will make use of that. The doctors gave each of us a very generous bonus, too, which was a really nice surprise. I think my cake turned out ok, but I didn't eat any. I brought home about half of it, so I might take a piece for my co-worker and one for myself tomorrow. My YDD is coming over on Sunday, so I will send some home with her. That way, I won't have to throw any away. I am just not that interested in it, for some reason. Not craving sweets these days, it seems.
Lora, sorry you weren't able to get the mushrooms. Darn it! I hope you figured out a good substitute, or a good alternative recipe. I know whatever you make will be great! I've been seeing the trailers for that movie. We were living in Augusta when the Olympics were in Atlanta, and I was riding at a stable where most of the horses were being kept, as they were being transported in to the area from all over the world, to get acclimated and ready for the equestrian events, so I feel a small connection to the whole thing, as well. It was so surreal. Oddly enough, I was living in Stuttgart, Germany when the Munich Olympics were going on...when the terrorists killed those athletes, Dad's "red phone" rang, and he was given word that they had escaped and were headed our way. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your lunch date and the movie, and spending some time with your exDSIL. Hope the weather is a little better for you, too. I'm going to pack up some breakfast and lunch for tomorrow, and set out my uniform. I think I'll head on to bed soon...I hope it isn't busy tomorrow. I HATE running calls in the rain, getting patients into the ambulance without getting drenched, etc. I might be back tomorrow, but in the mean time, I am waving to all, and I hope everyone has a really good weekend, RobinMD
