Finally back home! My niece and I planned to meet at a Coney Island but then I noticed a Qdoba (Mexican) right nearby and I had a B1G1F coupon and no one to share it with. I called her and she was willing to make the change, so I "bought" her lunch (LOL) and we enjoyed it very much. We sat and chatted for a couple of hours afterward which was much enjoyed. Afterward I went to Meijer and fulfilled my shopping list. I finally have all the ingredients for my Christmas Eve goodies as well as the "necessities" of milk and eggs, etc.
Carolyn ~ We have school for 3 days this week. Yesterday we stayed indoors and today they had outdoor recess. I only had to go out for the last one (K/1st) for about 20 minutes. It was cold and slightly windy but the sun was shining. After tomorrow we are home until 1/2/17. Yay!! I loved your description of the hummingbirds. I could actually "see" them! Funny about 50 dg because my DH just told me it's supposed to be 52 here on Monday (what???)
Judy ~ CONGRATS!! Another 2 lbs?? You are definitely "in it to win it" and you are an inspiration. I will be going for my monthly WW WI tomorrow afternoon - meeting VBF there and then adjourning to Starbuck's for a coffee & chat hour. Looking forward to that very much!!
Kathryn ~ So sorry to hear about the misfortune of your friend! Especially sad at this time of year. Yay for your lined pants! I use polar fleece leggings underneath my jeans on cold days and they feel SO GOOD!! Two of my co-workers recently told me they bought/ordered Cuddle Duds because I rave about them. I had on microfiber ones today but since I was only out 20 minutes, they did the trick.
Kathy ~ Glad the move is so close. I "hear ya" about not wanting packers handling my personal stuff. When we moved, I just took the drawers out of the dressers and chests, tucked a large towel or sheet around the contents, then when we got to our destination I removed the cover and slid the drawers back in place. It also got the sheets and towels moved without packing them separately. You'll do great!
I used to bake "back in the day" when we had a business and I would make dozens of cookies and make up decorated cookie gift boxes (about a dozen or so) and DH would take one day and deliver them and wish everyone "Merry Christmas". That diminished over the years and especially since we quit eating them he suggested I save myself all that time, and we quit. But it is still a happy memory. My DN brought us a beautifully decorated box of homemade Christmas cookies today for which we are very grateful. I bought us a small box of Peppermint Bark for a treat (a fave of ours) and DH brought home a can of malted milk balls from the neighborhood hardware store. They keep their source a secret - and they are THE BEST I've ever eaten! I put all our sweets underneath the Christmas tree for now. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas......"
I better go put supper together and feed my honey. Talk to you all tomorrow.
