This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning All...Well, I was up, dressed, and out the door to head to the church because I thought perhaps I left my glasses there last evening, BUT thought I would make one final check in the car and there they were on the floor hidden by a bag on the passenger side...guess it was so dark when I looked last night that I didn't see them. So, since I am up and dressed, I will run to Walmart, Kroger, and Fresh Market. I did so well eating yesterday, and then almost blew it last night. However, I was able to reign myself in finally...jeesh.
Today I am taking DGD to the open house at Virginia House (part of the Virginia Museum History and Culture), so she can get more extra credit...and you know I LOVE to share my enthusiasm for history with her. The historic homes decorated for Christmas are beautiful anyway. This evening we have a pot luck and "house concert" at the clubhouse in the next community.
OK..hope you all have a great Sunday...off and running.

Wow, Susie, your energy level amazes me! Sounds like such a fun day today, but chock full.
Good morning all. I am going out to breakfast at Panera with DN and then I have a hair trim and color at 11. This afternoon I need to get to the supermarket and the gym. The supermarket is tricky this week because I leave next Sunday and really don't want to have to throw food out, but I generally do no matter how hard I try. Will try not to nap today so I can sleep tonight, but that doesn't always work out. Looks like we're in for another storm starting tomorrow evening during rush hour (of course) so I know there will be decisions to make about office openings and closings. Ugh.
Have a great day, all.

Hi Everyone, Last night was okay. Nothing really exciting really and people clung to their own groups of people. Last year we had less people so it seemed more sociable because we all were playing the same games. It is what it is. Today definitely planning to get to the gym for a bit and stop in the Giant nearby for a few things. Come home, eat some lunch and shop for my friend and get a few things for me. This week is the holiday show for the parents. My teaching partner collected donations from them for t-shirts and reindeer antlers head pieces for the kids. They are singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Each class takes a turn to sing followed by lunch in the hall behind our center. Since our class usually goes first as we are room 1 a lot of our parents dont want to hang around for the lunch. A lot of times after everyone leaves we get to leave early too. After doing my stuff this afternoon and some vacuuming I want to start reading my book. That is about it. Back to Paradise tommorow. This past Friday we lucked out as both kids who are really a real pain didnt come due to the early dismissal.

Hello everyone,
I am just now getting here. It has been a busy day, but I did get a good bit done. I didn't get home until about 9:00 last night, due to a late call, so I stayed up pretty late and slept really good. I vacuumed my whole downstairs, mopped the floors, dusted, and then went up and pumped the rain water off of the pool. We are supposed to get more rain, and some amount of snow tonight into tomorrow. In this area, you really never know what is going to transpire, weather-wise, until the last minute. It will be interesting to catch the latest reports tomorrow morning. My doctor is not going to be there tomorrow, so I will be doing other office duties all day. And its my late day, so I will spend 10 hours filling time with whatever I can find to do. Lots of phone calls and "putting out fires". This afternoon, my YDD came by to start up her camper, drive it around town a little, and then parked it for the winter. She brought her dog over, so my Duchess was thrilled to have her play buddy back! After a while my ODD came by so we all had a nice visit, and hung out a while. It was nice. And I gave them both the rest of that cake to take home, so I didn't eat any, and didn't have to throw it away! Now I am just relaxing with my feet up, and a glass of wine (Janet, it is Moscato, my favorite!). I am making a chicken Caesar salad for dinner. Not sure about lunch for tomorrow yet!
Janet, I would see a general surgeon for the hernia. That is who we refer our hernia patients to. I hope you enjoy your newest book. I just love to read, and you guys make me want to make more time for it. I have so many books of my own that I want to read, without even going to the library! The kids will look cute in their reindeer headpieces...I hope you do get to leave early. Susie, I hope you have a great time with DGD...my DGM and I shared a love of history, and we made lots of day trips to places. One place I loved was Old Winston-Salem, where there is a part of town that is very much like Williamsburg. It was always fun to go there with her. We would always stop at the Moravian bakery last, and take home a bag of Moravian sugar cookies! My dad did things like that with ODD...just before he died, he was up here and asked me to let her go with him to Sharpsburg, to go through the battlefield (and she would have to miss school). I didn't even hesitate to let her go, and she told me that she treasures the memory of that day, and how much fun they had. He was such a lover of history, too, and shared his knowledge in such a fun and interesting way. All the grandkids love history!
Andi, I hope you enjoyed your lunch at Panera. I just love their food. I hope you don't get hit too hard by the storm. I have not heard details on what is going to happen up north. I hope you sleep well tonight! So frustrating, I know. Well, I am going to go put this salad together and plan on getting to bed at a decent time tonight. I have to figure out something for lunch, but you know, it might just be a can of soup and some crackers and a fruit. Breakfast will be something simple. Maybe oatmeal. I hope everyone has a good start to the week. Stay safe if you are in for bad weather! Waving to all, RobinMD

I did get to the gym. I spent way more time than I planned to doing stuff for my friend. 😑 I realized that I forgot to get her cereal so ended up going back into the store for that. Then I went over to this other store for me but realized that I hadnt given her back her debit card.( At this particular store they never even bother to check.) Luckily I wasnt very far from her. It just really felt like forever tho. Her husband isnt even getting around yet. I wish that they would order from somewhere as I really dont like doing this every week. I feel a bit guilty tho knowing they need help and I am just doing something else. His son would order some things for them them but according to her he hasnt been talking to him much lately. I did tell her in advance that when my sister and brother in law come from Isreal that I may not be able to shop for her during that time. Robin thanks for the info about what type of doctor to see. I think I may know of one place that I went to once that would do that. At least maybe I would think of maybe making an appointment to see what he thinks even if it isnt at the stage where I would necessarily have to do anything yet about it. Good night!
