Good Morning Chicks and thank you for the start Chele. Just wanted to check in with all quickly. It was a terribly icy morning up north with my car encased in ice. It's all rain right now in the city but very chilly and raw. Chele - hope you rested some while Iggy is out of town. How are the sinuses and head doing this morning? Are you all set for the holidays now? I think it really didn't occur to me that this weekend is the weekend before Christmas ! Am going to try to get to the dentist this afternoon if mother nature doesn't try to kill me. I had a front tooth break last Mon., lost the bridge and have another tooth loose. I'm thinking dentures are next (sigh). Becky - sorry to hear that the leg is hurting you so badly! The weather can and will do that to us with challenging joints! Wonderful picture of you in your avatar; you look great!! Kathy - did the launch get off last night? Is the weather holding so far today? Any plans for this week? Linda - take care of that finger; lousy place for a cut and as you stated, easy to have reopen! How's Micki doing this week? Good that you managed to get to the bank and get some cash. Technology is wonderful as long as it works! Karen - Love Cactus Jack! So cute and you did a stellar job! How are you feeling today? Still tired? How's the crazy weather down there? PT was last night and went pretty well. I am intending to stop after this week as I am not sure it's really providing any substantive help now and after working 10 hours, I am tired and not really excited about doing PT. I am overall good but I am still listing to the right side when I walk. The right leg is the shorter leg and I also need to be more mindful of how I am walking. Crossing fingers, toes and all appropriate appendages that things go well with the sale of the old house. It is a good plan to continue showing as a possible contingency. Nice harvesting of the mushrooms! I have much to get done this morning and am trying to leave by noon to get up north for the dentist. Stay safe and keep warm and dry dear ladies!! Ciao for now~

Liz, good luck and Godspeed. You need to make it to the dentist. I would be worn out to after a 10 hour day plus the commute.
How is the finger today, Linda?
Karen, how is your finger today? Did you get any rest? How was AF today? It can’t hurt to keep showing the house. Who knows if the bidders will get their financing, but I hope they do and it all goes smoothly.
Kathy, did you see the launch? Jocelyn posted two pictures of birds and snow today. I relate. Are you getting storms today? It looks like your temps are supposed to drop by 20° overnight.
Becky, how is the leg today? 40° is a BIG drop in temps. I guess everything IS bigger in Texas. Now that we have had our snow and ice, my sinuses are happier. Every time the barometer changes my sinuses rebel.
I cancelled lunch with the GF with the bad heart and back. I didn’t want her out in the snow and ice. I am pretty sure she is ticked at me but she’ll get over it. She doesn’t always do what is best for her, so I made the decision. Tomorrow I have to go south of town for my hair cut and then Thursday east of town for the financial advisor. Somewhere in between I will have to go to the grocery. Today, since I have time I am doing all the laundry.

Liz, good to hear from you! That weather sounds absolutely awful and I'm sure doesn't help with the commuting. We are in the 80s and it feels like a sauna outside. You can't move without sweating. Not complaining though and we are in for a cool down tonight. The launch went off right on time and was pretty. It was very clear, so there was only a small rumble afterwards and I didn't hear any sonic booms from the landing. Hope all goes well at the dentist. Don't blame you on stopping the PT. I would be worn out too with your long days and commute. I'm planning on finishing up my Christmas list, decorating, and wrapping this week.
Chele, the launch was easy to spot since it lit up part of the sky. It wasn't one of the real big ones, but it was impressive to watch and sounds like it was successful. Love the pic Jocelyn posted of the sleeping sandhill crane with snow on it. She just posted a video with a crowd feeding out of her hand. I wonder if she's ever gotten pecked! Yes, we're in for a big cool down tonight and tomorrow with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Sounds like the right decision on the lunch, but too bad GF doesn't see it that way. I'm sure she will get over it.
Waving to all. Hope you have a good Tuesday.

40 this morning and 30s nearby sent Bob looking for his warmer hat (no hair). Sunny, 60s and windy now.
Liz, I remember car doors frozen shut and a couple guys in our yearbook staff after school bracing foot on car and finally muscling it open! The push button door latches then were no help.
Looks like a lot of kids are getting a snow day in Upstate NY, about ten inches where I used to live.
Glad we are not having to board Micki right now. All that heavy rain in short time damaged the roof there and they are half capacity for a while.
I can use an oversize fabric band aid over the top of the finger kind of tented, sealed on sides with a little tape around it to pull in the lower edges. Corners snag on covers at night, but nit too bad so I slept. Aching tetanus shot is starting to shut up. yea.
Karen, how is your injury?
Today Bob went with me to bank to pay Visa, then Walgreens to replace OTC stuff whose pull date had expired and allergy stuff, and finally to Petsmart for Greenies and food and a new bed! I am not good with holding case of food right now. Micki's old bed is from two dogs past.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Probably best to postpone lunch with GF for safety reasons, but it sounds like she was more concerned about her sanity. It's good that you're looking out for her well being, even if sometimes she doesn't do that for herself. Enjoy your southbound trip tomorrow. What will you do in addition to the hair cut? AF went well but I had to cut out a few weight machines so I could get to the eye doctor on time. I might have just shown up late if I knew I was going to have to sit in the waiting room for half an hour!
Liz, great to hear from you. Be careful on that ice! Doesn't sound good. Good luck at the dentist. Are implants an option? An EMS friend of mine lost several teeth in a crash a few years back and had those. His were covered by worker's comp, so I don't know how expensive they are. Yes, we are quickly closing in on Christmas. Sorry you are still having issues from the leg length discrepancy. When are you going to get some shoes altered? In the crazy weather you're having, plus the commute and all the steps you take on a daily basis, that concerns me. Is your PT place open on Saturdays so you could get one session a week? I'm sure by the time you get to PT after work and the commute, your body is too tired to respond in a meaningful way. We signed the contract on the house today and fingers crossed financing won't be an issue. Cactus Jack turned out pretty well. However, he blew over in the storms we had over night (I think it was the 37 mph wind gusts), so we'll see tonight if he sustained any damaging to his lights. The rest of him got wet but nothing broke.
I didn't see anything about the SpaceX launch on the a.m. news, Kathy, so thanks for the update. Sounds like it was good weather for it. Are you hearing what Chele heard about your getting into the 20s tonight? That's bone chilling cold for you. Good luck with all the Christmas prep this week. I'll have to check Jocelyn's feed for the sandhill crane. That sounds adorable. I'll bet she has received a few pecks but hopefully nothing too forceful.
Linda, we used to see nopales for sale at flea markets when we lived in Austin. Thanks for the jolly wishes. That is either a small cup or those are very large marshmallows. I'm sipping a mug of TJ's Winter Wassail as I type this. Definitely good that you don't have Micki boarded right now. I hope they can get everything fixed before the rush begins in the next few days. Have you ever tried the finger tip bandages? I've also used the smaller diameter tubular bandages with some success. My cut was small enough that I was able to paint it with Nu-Skin and that has kept it closed and allowed it to heal. I hate tetanus shots! Is Micki getting his new bed from Santa?
Was today PT, Becky? Are you having cold weather like the rest of us? You didn't get any of the bad stuff from LA or MS yesterday, did you? I saw something on the a.m. news about missing mom and young baby missing in Austin What I'm reading is pretty vague. How's Scooter?
As I said earlier, I had to wait half an hour at the eye doctor. No explanation or apologies. I wasn't happy and my BP was a bit high as a result. Vision hasn't changed, but he said I have dry eye and the early stages of dry macular degeneration, which DM had. He said it will be at least 3 years til we need to consider cataract surgery. We've had rain and dropping temperatures, so it's been a pretty raw day here. We had some heavy duty storms just after we went to bed last night and I had to hold a terrified Arya until they passed. It was 56 when I left the house and 40 when I got home. Winds have been picking up as well. Supposed to be 20 for the low tonight.

Thanks for the start Chele.
Liz I'm sorry it's so cold and raw up there. We have been cold for us but if it weren't for the wind it wouldn't be bad at all.Challenging joints can be an understatement sometimes for us.It has been clear but chilly today so they aren't hurting as bad but I still have a long way to go.Thanks.That is my WW leader in the pic with me.I hope you are able to get to the dentist.I wouldn't want to work 10 hours and go to PT afterwards so I don't blame you.
Linda I love the picture.Kenneth wears his warmer cap when he's working outside too.I'm glad the shot aching is getting better.
Chele The legs are better at times. It's not as bad as yesterday. The therapist recommended getting a little hand massager or ball to keep the muscles loose and I got one at Walmart yesterday.I also have 2 massage balls coming Friday I ordered from Amazon.I'm glad your sinuses are better now that you have had your first snow.I don't blame you for cancelling lunch with your gf.You are looking out for her.
Kathy Wow on the 80's.We got up to 81 before this current cold front and our low was 33 this morning. It looks beautiful outside but looks are deceiving.Even though we got up to 52 with the wind howling it still feels cold.
Karen I'm glad you signed the contract today. No I went to PT yesterday and I will go back tomorrow. We had to go back to HEB today because they were late in getting a refill from the doctor filled and I was completely out.No storms because even if we have a chance of rain it's not even a heavy drizzle. We do have a 50% chance of rain Friday but I doubt we will get much. They are predicting 31 in the morning and another freeze for Thursday morning. The mother and baby are still missing. She had dropped her son off at school and went back home. When her husband came home neither of them were there but her purse and baby's things were there but the door was open. The APD does believe she is still alive and have brought in the TX Rangers. It has been very vague news.I doubt she would have left on her own since she also has a son.Scooter was wild today.A friend came over to help Kenneth with some stuff and she loves him.She gets so excited when he is here and comes in the house. Then after we came back from HEB she jumped up on my recliner with me and was very rambunctious.I finally got her to get off of me and she has been laid back since. She does not like the wind we have been having.

Karen, we just had a pretty good storm with 40-50mph gusts, 2 inches of rain, and some hail. I don't think the hail or the gusts lasted too long though. Another storm is passing through now and it's really coming down. We are dropping 20 degrees from our high of 84 today, so it will only get up to the 60s tomorrow. The coldest night will be 47 degrees, so that is a lot chillier than we've been lately. There is a low coming out of the Gulf that's going to bring a lot of rain this weekend. So much for the dry season! Sorry for the long wait at the eye doctors. I think a lot of people wait until December to use their benefits for contacts or glasses, so it gets busy. I'm glad you don't have to consider the cataract surgery right away. Glad Cactus Jack is still in one piece. Congrats on signing the contract!!
Becky, that wind makes it feel so much colder. I hope they find the mother and baby. We had a couple of young kids missing here and they just found them. They didn't release many details on what happened yet, but it sounded like they were okay.
Linda, glad you're not too sore. I remember hearing about the snow when my aunt and family lived up in New York. I don't think she misses that at all.
