Thinking mistake #2: Negative Fortune Telling
You predict the future negatively, without considering other possible outcomes.
Since I didn't lose weight this week, I'll never be able to lose weight.
Since I gave into that craving, I'll never be able to tolerate cravings.
How do you deal with negative fortunetelling?

I do negative fortune telling. Part of it is I have anxiety so I'm always thinking stuff will go wrong. Lately I've been doing better and not fretting as much and realizing that things often work out. I knew I could lose the weight it was the maintaining I was negative about for years. Worked out a plan (don't stop going to WW meetings, keep tracking, and have a support network) and have been maintaining.

negative fortune telling: Perhaps I do this...related to Wednesdays in that I think, "It is always this way and I lose my way on Wednesdays...it most always happens...etc" Will work harder on this in 2020

My current negative fortune telling is weight gain paranoia. I'm up a couple of pounds but it's merely winter related and not the start of a slippery slope.

When I'm doing well and I have a social commitment coming up: I know it's going to be hard to count points so I might as well just enjoy myself.
