Happy Wacky Wednesday morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection

Good morning all!
I am starting Day 3 of recommitment - I am feeling good and it feels easier today. I am a little concerned with the weekend. Friday is our Holiday party at work. It is being held at a sports complex with a golf theme. I do not know the first thing about golf. LOL After that we are meeting friends for a little holiday get together. We are probably going to be at a bowling alley. I need to set a plan when it comes to drinking and STICK to that plan. Saturday is our holiday with my family. We decided to do easy this year and we are bringing in pizza. I did order some wings for me. I just want to hang strong through this weekend.
I changed my work schedule yesterday and I got up and made it to the gym this morning. I need a better plan for what I am going to do at the gym LOL but this week's goal was setting up the foundation. I also need to figure out the whole shower at the gym thing. I just need a way to carry all the stuff I need better.
Not a whole lot new with me since my last post last night.
Waving to everyone and I hope you all have an amazing day

Good morning!
Jana - thanks for starting us off! Wings are usually a pretty good choice as long as they're not breaded. Lots of simple at home options for dipping sauces if desired. As far as the pizza goes, there are a lot of people who are perfectly content to just eat the toppings off the crust. The sauce is generally a minimal worry. of course all of the meats, veggies & cheese are pretty harmless. I've never done it that way personally, but many do. I love hearing you so positive and upbeat. Wow! Gym in the morning? Good for you! I could never get myself to that point. Weekend mornings were awesome, but I could just never work out the whole "before work" thing....although DH did it with great success for years.
Susie - Oh goodness! I hope today finds you feeling better. Take your time recovering and don't push it. That kind of sickness really drains you, so stay hydrated with whatever you can keep in...broth, tea, coffee ginger ale, just whatever you can tolerate. I hope recovery is a quick one.
Bright and chilly here this morning at a crisp 29 degrees, but I think we're going up to around 40 this afternoon, so not too horrible. I'll be working on my grocery list today with the shopping trip tomorrow (I think). I'd like to think I won't need to go back until after Christmas, but I'm pretty sure I'm not that good. hahaha.
Waving to everyone I'm missing! I plan to pop back later.
Have a great day everyone!

Hey everyone -
Gosh as soon as I feel like I'm becoming a regular poster again, something else happens.
On Thursday we had a holiday party for our division at the campus bowling alley. I didn't bowl - didn't really touch anything there. Got back to the office and like an hour later felt terrible - like cold symptoms and just fatigue. So Friday I worked the morning only - went home in the afternoon and started medicating. Really didn't do much Saturday or Sunday and didn't work Monday. I came back to work yesterday - today I actually feel mostly back to normal - just still dealing with a cough.
Since this past weekend was my first weekend home in a while without having to go to a funeral or traveling, the illness really threw my plans off track. I was planning to do a lot of cleaning and organizing - as well as finishing up Christmas shopping, sending cards, etc.
So my parents are coming into town this weekend to do Christmas with me - which is weird. And they are like buying groceries for my brother since they return Sunday. At some point next week, I'll go over and do Christmas with my brother's fam and the kids. So I'm just focusing on doing the absolute necessary immediately - some things will wait. Like, I'm hoping to get cards mailed out on Sunday or Monday. I also think I've decided to do no decorating for the holiday this year. I think the only reason I feel a little bummed out about it is because of social pressure to decorate and like have pretty tree pictures and such. The reality is, it's too much stress on me and I was debating doing it anyway because of depression - and the idea of not worrying about it has been a relief. It doesn't mean I'm not celebrating - just doing things differently!
Anyway - we are going to lunch today (a few office folks) and then I have a few things I'm working on this afternoon. Tonight's goal is cleaning up the living and dining areas. My table has had junk on it since around my birthday and it's been driving me crazy. Hopefully tomorrow after work I can finish up some shopping. Then Friday will be wrapping and such.
Happy Wednesday!

Hi everyone - me again.
Lora I actually got my scheduled changed at work so that on Tues, Wed and Thur I can come in an hour later and work an hour later - I just get up at the same time and shower at the gym before coming here. I just know how bad I am about going after work and making a million excuses to talk myself out of going if I wait until the afternoon. I hope if I do it first thing I will go and get it over with and not think about it too much I probably could just eat the toppings off pizza and I actually have a recipe where use eggs and cheese to make a pizza type crust. I may try to find it somewhere and maybe make it one night after the holidays. I just don't want to tempt myself too much - I love pizza and it is definitely a trigger food for me. I checked on the wings - they are not breaded
Amanda I am sorry you haven't been feeling well. We did not decorate for the same reasons this year. We also just do not have space. We actually have a few decorations out but just some things that could sit on the end tables and kitchen table type of thing. I hope you enjoy the time with your parents. I know you are excited about your DB's family coming back home.
Susie I sure hope you are feeling better this morning.

I'm almost back to normal - tonight will be 48 hours and I am actually pretty darn good. OH my, found out DD in Boston has it AND DGD close by has it. DS, DGS, and DDIL had it last week. Jana - I do not doubt that so many kids in school are out with it... I have been pretty lucky for years I guess! Oh, I hope DH does not get it, but I don't know how he can escape it!
Jana - so happy that you got to the gym...I know it will be hard with getting home an hour later, but I think it will be so good for you...just take it easy and don't overdo. If you were going after work, I would say, just skip the shower and run home to do so, but by the time you have finished a whole day at work, you would probably just skip the gym, so morning is good. I am definitely a morning person so morning works for me too. Sorry about your good day and then coming home to find DF in a bad way...at least he went to bed shortly after you got home. Glad you got the massage at least. Yippee for Day 3 - I am convinced that you will STICK to your plan for Friday.
Lora - It was 29 degrees here this morning too...glad you survived all the rain. Yippee that you have the Christmas meal plans better for you !!!! I ended up having only water yesterday, and a couple sips of plain tea last night.
Amanda - oh man, a free weekend and not able to enjoy it....sorry about the sickness..darn...sounds like yours lasted even longer than mine. As far as Christmas goes, I say do whatever makes it easier for you. I have a tree up, but so far one ornament on it - and the tree went up when DD was here for Thanksgiving -- ha!
Andi - I feel your pain about losing an inch of height--- Me too...and I cannot afford to lose any - ha! Do you take BP meds? Mine was really good when I gave blood on Saturday. My HDL is always good - even in the upper range, but then so is my LDL - yuck! Glad you will soon get away from the snow and enjoy the sunshine and beach.
RobinMD - Glad getting the crown was an easy-than-expected process. Good for getting the tire too (even though it pinched the finances). I noticed that I had something hanging from my car the other day and asked DSIL to look at it. He said it looked like aluminum or something that may have come loose, but since it wasn't dragging, to just have them check it at my next oil change. I will have DS look at it too and see what he thinks (he knows a little more about cars).
OK...off and NOT running, but at least moving around - ha!

Happy Hump Day, ROs, Jana, I sure admire you for following through on your gym plans. I think to start, if you just get on the treadmill or bike or elliptical, to do ANY thing at all, it will inspire you to do more if it is a day that you just aren't into it! I hope you have fun at the Christmas party. The wings sound really good... I also feel like pizza is a trigger for me. I sure agree with Lora, it is so good to see you feeling positive and motivated. Isn't it great, when you feel like you really are in charge of your choices, and your health... Lora, it sounds like you and your DMIL came up with a great plan, so no one (you!) will get stuck in the kitchen with the majority of the cooking AND the cleanup! Everyone gets to have fun! Susie, I am so glad that you are feeling so much better. Thank goodness it was a short-lived bug! Hopefully, it will finish making its rounds through the family, before your get-togethers on Christmas. I laughed when you said you still only have one ornament on the tree! I sure hope there is nothing important that is hanging off your car... Amanda, sorry you were sick too, but it sounds like you got ahead of it, and got better a little quicker. You know, I didn't drag out a bunch of decorations this year, and I am ok with it. I am just not home a lot right now, and no one else is here, so it seemed a little pointless. I am still in the Christmas spirit! I am not being a Scrooge, I just have other priorities right now, like you Well, I don't have a lot to talk about tonight, just wanted to catch up and say hello to all...I am also expecting really cold weather tonight, but no bad weather to go with it. I don't think this super-cold snap is going to last but a couple of days so I am relieved about that. I hope everyone is having a good week (Susie and Amanda, it is getting better, at least!)… I will be back tomorrow, but waving to all tonight! RobinMD
