Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection

Just a quick check in. I am getting ready to run out the door to start Holiday celebrating today. I got up and made it to the gym this morning. Got back and went to breakfast with DH and DD.
I hope you all have a great day today. Tomorrow is my family celebration - I will try to check in but I know I am going to be busy most of the day. We are keeping the littles tomorrow night as well. I should be good and exhausted tomorrow night.

Good morning everyone!
I guess I failed to post yesterday. Oopsie, that was not my intention. Yesterday was grocery day. I was out and about longer than normal because of a couple of other errands that needed to be handled as well. Ace hardware to get a replacement filter for the HVAC, then Publix to pick up a couple of Lily's dark chocolate bars for Mark's stocking, then Aldi and WM for groceries, then fill up the truck with gas on the way home. Anyway, but the time I got home, unloaded the car, put away the groceries, changed the air filter, blah, blah, blah I was ready to sit down a just veg for a bit.
Jana - I'm SO impressed with your morning gym activity this week. You're doing great with your goal of creating that foundation of habit.
Andi - I hope you made it through the day without any frostbite! Yikes that's cold! It was 30 w/a wind chill of 25 when I left out of here yesterday. So not teens for sure, but pretty nippy for this area. Luckily we had plenty of sun and it got up to about 40. We're already at that this morning and we're working toward high temps in the 60s for Christmas Eve.
Susie - so glad to read that you're feeling better. It surely didn't take you long to bounce back. Yay YOU!
Waving to all I'm missing.
Oh...quick side story. Remember that I mentioned that I sent Mark an Amazon Wishlist? Well 2 boxes delivered yesterday. He took them and literally dropped them in front of the tree. Me: So does anything in those need to be wrapped? Him: No. It's just your Christmas presents. Another should deliver tomorrow. Me: So you're just going to leave those ugly brown Amazon Prime cardboard boxes there in front of my beautiful tree? They're even blocking the pretty wrapped gifts that I got for you. Him: Well if you don't care about wasting wrapping paper, you could wrap them I suppose. Me: (after a long stare and a couple of slow blinks and eye rolling) I'll wrap them. Him: Whatever makes you happy.
MEN!

Good Morning Everyone...up early and to the gym, then to DD's to take a walk, and off to my 1st Annual Christmas/Holiday TEA with the ladies of Greenwich Walk (my neighborhood)...can't wait - it is at our clubhouse and should be fabulous...we are to bring our favorite champagne class also for a toast (oh, you have my attention)!
Jana - you are rockin'and rollin' my friend....yippee for getting to the gym... I am confident in you. Try to pace yourself tomorrow...one step at a time. I'll be thinking of you.
Lora - when I go shopping, I am just drained when I get home....same thing when I am baking and standing for too long...jeesh...glad you could just chill last night. Well, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the conversation between you and Mark - too bad the eye roll didn't work - ha!

Susie - Enjoy your tea (and champagne toast!) with your neighborhood ladies. How fun!
I'm not mad or upset with Mark over the whole wrapping thing. I married him almost 33 years ago knowing that he's more of a practical sort. He doesn't help decorate the tree, he doesn't enjoy the process that goes into the "extras" that make me smile. That's just him. He does appreciate the work that I put into such things though. Also, he's always a big help when it's time to dismantle the décor and get everything all packed up and put away, so at least I have that. When DD was little I used to make him put at least one ornament on the tree, after that it was all me and Shell. Haha. I just always think that at some point he's going to surprise me and actually give a hoot. Maybe in our 34th year. Hahaha!

Hi everyone, I never made it here yesterday, either...I got busy puttering around after I got home, and just went on to bed early to watch some TV and snag my spot on the bed, before the dogs did! Now that I can get Netflix up there, I can stretch out and watch something before I'm ready to turn out the light. Anyway, It has been so busy at work and mentally, I think I've been numb when I get home. Ha! Tomorrow I'm at the station from 8a to 8p. I am just taking soup, wheat crackers, a few slices of good cheese, a navel orange, and for breakfast, oatmeal. I rarely eat everything I take, but I like to have some options. I don't have salad stuff right now, so if we get a call, I could pick one up on the way back if I want one with my soup. Lora, I had to laugh at the conversation! "Ill wrap them." I totally get it! He's a guy. Each one has their strong suit! Some just aren't the bells and whistles type Our temps are rising a bit, too, after a couple of really cold nights. It will be in the 50's during the day, but still 20's and low 30's at night. Its not bad for winter, and I think it will be sunny, so it is the next best thing to a white Christmas! No more rain, thanks! Jana, I hope you have a really good time at your celebrations! And also spending time with the kids! I am so happy you got to the gym again today. I am inspired, and I really need to get a grip on my self-discipline! For some reason, this holiday season has brought out my appetite...and I haven't been making the best choices. Its mostly the quickest and easiest choices. You are really inspiring me to get back to something. If nothing changes, everything will, at best, stay the same. Where my weight and health are concerned, that is not acceptable! And I know that I prefer to work out and feel my best...I am just not making the effort, so I will at least do something here at home, if I don't re-join my gym. I'm going to get my stuff ready for work tomorrow. I hope everyone has a really nice weekend planned. I'll be back tomorrow or Sunday! RobinMD

Hi Everyone, We had our holiday show on Wednesday. The kids did pretty good I thought. Nobody cried or didnt refuse to participate. We have that before but If they do its okay because at this age to expect them to perform is scary and really not developmentally appropriate. I have some very young three year olds and I thought they might have cried but they did ok.
We usually get out early that day after we clean up. On Monday as I was picking up my friend for work we noticed a strange noise my car was making. I wasnt sure if it was the tires or something else. On my way home I stopped at the dealer. They did a visual check of my tires and said they didnt see anything wrong but since it was late they couldnt put them up to check. Since I got out early Wednesday I took it to the place I normally take it. They did put it up and saying it is both brakes. I am a bit suspicious because they are also saying that three tires need to be put on. When I got the car they said it wouldnt need any work on it for a while so I think I may ask for a second independent evaluation and see if they are similar in their assessment. I am still paying off work that was done on my other car but if needed I would do the brakes anyway. Jana, glad you are getting back to the gym routine. I need to get back into going more regularly instead of once a week. When I was taking zumba at thd other gym before they closed it down suddenly I was going to the class later and was motivated to go because it was the same instructor as the Sunday class. I havent tried any of the zumba classes at this gym. Susie, glad you are feeling better. Enjoy the Christmas tea at your clubhouse. I had plans for lunch tommorow with my two former coworkers at the Indian buffet but the friend that I also work with isnt feeling well so we are postponing it. I also have a birthday dinner for another friend. Originally I thought about just getting coffee and dessert since our lunch was going to be later than we normally eat but now I'll probably order an entree. Lora, I am terrible at wrapping presents so just do the bag with tissue wrap. I guess I should watch a u tube video on doing it. My teaching partner wrapped all the gifts and I checked the list and wrote their names on the gifts. lol!
