Good morning,
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning Lora and ATF... the concert was lovely, but I got nervous when DD texted and said she was at the gate and asked if anyone was picking her up - Of course, she was at the gate in Boston, but I freaked and thought she was here - ha!! We slipped out just before the end and it was a good thing because we knew it would take a l-o-n-g time to get out of the parking garage and on the road if we hadn't. I had taken the gifts for DS and her family (DS was at the concert too) but we just didn't have time to wait for them to get them. It was a good thing we left when we did because DD texted that her plane had landed when we were on our way to the airport.
Lora - you must be really busy this morning since all I saw here was the opening statement and no comment from you---lol
OH ANDI - the Richmond Choral Society sang in part of the concert and I thought of you ! I know you are having fun in the sun...
OH dear...here comes DD down the stairs so we are off to walk with ODD...bbl

Merry Christmas to all of you, Happy Chanukah to Janet and Andi. I only read back to yesterday, things have been a little crazy, and upsetting here.
Lora, I totally understand DH's feelings about his DF. My DH's best friend died on Thursday night. We were actually very good friends with them both as a couple, but my DH had met him during the first year of law school, so a friend for 46 years. He did take very good care of himself, however he developed lymphoma about a year ago, and even going through all kinds of treatments, including a bone marrow transplant, at Sloan Kettering, there was nothing they could do. It had come back very aggressively right before Thanksgiving. We had about a week warning that it was imminent, and it was a very bad week. DH had a DB who died at the age of 47 because of a heart issue, his other DB has had various heart issues for the past few years, and his father died when he was 68, so DH was already feeling things, however this hit him particularly bad.
Lora, I do hope you enjoy your Christmas Eve dinner, sorry that you were pressed into action to cook when you hadn't planned to.
Susie, sounds like a little craziness for you last night but I am sure the concert was lovely, and you are happy to have DD home.
Jana, such a nice idea to get for your dad. I know this is going to be a difficult holiday for you, my thoughts will be with you.
Janet, sounds like you really have your hands full with that little boy.
Robin, hope all went well with your pup.

Hi Everyone, Sorry both Lora and Robin S. about the passing of close friends. I got out early this afternoon around 1, dropped off my friend and ran into a small deli that I knew wouldnt be overly crowded to get a few things. No kids showed up today so basically didnt do too much in the terms of work but did a few small minor things. I started to work on my plan for next week ( a short week as I I only have 2 days to plan for.) I'll probably work on it the following week as well if I can but filing the children's work is a priority first. I am making progress tho. My teaching partner should really be helping me with this but she doesnt. However she deals with that boy a lot and with keeping the room clean so I dont push so much on the paperwork so much. She takes care of the meal count and attendance records tho. Susie, glad you made it to the airport to get your daughter. I am now down to one on the waiting list for the book about the grandmother who hiked the Appalachian trail. I got another book until I do receive the notice that it is at the library. I tried downloading the ebook but it is taking too long to happen so will probably delete the app but want to try one other thing that isn't related to this book before deleting it. Have a great night for those who are celebrating Christmas and Hanukah as well.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone,
I really think I love this day even more than Christmas Day....I feel such a sense of joy, hope, anticipation, and love about this day! Then Christmas is a feeling of togetherness and sharing, and that big exhale that happens at some point... Today, I got a couple of last minute small things that I wanted. I got something for my brother and his family, and toys for my grandpups. DSIL wants me to bring an appetizer so I got crescent rolls and little cocktail wieners to make pigs-in-a-blanket. They eat them like peanuts. I'm doubling the recipe, and there won't be leftovers. I was going to make guacamole if the store had enough ripe ones for an extra large bowl, but they didn't. It is just mean to take a small amount over there. Duchess survived her vet trip...there was only a small injury to one of the vet techs. The sedative didn't really kick in very well (oh! but it did 4 hours later!), so when we got to the vet, she was still wound up - but yawning! We decided that half the problem may have been that they took her away from me, and she was very upset about that so I told them to let me hold her head. If she keeps getting away with this it won't get better, so I figured I would be pack leader, and talk to her while making her be still. With a muzzle on. She was just slightly weaker, so with me on her upper body, and a vet tech on her lower body (did I mention Duchess is smaller than a beagle?) and the other vet tech doing the shot and the nail clipping, we were able to pin her down long enough to get it done. One vet tech got a nasty scratch (it sure did bleed a lot), but other than that, we all lived to tell the tale.
Susie, glad DD got there safely, and you picked her up without a hitch, after all. I hope you all are having a great time together!
Robin, I'm so sorry to hear about your DH's friend, as well.
Janet, I would love to know the name of the book about the woman walking the Appalachian Trail! I live within walking distance of the AT, and have always wanted to walk the whole thing. Back in the day, you could do it on horseback, and that was my dream, but they banned horses from the Trail some time ago.
Well, I am wishing a very Merry Christmas to everyone and their families and friends....peace on Earth, good will toward all, and God bless us, everyone!

Robin Md, Its called Grandma Gate's Walk: the Inspiring Story of the Woman who saved the Appalachian Trail. It's by Ben Montgomery. What is the town that you would start of from near you? I think that town is around where we started a long time ago when I was a camp counselor and then we hiked the trail for several days with our campers.( girl scouts) Harper's Ferry or something similar? The first or second night was kind of scary for us because there was a group of men nearby that we could hear and we didnt want them to know we were there so we didnt light any fire.
