Good morning...I see your birds now talk.!
early ,so tucked into bed again. Staying home with just a nice steak dunner for us tonight since we did the Christmas thing yesterday at db's and last night for us. I have a new puzzle to do.
Although the rain went away last night, it chose to start in DH and dog on their walk and stop after he came home again! He is beginning to feel like that guy in little Abner who had a cloud following him!

Thanks for the start, Chele, and Merry Christmas. I imagine you and Iggy have opened gifts by now. What are your plans for the day?
Linda, I'm happy to hear you had a dry drive to and from yesterday. So, the mousse cake was still good, even given the use by date? What movie did you watch after opening your gifts? LOL on the puppy photo. That's adorable! Sorry Micki's walk got cut short due to the weather. Is it snowing north of you? Ex-SIL was lamenting on FB yesterday about where was their White Christmas. I told her it was in AZ and she didn't believe me until she checked the weather map.
I figured your checks were direct deposit, Becky. My state retirement is the 25th, so I'm sure it went in yesterday as well. Your meat and a side sounds like just enough. Did you have a salad as well? I got some fat free balsamic dressing from TJs and I like just a little so I have been cutting it with a lot of water and it provides just enough flavor without all the gooey dressing.
I need to spend time this afternoon reading the manual for my new Mealthy CrispLid, which will make my IP into an air fryer. Arya got me a pendant with a basset hound on it that kind of looks like her, and Dale also got me platform pedals for my indoor bike that I already installed and a new travel water bottle that will be great for the car. I did time on the rowing machine and baked a butternut and spaghetti squashes that I have to scrape out the insides. It should be warm enough mid afternoon for a short hike. The ice cream cakes turned out well but weren't exactly photogenic. Plenty of sushi for dinner tonight.
Waving to the rest of the gang and hoping you are having an enjoyable day.

Merry Christmas!
We had a lovely Christmas Eve at DM's house with just immediate family. I'm heading over to DS's house today for the bigger gathering with some of DBIL's family. It's 77 here already, so it's going to be a warm Christmas. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! 🎅

Linda, I am glad the family gathering was a success and the cakes and gifts were a hit. Poor Bob! He is getting well watered on the dog walks. What kind of puzzle are you working on now? Yup, the bird is talking. Becky, did you go to Christmas services? How was the sermon and the singing? It sounds like a nice lunch yesterday. Enjoy the ham, tater tots and green bean casserole. I used to love the crunchy onions on top of the g.b. casserole. Karen, Iggy was home by 2 pm and told me I wasn’t getting any presents because I got the phone. I told him that was fine. I bought my own. Your sushi sounds delicious especially the spicy crab roll. I like a sushi salad but am not a fan of seaweed salad. I am glad you liked your ice cream cakes even if they weren’t photogenic. Have fun with the air fryer. The basset pendant sounds so cute. I have a Maltese bracelet that DM gave me and I love it. What are platform pedals? Kathy, enjoy your 77°. We are warm (for us) and sunny today. I hope the larger family gathering is as enjoyable as yesterday. Iggy did find some goodies for me yesterday. We woke up early this morning and exchanged gifts. His favorite was the Mad Bomber hat. It is the one with the ear flaps that can be tied on top of the hat. He got me a pair of binoculars and 2 bird books. Fun! We have been watching movies all day. A Christmas Story. Die Hard. It’s a Wonderful Life. We have called and texted everyone, so we can just chill.

Thanks for the start Chele.
Linda I hear we may get your rain when it leaves you.I hope you enjoyed last night's celebration.
Karen I like your new avatar. My state retirement doesn't come until normally the day before the end of the month as long as I choose direct deposit which I did.No Meyers doesn't offer a salad as a side. They have a 1 trip salad bar which is definitely not worth the $7.99 they charge for it.I have never seen fat free balsamic. When I eat salad at home I use evoo. Can you not have dressing or do you not like dressing?I do measure it before I add it to my salad.I had picked up a liquid taco seasoning pack to add to the ground beef for tacos last night and Kenneth loves it.I told him he might get it again next Christmas Eve and he said he hoped he didn't have to wait that long. It's pretty spicy but we both like spicy.I told him we could probably have it on NYE because I'm thinking I want to go to Sirloin Stockade for NYD.Did Arya pay for your pendant?LOL.I didn't get anything from Scooter or the cats.Nice gifts.Kenneth never knows what to get me for a surprise gift.
Kathy You really have had a warm winter and Christmas. Our low was 36 this morning and foggy and our high was 72.It was nice and partly sunny for awhile so I took a walk.
Chele We only have a Christmas cantata and it was a couple of weeks ago.Kenneth has a hard time driving at night so we didn't go.There are no Christmas Eve or Day services.I have never seen tater tots on a green bean casserole.I have never eaten a green bean casserole but Kenneth loves them.Since we don't use our oven because of propane I found this in the frozen section at Walmart and I can microwave it.Our new fridge/freezer is so cold I took it out of the freezer this morning and put it in the fridge. It will still be plenty cold but at least not frozen.Kenneth wanted binoculars for Christmas so that was his gift to himself.I got him a surprise and he got me one.

.Sure was gloomy, windy and rainy morning. We had a little brunch; I worked on my puzzle while he looked at his new books; then dog got a nice long walk when sun came out for a while before Cal. rain comes to us again. We have a few noshes out until late supper.
Yesterday was lots of people and dogs! Dsil's brother wife and daughter from NM came too.The kids liked getting their gifts from us before dinner. The 8 year old was a fast study on a step-on piano pad. Her younger brother figured out fast how to transform the car carrier truck into a loop for hot wheels. And when we first got there, I gave them crayons, gel pens water colors, paper and coloring book to play with while the big people were boring!
The ice cream cake and the chocolate mousse cake mostly disappeared fast. They were good. We were lucky to get there and get home between rounds of rain.

Chele, I figured with Iggy being gone for a few hours that you were going to get something good. You'll get some use out of those binoculars and books. Dale and I both have a similar style hat, both with SF Giants logos because that is a big item at the home baseball games. They call it a "two flaps down" hat. The only problem I have with mine is that I wish it was a bit longer in the back to cover more of my neck. We just finished watching A Christmas Story and have been watching some of the Doctor Who Christmas specials. I watched Bad Mom's Christmas (again!) yesterday. I've been messaging DSIL, DN#1, and ex-GF of DN#2 and mother of his 2 boys. She is very good about thanking me when I send them anything. DB/DSIL are having an awesome Christmas and posted some photos of all of them at the beach. Their youngest daughter and husband went down for the holiday, so they're having a great time. The sushi was as good today as yesterday. I actually love the seaweed salad, except the shards that get stuck in my teeth. Platform pedals attach over the regular pedals so I can take them off and on depending on whether I want to wear biking shoes or street shoes. I also got a portable potting bench that I will probably take out of the box on Friday so I can use it to do a little transplanting of succulents I bought a couple of weeks ago. I'll bet the Maltese bracelet is adorable and I know it has special meaning now.
The new avatar is another photo from the Great Smoky Mountains, Becky. We used to get our checks from the college direct deposited on the last day we worked for the month, so there were times we had to make December pay stretch until the last day of January, and that wasn't easy. The tater tots were ON the green bean casserole? That's a new one. Some salad dressings are just too heavy, salty, and oily. I notice that more in the past year and a half since I have cut so much of the oil out of my diet. I like the flavor but I find that by thinning them with water, I get the flavor without all the extra calories and goo. The FF balsamic I get is from Trader Joe's, but I think Whole Foods has their own brand. I think Ken's might also have one but I can't find it in any of my stores. I don't think I've seen liquid taco seasoning in packets. What brand is it? Yes, the pendant was from Arya. She also got Dale a lighted running vest and he can't wait to try it out. We give each other a list but always manage to get each other a surprise or two. A very cold freezer is a good thing to have. I'm glad it's working so well.
Linda, you certainly have had unseasonal weather this Christmas. The kids' gifts were apparently a hit. Good that they were able to stay entertained. You'll have to remember that mousse cake next year. Apparently the use by date doesn't mean much. Enjoy your quiet day. Dale went for a run earlier and I did about a mile hike this afternoon. Good day to be outdoors here with temps almost 60. We ate out on the screened porch again.
Safe travels back home tomorrow, Liz. I hope you had an enjoyable time.
Kathy, yesterday sounded really nice and I hope you had a good gathering today as well. Did everyone like their gifts?
Osteo tomorrow. Seems strange because it feels more like a weekend that the middle of the week. Have a few things to pick up at the store, but don't need much. Dale plans to stop at Aldi on Friday. I got the last of the pomegranates at Aldi and am almost out of apples, so I need to switch off to other fruits for lunch and dinner now.

I have the what day is it thing too!
The cake was sell by...if it had been use by, I would not have bought it. They liked the ice cream cake better.
Pretty picture, Karen. Have not seen those hats in years.
Hope you had a great Christmas. Hope the ailing are feeling better.
Micki really liked his stuffed santa toy.
Talked to the folks back in NY. We had a nice, small steak dinner at home , a short Micki walk together looking at all the lights on our street...almost every house , then quiet night watching episode one of season 13 Murdoch Mysteries.
Micki and I are tucked in early while Bob reads.
