This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends!
Sorry I didn't make it here yesterday, but it looks like I'm not alone. We were up early, enjoyed relaxed coffee and opening our gifts to each other before getting ready and heading over to the in-laws. All went fine there, but when we got back home yesterday evening, I was kind of worn out, and DH was to also, to the point of actually being kind of cranky. I think we're both better this morning.
I don't know about all of you, but I'm kind of looking forward to getting back to a more normal routine.
Have a great day everyone! BBL

Good Morning Lora and ATF...getting back to the normal routine is always good. We will be taking DD out to dinner and then to the airport this evening. DSon and family left for Florida this morning to visit in-laws, and ODD and family will be leaving on Sunday for MD, PA, MA (visiting people along the way) and finally arriving at YDD's boyfriend's family's lake house in NH for some skiing and relaxation. So.... it should be quiet around here for a few days.
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends.

Good morning.
I feel like I have an emotional hangover this morning - if that is possible.
But it is back to life as normal - as normal as it can be at this point and time. yesterday was pretty low key for us. DD suggested we go to a movie yesterday afternoon. We went to see Little Women. I really enjoy the book and the movie was good as well. It helped pass the time and it gave me a chance to just sit and not have to feel anything for a bit.
I haven't been to the gym - I need to go back and I plan to start back tomorrow morning. I am trying to figure out some sort of structure to the whole gym thing. 30 day challenge - some sort of goal - I don't know yet but something.
Waving to all!

Hi! It's me again.
Susie - enjoy your "quiet few days". Although knowing you, I'm sure you'll find a way to keep it bustling and busy.
Jana - I totally agree with nailing down a gym schedule/strategy. In fact, I just realized that I missed dropping off my monthly check for the fitness center, so I'm not sure whether or not they've shut off my door fob. I should probably pop over there this afternoon and see if I can get in to drop my check in the lock box. Otherwise I have to go by the main rec center, and they're hours are often inconsistent and it's difficulty to actually catch somebody working. My shoulder is feeling so much better the last few days. I'm not sure if I'm quite ready for weights or the rowing machine yet, but I could certainly do with some elliptical or treadmill time, I think. We could be accountability buddies if you'd like.
Actually, I think I'll get my shoes on and pop over to the fitness center as soon as I get my clothes out of the dryer. Hopefully I'll be able to get in to drop off my payment. Thanks for the reminder!

Yay! My fob for the fitness center had not deactivated yet (probably because of the holiday...Lol). The check has been dropped off, so I'm good to go for another month. I'm committing to going tomorrow for a little treadmill/bike/elliptical time at the very least.

Hello everyone, I wanted to drop by...yesterday, I got up and enjoyed some great coffee and took my time getting going. My YDD came by around 1p to go over to my brother's. ODD is in Florida with her boyfriend (he is from there, and his mom lives there). We had a nice afternoon at my brother's farm. Lots of good food, cheeses, gravlax (my DSIL is of Norwegian heritage and they have a lot of Nordic traditions in their celebrations), and many varieties of wines... going to my brother's farm is like stepping back in time. It is a renovated farmhouse, done to the period it was built (early 1800's?), and they live sparely. The farm is run by draft horse, so all the work of tilling, planting, maintaining, harvesting, etc., is done by May, Jenny, and/or Tulip, the giant draft horses that they use to do everything. It is a smaller footprint, and they have little to no knowledge of fixing engines, so they avoid tractors when possible! All of their animals live in a natural environment - pigs are moved to different areas of the property to clear brush, dig up stuff, root around, and naturally and beneficially clear forest and overgrown areas of land....and this is the natural way pigs live, so they are very happy and active, and healthy. They also have some sheep, laying chickens, and very large vegetable and flower garden areas. Anyway, it was a beautiful mild day here, so we spent some time strolling around the farm, mingling with the animals, and enjoying feeling close to the earth. It is actually a lovely place to be, and inside the house is warm and inviting and cozy, and lends itself perfectly to a gathering of friends and family for holidays. We used to joke about my brother joining THIS century, but in all honesty, there are times that it feels just right. Lora, I find it exhausting to make the rounds... I really enjoy the quiet time at home at some point! Susie, I hope you are able to enjoy some quiet and slow time, even for a little bit! Jana, I totally get the emotional hangover feeling! Kind of slowing down, and enjoying family company (and the movie) sounds like a good way to spend time... You will get back in to a groove...You have already inspired (and reminded ) Lora of her gym! Take time for yourself through the holiday time. Hugs! Well, I am going to get ready for bed. I have an aggravating cold, and my back is a little tired, and I didn't sleep well last night. I have felt less than my best today, but I think a good night's sleep will help. I am going back to the station on Saturday, but will only work 8 hours instead of 12. That way, even if it's busy, there is a limit to how much I will have to do. I am off the first weekend in January, and have a 12 hour shift the second week of January, and I should be fine by then. I really dodged a bullet with this back sprain. I hope everyone is having some time to spend ANY way they feel like spending it, and I will be back tomorrow at some point. Waving to all....Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah, RobinMD
