Good morning all. Didn't have a restful sleep. For some odd reason I kept on waking up. I do have a gel manicure at 12:30...plenty of time to get myself together before that. The rest of the day will be planned around how energetic I am LOL. Waving...and wishing all a pleasant and OP Monday

Hi all,
Today is officially Blue Monday - at least that is what they said on the radio. Named because most people are returning to work after a long break to their first FULL five day week. That's me!
I did not sleep well either, Ann. I kept waking up so I am extra tired and dragging a bit.
I saw a great movie last night with my BF. We went to see the Mr. Rogers movie with Tom Hanks, who I think should win an Oscar for that performance. It was so uplifting and what a wonderful outlook on life Fred Rogers had. It was not what I expected but more a story of his positive influence on a troubled writer for Esquire Magazine who was profiling him. Very good!!!
Pam, do you have the recipe for the soup? It sounded great.
Ann, I am quickly getting hooked on Dark Matter. It is riveting and a bit eerie and I highly recommend it for a quick, "can't put down" read!
Have a good day all.

Good morning! Laundry is going and I have been puttering around preparing for our overnight guests. It is a beautiful sunny day with a high temp of 72, so I am airing out the house. I will also get in a walk to help prepare for a dinner out at a local cafe that, surprisingly, we have not been to in years. It changed ownership several years ago. I checked out the menu and it does appear grilled shrimp/chicken are options. Later, I will do a local hospice intake for my supervisor. She missed her flight home and got back to BTR late last night. She ended up staying in BTR with her sister for the night and was waiting for her sister to get off work and bring her home when I touched base with her this morning. She also has the sniffles, so I offered to take care of this, as I will probably be assigned to the case anyway. Judy - This is the recipe I used, minus the paprika: www.chelseasmessyapron.com/slow-cooker-salsa-verde-chicken-soup/. I never have fresh cilantro in the house, so I just use dried cilantro and try not to put too much. A teaspoon does okay and you can add more if you like. I use lime juice from a plastic lime, too, rather than fresh limes. Sue - I guess you're also having a "Blue Monday", so I hope it's filled with laughing children and no sniffly noses, lol. Ann - It seems you've been having a trying time lately health-wise. I hope things improve for you. I'm sure a good night's sleep will help. Off to re-boot laundry!

Judy happy you enjoyed the movie. I just put that book on hold at the library. They emails when it's ready to download Sorry for your sleepless night also. Must be something in the NE air LOL. I'm sure you are looking forward to getting home from work. Pam you are right. A good sleep cures a lot of things I plan on going to bed earlier tonight. Very nice of you to step up to the plate and help your supervisor. My manicure came out extra good which put a smile on my face.
Hi Sue. Will catch up with you tomorrow.
Time to shut down and read a bit. I'm in the mood for a hot chocolate

Hi again,
Pam, thank you for the recipe. I can't wait to try it. If it's Mexican, I'm in! That's by far my favorite type of food! I hope you enjoy your visitors. How long will they be with you? You are beyond kind!
Ann, glad your nails came out spiffy. I am sure they are very pretty. Glad you reserved the book. It's an original for sure!

Hi all, One work day down, four to go!
I went to my 7:30 AM WW and am pleased to report that I am down another 1.2 lbs. So that makes a total of 2.8 over the holidays. Hooray. I am focusing most of all on portion control and choices. I am eating my real foods and watching the sizes. Real butter, real bread. It wasn't working for me to eat the other stuff. We'll see how it all goes but that is my mantra for the new year. Portions, tracking, planning!
We watched three episodes of Modern Love on Amazon. So good. Even my DH was in tears after the first episode! It's originating from the NY Times Modern Love column. We love it. Not all traditional "love" stories but just love in general - parental, romantic, etc. I recommend it!
Back to work.
Oh- forgot to mention: My WW instapot/slow cooker cookbook arrived already! Quick delivery and it looks great.

Judy love your mantra. Mine is PTHM (plan/track/hydrate/move) Keeps me honest Oh and I do weigh in daily. I don't mind seeing those fluctuations. Thanks for the tip on the series. Right now we are enjoying the old 'spaghetti westerns' with Clint Eastwood LOL. Yup, Carl and I go through fazes I also forgot to mention that my WW Instant Pot cookbook arrived yesterday in record time. Haven't had a chance to look through it. Will wait till I can give it justice...more than likely not till the weekend. Great job on your fantastic weigh loss, Judy. So very proud of you

Thanks, Ann. Your support and encouragement means the world to me. Just back from lunch at the local diner where I had the half order of the roast pork. Very good and not too pointy overall...corn, green beans, small mound of mashed potatoes and the roast pork. I love half orders!

Judy half orders rock. More places should offer that. It saves points and $ lol. Win win in my books Back from getting my hair cut/colored. I went a bit shorter this time as I'm tired of 'dealing with it' My hair is very thick and wavy and it takes forever to blow dry. This works! It's cold out there. I heard that we could get snow...sheesh..... Going to grab a cup of tea and settle in with my kindle.

Good Evening, WW Friends ~
Sorry to be so tardy, but I found myself unusually busy! Yesterday was our first day back to school, which went very well. Then I came home and fought with my TV. Sunday I had installed and set up Amazon Prime as well as a 30 day free trial of Netflix on our Smart TV. Then I wasn't able to open them again?? I kept getting an error code, which really frustrated me. I asked around at school today as well as getting out the start-up guide, and by trial and error I was able to open them both as well as other apps. I have decided to keep Amazon Prime video and will check out Netflix, but may drop it. We are considering getting an antenna as much of our TV watching is on network TV, but not for the amount of $$ that Comcast cable charges. Thanks for your answers to our queries.
We went out with DH's VBF for Pasta Night which was delicious as well as a very relaxed time together with lots of conversation. It would be safe to say "a great time was had by all". Unfortunately we stayed up late and consequently slept in this morning so I had to rush. Tonight I roasted a Jennie-O BL SL turkey breast and made some rice pilaf and roasted broccoli & cauliflower.
Judy ~ Congrats on your WL!! Portions are so very important. I am a firm believer that we have to find the right combination for what works for us. I am glad WW encourages that and seems to do more of it.
Ann ~ I know you are happy with your new "do" as well as your gel nails.
I am going to scoot since I am fading fast and want to have some fruit before I get too sleepy.
BBL. Make a great day!!
