What in your opinion is a whole food? Do you eat whole foods?

I read an article from My Fitness Pal and it considered a food whole if it hadn't been altered and had little processing.
I consider unprocessed fruits and vegetables whole food. I consider nuts that haven't had flavor/salt/chocolate added as whole. I consider some grains as whole grains if they are plain. I consider beans as whole foods. I eat some whole foods but also eat processed food.

I eat predominately whole foods though we do have some foods that are processed, too. We have a lot of: * fruits * vegetables * grains (though they are sometimes processed by cooking * beans (again - one has to soak and cook them) * nuts * seeds * etc
I think it might be difficult to eat only whole foods...maybe?

To me, whole foods are foods in their natural form, with no additives, preservatives, etc. In fact, I was telling my husband last night that I wanted to eat cleaner this year and with as much whole foods as possible, which we do already, but I want to limit even further the processed foods we eat.
ETA: I've been MIA because my back went out Monday taking down the holiday decor and tree...

What everyone said. I do try to eat mostly whole foods. Oatmeal is processed I guess, but my body treats it like a whole food. I allow myself many treats, but I limit them.

Thanks Judy, it does already. I've not been to the gym though since Monday because that night is when things went south. I may try for a light walk on Sunday and then I think I'll be back on track with the gym again.
