Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Just getting us started this morning. Heading to work soon. Will see what the new girl learned yesterday. She works 10-4 so she’s going to be answering the phone with the young man.

Joyce, hope the new girl is a fast learner and a harder worker than the young man.
Ruth, the waterfalls in Hawaii are great. Sounds like the helicopter tour was wonderful even though the location was a little different than what you thought it would be.
Today is our January social, an “Italian Feast”. That is what the person in charge is calling it. The food is being catered, it was okay last year but I didn’t think the food was all that great. I guess because the committee usually eats last we didn’t get the food while it was hot. The person in charge doesn’t want anyone to help with the planning – of course then she complains about all the work she does, UGH!!! The committee will be there for set up and last minute rushes. It always turns out nice, just hope that Bill and I get some hot food this year.

Good late evening from Maui. Going to bed shortly because we have to be up about 6 am for the 5K run/walk tomorrow morning. I really wish I wasn’t signed up, but it wasn’t cheap and I am. So I will give it my best shot.
today we picked up the packets / shirts for the race. Then took the girls to ocean to Baby Beach. Then lunch out and a little window shopping. Then i watched the girls while the others went grocery shopping for dinner. Fresh seafood. Mahi Mahi, blue marlin, ahi tuna, ono, and something else. Something for everyone. And fresh salad makings from the farmer’s market. Yum!!! So healthy!!!
i’m really wiped out tonight. Out in the fresh air I’m not used to this time of year.
sounds like it’s awful at home. 6-8” of snow and some freezing rain, then high winds. Blizzard like conditions I guess. Stan’s ring camera showed our driveway got done this morning. Neighbor boys are being paid to do it.
Ok, off to bed shortly. More tomorrow after the run.

Joyce, how did work go yesterday? I hope the new girl is a big help for you.
Ruth, so nice to be able to get fresh vegis. We enjoy getting fresh vegis at this time of the year in Florida. Your trip sounds wonderful. I hope the 5K goes okay for you today. There has been snow at our house also but supposed to be above freezing there today.
Last nights’ social was nice. The buildings in our association were built 20 years ago so they asked the people who were original owners to tell us a few things about their time when they first bought. It was nice and very funny. Clean up went great, we had lots of people helping.

Good afternoon,
Ruth - so glad you’re enjoying your vacation. Sounds like fun.
Dottie - glad that the Social was nice. Did you end up getting hot food?
Work was very slow yesterday. I think the new girl is going to work out well. She’s 19, freshman year in college. She spent her first semester away from Buffalo and she did not like being away. Her parents let her come back home and she’s going to a great school. She’s glad to have a job to help her pay for college. In the summer she’ll pick up extra hours. What we have shown her, she picked it up right away. Yay! She’ll probably train as cashier for another week, then start back office work.
We got about an inch of snow yesterday, might get another couple of inches today. Not as bad as expected. The winds picked up a bit, but again not as bad as they thought.
Just kicking around today. I found a recipe for a skillet meal, chicken, rice, veggies ... think I’ll try it.
Enjoy your day

Good night all from Maui. Well I finished the 5K. It wasn’t pretty and I ended up borrowing a chair from the first aid tent to sit in with ice packs on me. It was warm and I think I was a little dehydrated and my chest hurt trying to breath and my BP was probably up a little. I can still tell tonight that my chest is a little tight. Don’t know if it’s all the fat constricting my lungs or an issue with the area that has some collapsed pockets. They tell me I don’t have lung issues, but I disagree with them. But I finished and that’s what counts. DSIL (a sweetheart) and Sawyer were running, but Sawyer was getting tired, so they slowed down and waited for me to come upon them and then they kept me going (literally) and we all 3 finished together. Harper won the under 14 girls division (she’s 9!!); and DD who was pacing Harper won 3rd in her age group. DH finished but said it wasn’t pretty either. His legs tightened up on him.
Tomorrow we are taking them all to the Maui Ocean Aquarium. It’s a great place and the girls love aquariums, so I know they will love this. Maybe some beach time in the afternoon.
got some laundry done again today, 2 loads yesterday, so trying to keep up with that. Not easy with 6 of us. Dishes are a constant issue too.
Tired tonight and going to bed early. Sorry for no SO’s, just too tired tonight.
