This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection

Good morning all. Ccccold here today, 14 degrees right now with 3-6 inches of snow expected this afternoon and into the evening. So whatever I need to get done today has to happen this morning, likely gym and supermarket. The supermarket is always crazy on Saturdays, not to mention an impending snow storm, and it's "can can" sale time so the store is packed with people stocking up on canned goods. Should be challenging. Most of what I need can wait until tomorrow but a couple of things I just have to have today. Am looking forward to a cozy afternoon binge watching Frankie and Grace.
DSon and family are coming to visit tomorrow at some point. I'm not sure what meal so I'll need to shop for that early tomorrow morning by which time I should know if it's lunch or dinner. If it's not too frigid out there's a wildlife exhibit happening not too far away that the kids might enjoy, so maybe we'll go to that. Jane (the baby) is still coughing so that may not be the best plan. There's a children's museum nearby as well so we may end up there - it will be mad crowded so not that appealing but choices are limited.
I have those WW 2 ingredient bagels in the oven right now and they smell good. Pain in the neck to make though - yogurt and flour turn into cement as they dry...
Hope everyone has a long weekend to enjoy. These pass so fast - I make plans and the days just shoot by. And I very much need some down time with all the merger stress right now I'm feeling, especially how to roll it out to staff so they don't bolt for the exits and freak out. I noticed yesterday when I left work at 5 it wasn't entirely dark - yay, days are getting longer!

Hi Everyone, Sorry I have not posted the last few days but have read the night before. My sister and brother in law are here so will be spending a good portion of my time over the weekend with them and my sisters and nephews. It is really cold here. We are not expected to get a lot of snow. It will be coming down tho while we are at my sister's place but I am only 5 minutes away from her. I am thinking maybe I may even walk over there and back to my place. Lora, hope things go okay with your visit to your father. Ditto on what everyone said. I finally got my library books but they both came at the same time. I actually didn't receive a notice that Little Women was there but was checking where they put the reserved books and happened to notice my name on the paper that surrounds the book. I am not sure that I will be able to read both of them in the time they give me and usually you can't renew it right away. You have to reserve it again. However, my sister said she has a copy of Little Women so hopefully she will remember to bring it to me this afternoon. I may text her to remind her. I will start with the other book maybe tonight as I am trying to finish the other book I am reading. Jana, good luck on the apartment hunting with your daughter. I assume the places she is looking at accepts dogs. Where I used to live they changed their policy to allow dogs and they even have a small dog playground for them. Where I live now they only allow cats which is okay since I dont have a dog. I hope that trying glasses will help your father see better. I just hope that if he drives anyplace further he does it safely. That's about it for now. Waving to everyone! Have a great day!

Good morning everyone.
Andi - good grief! 14 is definitely c-c-c-cold! I hope all goes smoothly with your family visit.
Janet - enjoy your family as well. With snow expected, I think I might walk as well. Especially since it's so close. Be safe, stay warm and enjoy the family time.
Seems like "family time" is kind of the theme of the weekend for the ROs. I wish I was looking forward to mine, but I kind of feel like I'm bracing. I'm trying not to and last night, Mark said that if things go south that he'd be happy to do all of the talking. I thanked him and actually agreed that it was a good idea. Naturally, he can be less emotional and more level and sound in this particular situation because it's not his blood family. So I'm thankful that he made the offer and will gladly take him up on that should the need arise.
Anyway, 40 degrees here and pouring rain. Cold and wet, so yuck. It's supposed to rain all day and then stop this evening and the temps start dropping. Thankfully, not to 14 though (sorry Andi).

Good Morning Everyone....good to see you Andi and Janet. Well, it is cold here, but I don't think we are supposed to get any snow...perhaps some rain though or maybe a slight mixture, but nothing to worry about. I am going to try a new gym class today... they are offering 30 minute samples of things so I am going to try something different from 10:15 - 10:45...I'll let you know how it goes. This afternoon I have a birthday party to go. It is for a friend and she has rented the clubhouse, so nice and close - should be fun.
Andi - your afternoon sounds delightful.
Janet - enjoy your family time! Be careful walking back and forth in the snow....
Lora - I will be thinking of you today - hope all goes well
Waving to everyone else...bbl

Hi everyone,
Boy. I have really missed getting on here. Between work and internet issues here at home, I just haven't been able to post. I am off today, and I have been a lazy spud! It is snowing, sleeting, freezing raining here and has been since about noon. What a mess. I only went outside to make sure the bird feeders were full, and that was it. I had to close the doggie door, because the cold air and rain were blowing in. It usually doesn't blow from that direction, and I hate to close it but I am really trying to keep the cold out. I have a huge electric bill that is due at the end of the month, so I am trying to layer up and wear really warm clothes, instead of turning up the heat. It really isn't that cold in here, but I have been chilled all day, so I am wearing my warmest layers! I always feel so guilty when I am unproductive here at home. Isn't it ok to (once in a while) just hang out with the dogs, drink hot tea, and watch old Gunsmoke and Bonanza episodes? HA!
Lora, that really is a good idea for Mark to take over, if conversations just aren't going great...much easier to sit quietly and have loving, caring facial expressions! I hope your DF is doing well with his treatments, and I hope your visit goes better than anticipated...
Andi, glad you enjoyed the singing the other night! I have also noticed that the sky is a bit lighter when I come out after work. It makes such a difference in my mood when I am not walking out into darkness! I hope you have some advance warning, as to what meal you need to plan for tomorrow!
Janet, sounds like you have lots of good reading ahead! I hope you are having fun with family visiting. The walking sounds like a good choice, unless it is freezing rain. I love to walk in the snow.
Jana, I saw that your DD found a good apartment! She is better off getting out on her own, and so are you and Robin... And you will always be there for her. Is it very far from where you are now?
Well, I am going to go clean up the kitchen. Not sure what is for dinner, but a chicken Caesar salad sounds delicious. I have some really good grilled chicken. I had fresh farm eggs on sprouted wheat toast and fresh orange slices for breakfast. I'm starting to get hungry again but I wasn't hungry when it was time for lunch, and I don't want to eat dinner too early, so I will wait just a bit longer and call it an early dinner! I might be back later, but I will definitely be back tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Waving to all, RobinMD

Lora, thinking of you today, so glad Mark will jump in and deal if necessary. And as RobinMD says, I hope it goes better than you anticipate.
Jana, sorry I haven't commented before - sounds like you handled DD's moving out so well. Sometimes baby birds need a push out of the nest.
Janet, enjoy the visit with family. I didn't realize your sister lives so close to you. I'm jealous, for sure.
Susie, I'll be interested to hear what you sampled. Eventually I will be able to join a gym and take classes - I always enjoyed them.
Lots of snow here and still really cold but supposed to get into the 30's overnight. DSon is indeed coming but I still don't know what the plan is. If I don't have time to buy food, we'll just have to go out to eat, and that's fine. I hope to get to the gym after the leave unless I feel completely fried, which is how I tend to feel when the two kids have been in my tiny house for any length of time.
Have a good evening, all.

My oldest sister lives the closest to me. My other sister who dropped me home after our long lunch lives out past King of Prussia near the Premium Outlets just off of 422. My second to oldest lives in Isreal with her husband and kids and a bunch of grandchildren. One of them is pregnant again bringing the number to 18 once that happens.
