Well let me try again - internet issues again today! It seems Ken & I cannot be on the internet on our computers at the same time. Need to call/chat with Verizon - but I don't have it in me to do it today! Between being short on time - and my anger over it - now is not the time to try to resolve the problem! I would probably tell them to just cancel my service - and then I would be out of luck in a lot of ways! UGH! Living out here has it's challenges!! Verizon is our ONLY "option" (although there is NO option) and IF I cancel - I'd have to go on a waiting list for service - should I decide I want it again! Yes it's true... someone new buying a house here in town - may NOT actually be able to get internet service, unless they just take over the existing service... meaning the house would be in the new owners name - but the Verizon bill would still be in the current customers name! Yes - it's THAT BAD out here in the boonies!
Anyway - gotta live with what we got - and that's the way life goes... moving on!
Relay meeting this morning - kick off... here we go!! The good news I am not on committee this year - and I do NOT have to go to every meeting! I probably WILL GO, out of "guilt" but we'll see.!
Let me grab more coffee - and see if I can catch up... again... and maybe not lose a post!

Good Morning ~ woke to just rain out there but strong winds! Expecting gusts over 40mph - and then snow and then ice and then rain and then ice...what.ev.er. lol No big plans today other than take Colby up to the groomers soon (they requested she arrive by 8:00 am) then hair appointment at 1:00 today.
Linds text from work to warn everyone the roads don't look bad but customers are reporting they are mis-leading and very icy! Black Ice is the worst!
Planning on tackling more work-work this morning then 'chilling' for a change!! I have one more Christmas tote to fill of little decorations we placed above the kitchen cabinets - will switch over to just snowmen for now until Spring - other than that no plans and YES we are OFF this Monday!! hooray!!

Carole - that is such good news about your Matt!! I can feel the weight of worry loosen a little for you! Thank you for posting the update - I am not on FB much but late last night I caught your post Good for you not being on the Committee and yes, if the roads are bad or weather is crappy or you are just plain tired, DON'T go to the meetings! lol That is a luxury and you should take it. What an interesting turn of events at DH's store. hmmm, that the new owner wants out but still wants to earn money from the employees' doing all the work. Interesting but if THEY each get a share of profits it could be a win-win...I'm curious what options for insurance your sister can find out there. A close friend of mine quit her position at the school (DL was just too much for her) at age 59 yr old and shared that she found a very cost effective plan under the Affordable Care Act. Which leads me to believe DH and I will be just fine should things take a turn for worst again. That we can find insurance... No Girls this morning? It sounds a bit like your Zoe is really starting to miss her parents. She can probably sense something is up and you are right, she may need to be near them more than they realize. How is your Tracking coming along? I hope you stick with it even during bad days as it's always encouraging to see the fresh start each morning. That's what "Starting Over " is all about, right? Sue - ugh, yes to this weather. It's a mess today. Ours will turn to rain by mid-day as the temps rise to 40s but then plummet over night and it starts all over again. DM invited me (out of guilt?) to join her and my Cousin to lunch today as my cousin cancelled meeting us at the Elks last week. Well, between you and me, I don't think they wanted anyone else to join them as I think Tracy loves having my mom all to herself. lol She can have her! Then I feel bad because everyone thinks I should be appreciating these times with my 80 yr old mother and spending time with her but honestly, there are times I feel worse having been in her company. You get it. She can just drain the life outta me. I will try tomorrow or Monday to get up to see her with Lindsey before Linds heads back to campus. I want her to see Lindsey's CA Trip pictures as they are really different than what my mother would expect.

Shelly - so glad to hear the Grandkids are feeling better and on the mend. RSV is nothing to brush off - Carly was sharing one of her co-workers has a 2 month old baby who has been in the hospital with it all week! Scary! Glad to hear you got your hair appointment in - it just feels better to get that color and cut in!! Our turn up here for the nasty weather - hope your weekend is a good one! Lisa - did you survive or do you still have the strong winds and wintery mix going on? How was your Friday? I am disappointed for you the temp job ended so quickly. Geesh. Nothing like a little notice. Hopefully this gives you time to organize a few projects around the house and take some time for YOU before the next assignment. It'll come. They need you!! How is your WW Plan coming along? I am still doing the Purple plan and still enjoying it. This past week we made zoodles for some dishes - I made the poultry sausage, peppers, roasted tomatoes over zoodles. Linds and I liked it, but not so much Carly. She admitted she prefers this dish with whole wheat pasta (which is tough to find) - I have leftovers I plan to eat today for lunch It's really good!! Jenny - are you off this Monday now? I think it's fab you can work a 4 day week!! Dreaming here!! lol Gabrielle - makes my heart sad for your DB and his struggles right now. Are they the ones with the little one? How hard! Both my brothers have had similar experiences and yes, it's important we be there for them. It can be draining I know but good for you taking time to just listen. We are OFF this Monday for MLK day. Yesterday I spent a crazy crazy busy day typing an Evaluation Report, starting another, scheduling the next round of computer testing (MAP) which coincides with the State testing for all English Language Learners we have to do end of January which is NOW. Trying to be sure our ESL Teacher feels ready for the testing - we have 21 ELL students which I guess is "a lot" for one school. But Montessori is a draw for internationals as many parents were in Montessori programs in their home country. Interesting fact. Okay - need to dash to the groomers then get moving on work work here.

Sorry doesn't seem I have time to head back to Thursday (again) - but will catch up from yesterday!
UGH the day from Hell that started Thursday - took me all the way through Friday as well! Getting over 1 1/2 hours OT this week for it - but sometimes it is not worth the $$! When I go in on Tuesday I will help Debbie with a few things that didn't get completed yesterday - can't leave that much for her to come back to! I know, I come back to a lot - but that's why I don't feel comfortable doing it to her! It's all good!
Christine! YES HOORAY FOR THE WEEKEND!!! Good idea to shake things up a bit... hope it helps keep the "boredom" away! LOL Glad Linds got home, to ease your worries! YAY for early dismissal - meaning no child care???
LOL Guess posting from my phone it doesn't know it's "me"? TIN Member?? HUH! Sue: Glad you can just stay home today... we are in a winter weather advisory starting at 3. I will be home by then... we are "on the fence" about going to the birthday party tonight! That will depend on the weather. It is supposed to be out of here by 7 AM, so we are still heading to Westboro at some point tomorrow. Not sure if/when/where we will catch up with the boys (Ken's brothers) but Ken just wants to get away for the night/days and leave town!! Gatlinburg (I think) is where we can go for the time share vacation... I am leaning towards that - but Ken is still thinking SC in April so we will see what we can do - maybe both??? LOL
How fun to have an added benefit to your TX trip!! Fourth of July on a lake will be a blast!!
Ken only has to commit to this first year - after that it is pro-rated to the (months) "time served"! LOL
OH dear - yes we have had bamboo pillows for years now! How scary though! NO Ken only had the one sleep study - where they determined he didn't have a problem! I'd like them to sleep with him for a week! OY VEY! LOL He surely DOES have a problem!
HA! The time study... well... in the past we have done these - and they give us a sheet of 3 minute increments, and we write in what did for all of those 3 minutes of each day! Imagine how easy it is to "doctor" your time... SO that's what I thought Amanda was going to do. However - she sent us an outline yesterday - showing what she's doing... and it's not exactly the time study that Josh led us to believe! What SHE is doing is to review our procedures - and sit with us to see how we utilize our time and see if SHE sees an easier - faster - more efficient way... to do our work! UGH! Talk about thinking she is GOD! Anyway... we'll see how this unfolds... but I am certain she will see that Kaitlin is the most overworked person in our department and if a new position is created - I am sure it will eliminate some of HER duties!
Thank goodness for 2 days of it I will be out of touch in her office - and not see/hear the goings on!

Shelly: YIKES... your deep freeze sounds horrible! Be careful walking - do you have cleats?? I use mine in the wicked icy stuff...
WOO HOO to the kiddos going home! Glad they are feeling better {{{hugs}}}
HA! No one has a clue what that business did! I thought our fraud department would call them and check it out - but I guess it didn't effect them as much as it did us!
Mornin' Christine, YAY to just getting rain! Except - oh, the ice... yup, even I would rather have snow to shovel than ice to deal with! BE safe {{{hugs}}} Sounds like a wonderful day to just stay inside and putter!
Yes... we are very grateful for Matt's updated diagnosis... being the negative Nell that I am, I am finding hard to honestly believe it's this "easy"... but I am planning ahead! Looking forward to a day or two with Zoë. in a Boston hotel - so she can visit with him, while he;s in after surgery - and be able to sleep with Patti each night!
I am not sure what my sister found for insurance, but it is something that gives her a tax credit to offset the cost... Yes, I firmly believe there is insurance "out there" for everyone - they just don't make it easy to find!
Yes, I do think the situation at the store can be a good one... because for the past 3 years thee employees have been saying they KNOW what the store needs - so here is their chance to do it!
NO - I am letting the parents get the girls to the meeting today! LOL My morning to myself... well, Ken's here, and I have to get moving soon! I do think Zoë knows somethings wrong... Tracy did show her Matt's post the other day, and her first comment was "Daddy's smiling"! SO that has prompted me to take her to his final treatment day... yup it will be a long day - but I want her to be there. Not sure why - but I feel she needs to see where he's been - and he's not "hurting", while getting treatment... I don't know, I guess I think at 4 years old she may remember some of it - and I want her to (maybe) remember it wasn't as bad as she may be thinking? Anyway - we'll cross those bridges when we get to them!
YES - I have tracked EVERY DAY. except yesterday! My bad... day is tracked but not last night dinner... will use up some of those points for sure! We went out! Not sure what will be tracked this weekend - with all the eating out and comings and goings! But I will be SENSIBLE and MINDFUL!
WI was a small loss of .4# this week! Gotta focus more!
{{{hugs}}} to you ♥ I have to admit... my sisters and I lost our DM so long ago... but we have our days where we (all three) agree that maybe losing Mom before she got "old" was a blessing in disguise. Not that we are at all happy to not have her here - but MAN, some older folks - my aunt for one - can be extremely difficult to deal with!!
WOW Sounds like a hectic busy day for you yesterday - glad you can have a day or 2 or 3, to just unwind a bit this weekend!
OK Must move now... need to stop at the transfer station on my way to relay meeting. After meeting Zoë and I will hit the grocery store. Trust me this is NOT a good idea - going to be a hectic CRAZY place! This store is always a mess - just BUSY - and just before a storm... UGH... making me anxious just thinking about it!
Maybe I should opt for Stop & Shop! A little out of the way - but might be easier to manage? Hmmm...
OK Chat later - ♥hugs♥

Good morning!
I am a little out of touch here--the early starts on Thurs/Fri to get to Sacramento early affected my morning time. Glad to be back and, having read the posts, pretty caught up. Brrr...34 degrees here today so it will be a cold, long run...not as long as others though. He cut me back a bit this week before picking it up the next two weeks. I like that about how he plans things to avoid injuries, etc. It'll be good to see everyone though and get the fresh air and DH and I can drive together. DS20 flew home yesterday for his 10 minute consult with the oral surgeon (yes, 10 minutes)--that was an expensive appointment. The surgeon is going to be out of town when DS has spring break so it is looking like it will be summer before it happens. As long as it all looks okay for that (which it apparently does). He flies home on Monday morning so I will have DS25, his GF, my mom all over for dinner on Sunday. Today we have a party starting at 3:00 pm so not too late---otherwise, I have some work-work to get done and hoping for a calm weekend. I have Monday off too but have to unlock the building for a training so I have to go into work to unlock and then lock the building....oh well!
Carole: I was so happy to see your news on FB about Matt! Hopefully, for your friend, this gives her hope for her daughter that she will reach a point too where they can see the light at the end of the tunnel. So glad that you and Ken are heading out to visits sites--you all enjoy that, we know! WOW to the company reprocessing checks!! I can't imagine what a mess that was. They are lucky that they could work with a smaller bank like yours to get that turned around quickly...someone may have taken some serious heat for that mistake though! Yep, sorry about the Patriots....everyone around here is super excited about the 49ers...I am kind of divided as I have always loved Green Bay -- I love that they are locally owned and that the quarterback is from near here. This is one of those games where I will be on the fence. And I can't make myself sit and watch--it will be on while I do other things. Good job with your tracking...I did not track yesterday so need to try to do that. Yep, it can be kind of different with zero point foods. I still track them to have the visual and I still weigh them--portion size is important. I think that it is important to be focused on feeling hunger or not. LOL, I don't put my scale away either---I get it! I feel for the employees having to make this decision, but it seems like a win for them. I would expect the owner to keep profits since he owns it and has to pay for all of the things that come up...this sounds almost like a "commission" for a sales person---I know that it is late in life and it's a change, but a year will be over before you know it. I think that Lisa mentioned to be sure it is in writing --- GREAT advice. Not only to be sure it's clear with the owner, but because there are other people (3 of them? and including a relative) and it could be pretty messy if there was a misunderstanding. Out of curiosity, what were the profits over the last few years? That might be interesting to know. Hope that you have a good day today!

Sue: Yay for getting the TV, etc. fixed! Again, those tech things are SO frustrating and time consuming. So glad that you had good service to get it all going and that it didn't consume your evening. Wow, so everything is cancelled due to the weather? It makes for a nice weekend though, right? We had a big storm come in on Thursday afternoon but they were saying "maybe" Thursday morning so I was being sent emails from my office (I was at a meeting in Sacramento) on Wednesday asking if they should cancel the trainings that my office was offering on Thursday....I was thinking, "Why on earth??? A chance of snow in the afternoon and we cancel a day of trainings that has been planned for months??" I tell you, it is probably good that I wasn't there because I think that some were being dramatic about the weather at the office. You would think we were in Alaska or something, LOL. Hope that you have a nice weekend and can enjoy some time at home without a busy schedule! Sounds like you had a good week!
Christine: Yay for Monday off! I have work-work to do as well but, with 3 days off, it doesn't seem so bad for some reason, huh? So glad that Linds had a great time and I hope that DM can see the pictures. It sounds like it was the perfect "college girlfriend" trip! That is what's kind of fun about L.A....there are a lot of different things to see there. Wow, I hadn't heard about the great insurance options. It's nice to hear and know! So glad that purple is working out for you and thank you for the reminder about fresh starts each day! I plan to look for some recipes this weekend. Ah yes, MAP testing! We have ours coming up in February. Our EL testing window is now Feb 1 - the end of the school year and CA's test is ridiculously difficult to administer. Now they are trying to make it an online test (for parts)...sort of a fiasco right now and, in CA, we have a LOT of ELs. Some of our districts have 200-300 of them. So, it's important testing to give. Hope that you have a good day today!
Okay girls, all of the reading took me a while and now I have to get ready to go. Will come back on later and finish up. Hope that your morning is a good one!

Happy Saturday all....slept terrible...I think I was cold since once I added an extra blanket at 5:00 am I went to sleep and slept until about 9:00.....lots of "red" on my FitBit to prove it was a VERY restless night. Still waiting for the "weather" to arrive....woke up to a little snow but then there was a little lull and it should be starting up again anytime now....couple hours of snow then the wintery mix/freezing rain stuff.....should be through by 6:00 or so....then just cold! Glad I don't need to go anywhere.
Got a roast in the crockpot....it's a pot roast kind of day!! Not much planned, just some purging and getting ready for Karen and Bobby to arrive in a few weeks. Plan to start this afternoon in the big bedroom where the boys usually sleep as that will be where Karen & Bobby sleep....want to get all the cloths in drawers/closet instead of just choosing clothes off the bed....when you don't use the bed, it's easy to just set the piles on there.....basically, just lazy!! If I can get that room organized and picked up today it will be a success!! Only real goal for the day!!
Shelly....glad you got a chance to pop in last night....so scary to drive in icy conditions. That's why I'm glad I have no where to go today...I have a feeling that is what the roads will be like by mid to late afternoon here! So glad Chesney is home and both she and Nathan are doing better! Fingers crossed they continue to improve.
Carole...sorry for the internet issues this morning....has it always been that way that only one of you can be on your computer at a time?? We have Comcast internet.....pretty much our only option too but over the years it has improved and the only time we have issues is when David's gang is here and the computer is going, iPads, iPhones, other tablets.....it gets slow and bogs down. Thankfully with just the two of us Jason can be on the computer and me on my iPad with no issues. You are right...today is NOT the day to deal with them! Never realized how limited the service was out there.
Carole...glad you are stepping away a bit from the Relay leaving your choice to go up to you and not out of obligation because you are the committee.
Christine....please don't send those winds our way....we had them Thursday with those crazy gusts.... Hopefully your weather doesn't get too bad today. Yes, black ice is the worst....it sneaks up on you and if not careful, you have no control of the car. We are getting the same slop today and it will go up to about 40° around midnight then bottom out for the next few days.....thankfully the weather will be done before the super cold temps come. Oh my Christine....I totally get your feelings about spending time with your DM....I struggle with the guilt of not really wanting to spend time with her....she does nothing but drag me down and make me feel like I don't really matter....always negative. Sometimes I can shake it off...other times it just gets to me! Hugs my friend. Well, we all know Linds is the favorite so I'm sure she will be on her best behavior when you share the pictures of her trip!!

Carole....no worries about not catching up with Thursday....sometimes you just can't do it!! Sorry your Thursday was so ugly and followed right into Friday....yes, the OT is great but sometimes the headaches that come with it make you wonder if it is worth it!! Carole...you can log on from your phone and it knows you...sometimes it's not as easy though...it just made me laugh yesterday when I saw the too different log in names! Enjoy your trip to Westboro tomorrow...sometimes you do just have to "get away"! Hey, I vote for SC in April and TN in July....sounds perfect!
Glad Ken only has to commit to the one year at that store....at least it won't impact his retirement plans since he won't hit retirement age for a bit, right?? I forget how old he is now!! WOW, the time study sounds interesting...Amanda HAS to know that Kaitlin spends more time doing nothing than actually working....but then again, Kaitlin knows how to "play the game" and with her and Amanda "buddies" it will likely take the "overworked Kaitlin" spin.... Yes, the old version of 3 minute intervals could be easily doctored and honestly, this way might be harder for Kaitlin to prove she is actually overworked....will be eager to see how it all plays out!! Enjoy your 2 days of peace and quiet on Wednesday/Thursday!! LOL!
Carole....you admitted to having a tough week and still showing a loss, even though small is a good thing.....it shows that you don't need to be perfect to be successful. Keep up the good work!
Gabrielle....yup, 34° will definitely be a cold run today at least it's not rainy, right??? We live in an area where we always get snow in the winter and people still panic when the flakes start to fly.....it's crazy!! Bummer Max has to wait until summer to get his wisdom teeth done but as long as they are not causing issues I guess it's not a problem. Glad you can have a nice dinner with everyone before he heads back to school on Monday. You really have to go to the building to unlock and lock it....is there no one else that is attending the training that could do it?? Yes...all in all my week was good....busy for the most part but now I'm going to need to scramble to get the rest of my stuff done once the final financial reports come out....I have everything done with the reports I do have but until the finance department sends out their stuff I'm at a stand still.
This week we had a TON of "big wigs" in the building and lots of planning for 2020....that had Paul, Todd and many of the other management occupied for most of Tuesday/Wednesday then straight through from 8:00 am Thursday until noon on Friday....that's why the financials are not done.
Next week is a crazy week....Monday I have to call my finance guy at 4:30 pm before I head home so we can get things transferred from my 401k at work to another investment that they can handle....also will make arrangements to put the annuity $$$ I got from the Brethren Home into my Roth IRA so it can continue to grow tax-free for several more years. I could find use for the $3000 but since it was originally a retirement investment, letting it grow until retirement and now tax-free makes the most sense. The $$$ will max out my 2019 contributions since we can't afford to max it out ourselves plus it will add some "catch up" funds since I am over 55 years old. Tuesday is free....Wednesday we head to the American Music Theater to see "Dancing With the Stars LIVE"! Can't wait!! Thursday I had to take 2 hours vacation to have the cancer taken off my neck...then Friday I think I'm free again!!
Waves Jenny, Jo, Lisa, Amy and anyone else I might have missed....will pop in later with a "purging update"! LOL! Time for lunch and get moving!

Had lunch....washed the front windowsill because it was driving me nuts....purged a few things from the little bedroom and got rid of some clutter in the kitchen/dining room....will soon head to the big bedroom but for now it is warming up....since we don't put the heat on in the room unless the boys are here it's cold....it's fine to run in and grab you clothes in the morning but not hang out in there for any length of time so I turned the heat up and will let it warm up a bit and then I'm heading in there. Jason has been doing the same thing....we've both been busy for hours but not looking like much has been done....sometimes purging and decluttering is like that....can be productive but doesn't look like much!
Roast is really starting to smell yummy....can't wait for supper.
We didn't get much snow but now the sleet and freezing rain is falling and you can see ice building up on some surfaces and some windows in the garage....still better that things got cancelled. Honestly haven't seen but one or two cars go up or down the street all day. It looks so gloomy and cold out there!
Need to gather the last few things that didn't get folded in the last load of laundry and take care of them when the bedroom gets the chill taken off! While I wish I could have painted today and then gone to visit with friends, we both are enjoying the day we are forced to stay home!!
