SIMPLE Sunday... Woke to about 4" of snow, will take time to clean up around here before we hit the road. Supposed to be sunny and up to 40s later today, so a good day to get out of town I guess. So many church cancellations today - for only 4" of snow!?? Seems odd to me...
Yesterday was not a good WW day for me - so "Starting Over" today! UGH! Between the meeting - the crazy hectic grocery store - then home and trying to do a weekends worth of laundry and chores in one day - before heading to a birthday party - in the snow - it was just a lost cause kind of day!! I did get over 6k steps! Today I will focus on water and healthier meal choices!
Feeling kind of bummed... I emailed the brothers and SILs yesterday - to see who wanted to get together today/tonight, since they are not doing the brewery thing, just tel me the time and place... only 1 SIL replied! She said "i'd love to get together"... Ummm, OK... when and where??? Kinda feeling like they don't want to see us after all! SO we may be going to a couple of stores to grab a few things - then out to dinner and then to the hotel! Oh well... we'll figure something out I guess!
OK Going to refill my coffee - flip laundry and be back to catch up! ♥

Tracy just got home - said roads are fine... so plans going forward!
Gabrielle: Hope yesterdays run was good - not too cold once you got going. YAY for DS20 being home again...LOL For a 10 minute consult! UGH! How nice to have a family dinner today! Oh you too? Work - work?? Doesn't seem fair you are the only one that can unlock and lock the building! How far is it from home??
OH yes, my friend Norma - knows her DD has a long year ahead, but her Stage 1 tumor has already been removed. This is follow up due to her HR2 gene and the aggressive cancer it can be. We both know it's all "different" for each of our kids - and we just know the support we each need as "the Mom"!
HA! Well the "profits " from the store are so VERY different over the past several years... but... the current owner has been paying for his home equity, his truck, and several other "personal" things out of the store account, so 2019 had a profit of only like $2-3k! That is LAUGHABLE! They just (past 2 years) have bought a house - put on an addition - added a in ground pool and have had landscaping up the wazoo done - so yeah... store profits are certainly better than HIS books show!!
So far - the new owner, who had GRAND ideas for the store... has backed down some on some of the things he wanted to change/add. Now he is asking the employees what they want! He will continue to improve the buildings - and leave the inventory and the store up to them... and the 5 of them are all making decisions on inventory - which they KNOW has been failing the past few years. Current owner never wanted to spend too much on inventory - but you can't sell it if you don't have it!
Anyway - yes... once everything is finalized - I think it can be a good thing... just "new"!

LOL about cancelling before even knowing what kind of storm was actually coming in!
Sue: Sorry for the bad sleep - but hey a good 4 hours from 5-9? Nothing wrong with that! Especially with no where to go!
LOL Yes, I too have "that spot" where things pile up!
No - this internet issue is "new"! Today there is no issue - we are both on line, and Tracy is on her phone too... just so sketchy out here! Yeah - and to be honest, in this day and age - it should NOT be like this - even out here!! Heck it's only within the last year we got cell service out here!
Ken will be 64 next week... so far he is planning on working until 67 (I think it is), but with all the upheaval who knows. He also will play it by ear with his knee. IF he wants/needs TKR, he really has to do it after he retires - due to no Short Term Disability... so time off for that would really be an issue. So far, he is not feeling the rush for the surgery, so he's not thinking about it at this point!
Thanks - I know where my focus needs to be, and yesterday it was just gone... back on track today though!
Sounds like a busy week - but glad you know what you are doing with the finance guy, decisions are already made!
YAY for Jason being home and having a day to putter too! Yes, LOL Decluttering is like that - you KNOW you have gotten a lot done - but no one can actually SEE it!

OK Need to get moving - time to throw last load of laundry in the dryer... and fold/hang what comes out! Zoë is still in bed, just starting to "move around" now... watching her wake up (monitor) is kind of comical! She will grab the blanket and pull it up over her head - like trying to keep the sun out of her eyes... then just laying there wiggling around... fighting it - it seems! LOL
Need to figure out what to throw in the suitcase... and get the snow cleanup going... then we can think about hitting the road!
So weird to NOT have a plan - or a schedule, we never just get in the car and go! LOL
Might CBL, since I don't have a clue what is going on... tomorrow we have to be back in town for Ken's eye appointment - so we will be more scheduled!
♥hugs♥

Good morning from COLD but sunny Glenville....
Weather is over and we just have a crust of snow/sleet mix on the grassy areas but roads seem to be fine....Jason is a church to usher....only one more week and then he can sleep in as usual on Sunday mornings.....he was lucky this weekend with the "weather" he didn't work yesterday so did take advantage and slept in.
Carole....glad the 4" of snow are not going to keep you from getting away for the day/overnight...I'd be bummed too if I got such a lack-luster response to your email to DB/DSIL and getting together. Does the hotel have hot tub....if so, just take advantage and relax and enjoy some time away from the chaos!! Let go of the "bad day" yesterday....it's over and today is the new beginning....focus, water and healthy choices are the way to do it!! Remember...even eating out tonight you can and WILL make good choices. If you know what restaurant you are heading to.....check out the menu before you leave today and go in with a plan so you don't even have to look at the menu and possibly be swayed to another "less healthy" option!!
I'm sure it's hard with your friend Norma with the same scary news of a child with cancer. Yes, all cancers are different, all bodies respond differently to treatment...I'm sure she is glad to have the support of a another "mom" going through the same thing.
LAUGHABLE is an understatement for the profit of $2-3k in 2019....can't believe the owner is using store profits to pay for all his personal expenses.....hope that STOPS with this new plan of managers...would not be fair to them to work their butts off for a minimal profit at year end. I'm glad the owner is finally asking for some input from the employees that have worked there for YEARS and know how the place "ticks"!! You are right....if you don't have it there to sell, you can't sell it....inventory is key!! Fingers crossed once all is settled it is a smooth positive transition for Ken, DS and rest of the employees.
Thankfully Carole I slept better last night...surprisingly I wasn't too draggy yesterday with the lack of sleep....I did crash early but I had already "called it a day" around supper time so if I had fallen asleep by 7:00 pm it would not have mattered to me.
I wonder if part of the internet issue yesterday might have been the weather?? I know weather sometimes causes issues with our internet and satellite. As a matter of fact, last night with the sleet/freezing rain the "eye" of the satellite got covered with ice so Jason had to go out and spray it with water after the temps came up above freezing...doesn't happen often and it's annoying....thankfully we still had DVRd stuff or "On Demand".... crazy how yesterday was such a hassle and today all of you are "surfing" like normal! Gotta love living in the boonies!
Well Carole...on a positive note for Ken....after the one year commitment to the store, he will be 65 and able to get Medicare.....I think if I remember right Ken, like Jason, is on your insurance. Hopefully his knee holds out until he retires and the new plan for the store works well so Ken can be in control of his choices for retirement and not forced to change HIS plans. Definitely with no STD it would be hard....heck, I only had 60% STD for my TKRs and that took us YEARS to bounce back from each time....
LOL...yes, Jason and I know how much we accomplished yesterday but others would not have noticed much!! Looking forward to keeping the process going and finally get the "purging" done to a point that when we do the addition/makeover the process will not be slowed down by the need to get rid of stuff before we can start.
Glad Zoe is giving you a little "quite time" this morning....I'm sure it's funny to watch a toddler "wake up"....that's probably what you'd see with me too...trying to "fight morning"!! Hey, today is a new adventure....I know we usually have a "plan" before venturing out too but this might be fun! Do you have your hotel already?? Safe travels today and enjoy the day!!
Time to make some breakfast, grab another cup of coffee and get my "plan" for the day....waves to all yet to come....hope all have a great day! Will pop in later...leaving here about 1:15 pm for my jar painting...

Good afternoon!
I had every intention of getting on here yesterday after our run except that we got home and noon and had to leave at 2:00 for the team "party" ---and I still had to assemble a salad. Wow the day flew by! Went to WW this morning (more on that in a minute) and then shopping. For dinner today I am making Turkey Chili Verde and a Vegetarian Chili. I will also make a green salad and cornbread. DS25 and his GF are coming a bit early as the 49er/Green Bay game will be on. I need to tell my DM as she'll want to be here early too---my only hesitation is that I'll be making dinner and I know that she will be standing and asking me a LOT of questions about what I am making and offering "advice" about how to do things differently---it really does drive me crazy. DH doesn't want me to tell her that they are coming a bit early, but I will feel guilty if I don't. So, I will suck it up and remain silent and maybe she won't do it after all??? We will see.
So, at WW today, we talked about tracking and had a conversation about WW, how all of the points, etc. are "guidelines", and how you might need to "tweak" your weeklies that they suggest if you don't see the loss that you are looking for. It was a good meeting! Tracking without judgement was a key idea....track for the information and do NOT beat yourself up--use it to see how it is working for you.
Carole: Have a wonderful trip. So sorry for the lackluster response from Ken's family---it does sound like the one is interested in meeting though if you reach out when you get there? Regardless, I know that it will be nice to get away! Loved reading about Zoe's "wake up routine"....what a cute little personality she has! LOL, yes, we ALL survived the "horrific" one-day snowy event! Sheesh, have people forgotten that it is JANUARY?? Wow about the owner's spending patterns. I wonder....will there be something in writing about how much he gets from profits? I mean, maybe they can agree that he takes a "salary" of some kind and the rest is profits. Or, he takes X% at most? That just seems shady.... I don't know, I am not a business woman! I hope that Ken sticks with 67 for retirement....and happy early birthday to Ken! I look forward to the photos that I hope you post! I love seeing those photos from out your way!

Sue: Wow, you had me exhausted after reading all that you did yesterday! I love those kinds of days though. I just told DH today that I sure could handle a 4-day work week! I already work 12 hours most days as it is, but it will never be a 4-day week (I accept it I am trying to not stack things on the extra bed, but I know that it is hard. I have a couple of closets that need serious attention---I need to get rid of so many things from the boys. I need their help with it too so that I don't throw away something that they planned to save. Hope that you have another good day today--and that the weather is cooperative!
Shelly: I hope that you got some time off today! So the Chesney is home? How frightening -- that RSV is terrible stuff. I wonder if, after Chesney's health was early on, if it will be the case that it will take some years for her respiratory system to catch up? My DS25 used to get TERRIBLE croup every single time he started getting a cold. After about age 5 he finally got past it but it was really terrible...hours of sitting up in a steamy bathroom or out in the cold air wrapped in blankets and I was so worried. Just glad that both kids are doing better.
Christine: I was thinking about you today and feeling so lucky that we have access to whole wheat EVERYTHING in CA in most every grocery store. I guess it is the crazy California way of eating that has caused it, but I am grateful after reading how hard it is to find whole wheat pasta for you. I am considering starting to buy some of my pantry items online from one of the vendors...if I order enough, I can get free shipping and save money too. Considering it! Hope that you didn't have to work too much today and that you are enjoying day 2 of your 3-day weekend!
Lisa: How are you doing this weekend? Any good movies that you are seeing? I always love to hear what you all are up to!
Okay, time to go and get started on the chili. See you all tomorrow...have a good evening!
