meal at Texas Roadhouse. What do you usually get there? We love that place. 6 oz sirloin, salad, veggies. Nice and simple. Since Toots likes his meal well-done and I like mine rare, steak-OUT is the way to go for us. But we haven't been in ages (it's not too close). We have a gift card on which we want to check/use up the balance.

Great choice and win win....getting what you both enjoy and the gift card sweetens the pot.

Late today...had to unplug due to thunder and lightning this morning and just remembered I had not checked in. What I need to do is close the kitchen NOW...this weather is conducive to eating too much!
Made spinach with onions and bulgur and also some pasta with tomato sauce and TVP - If I have anything else it will probably be beans and grains. Hubby brought home leeks so I need to figure out what to do with them as I have never cooked them before.

Cathy hope you don't lose power. I know what you mean in avoiding the kitchen. Take care.

Sent photo off to my surgeon and he is pleased with how it 'looks'. I'm to continue applying the antibiotic ointment. Just thought I'd share!
Back to the sectional and the kindle. This is how I plan on spending the day. Although we are out of the negative temperature...it's still far to cold at 0!

Bee and Susi, your breakfasts are exotic compared to mine. I tend to eat the same one Monday through Friday. Currently it is two scrambled eggs with 1T cheese, fresh fruit and coffee. Cathy, I hope you maintain your power. My son uses leeks instead of onions in recipes. They are milder. Bee. Frday at the fish restaurant my side dish was acorn squash filled with diced sweet potato and dukkah, a grain. It was very tasty. Last night I roasted golden beets and served them at room temp over lettuce with a sprinkling of goat cheese and walnuts. Ann, so happy the surgeon is pleased with your photos. June, great goals today. MJ, I hope you find an appropriate charm. Susi, I hope Midnight continues to get better. Tracked through Wednesday is great. Becky, stay as warm as possible today. Lily Belle's groomer is coming soon and she will be done before the trip to the oral surgeon. At least it was warmer when we walked, 42 degrees.

Audrey happy the grooming will be done before you leave for DH oral surgery. I would love a temp of 42.
I'm making out my grocery list for Hannafords. Hopefully we'll get there tomorrow. Just not up to it today!

Cathy - Potato leek soup is one of my favorites. The biggest issue is you MUST clean the leeks well. www.skinnytaste.com/potato-leek-soup. You can substitute vegetable broth or stock for the chicken broth. Ann - Glad the surgeon is pleased with your progress That side dish sounds quite tasty Audrey. I eat eggs a lot for breakfast but like to mix things up. I made a 4 serving frittata that I will have tomorrow and Wednesday for breakfast and freeze the other 2 portions.

Ann Terrific-- happy that you had an encouraging report from the doctor. A relaxing day in a warm home is a pleasant way to pass a cold winter day.
Audrey Thinking of you as Bob undergoes oral surgery.
Cathy Having a routinue set on its head can certainly draw us toward the kitchen. Good luck discovering how to enjoy the leeks.
Mj Super that you are taking time today to commemorate your maintenance benchmarks w/ beads using gift cards & a steak dinner out!
Susi Your culinary skills always impress! Hope the vet agrees to another run of antibiotics for Midnight.

Okey dokey Tackled a list of phone calls, paperwork, and such. Made headway, so that's a plus. Time to shift gears.
Waving hi to Pam & LaDonna

Just got off with the vet. We are going to put her on 10 more days of meds. Hopefully it helps or at least buys time until after Jack's wellness exam on Friday. Vet bills the past 6 months are killing me!

Bad news for Bob. He needs three implants and just had the broken tooth extracted today. He has had other extractions in that part of his mouth and would need a partial if he doesnβt get the implants. Our dentist is recovering from throat cancer and only works on Friday. Bob will get his opinion then.

Time to relax June. Not fun with the insurance. Sorry to hear that Audrey. I know implants can be pricey.
