No time to sit and chat but wanted to get us started....I chose the title based on Gabrielle's WW meeting topic discussion yesterday! Seems even WW knows that all of us are not that same and need to "tweak" and mix things up to make the "guidelines" fit for us....so here were go ladies! "MIX IT UP" and see what works for you!!
Carole must be enjoying a little extra sleep today on her day off....
It's a REALLY cold one here today...in the low teens feeling like single digits with the winds....I knew it was cold when the kick-space heater was running this morning!!
Tonight's the night I have to call our finance guy after work so will be a little late getting on here.
Everyone that has today off....enjoy and carve out a little time for you!!

Good Morning ~ brrr to the cold temps here too! We got hit hard yesterday with non-stop snow for 24 hours. I mean, NON - STOP and yes, once again, Erie, PA made the news on Good Morning America for snow fall and accidents on I-90. Depends on your neighborhood with snow amounts - I think we have over 8 inches here but I'm sure DM got double that in her area south of I-90 (our snowbelt).... I stayed put yesterday as the roads were ice under the snow. Poor Linds had to work 6:00 AM but the weather was not too bad at that time of morning - snow just kept falling and falling - definitely NOT like in the Hallmark movies lol Then Carly grumbled she HAD to go with Ben to his father's for dinner celebration of a sister's birthday. She tried to cancel but Ben was pretty hurt so together we dug her car out - she text later to say she arrived slow going but safe. So now I'll need to dig MY car out lol for DH to go to work. BUT I don't mind as I am off work today!!! Hooray!!! And I finished my work-work project over weekend which leaves me the entire day to 'play'...the weather has cleared, it's sunny and cold but no more heavy snow fall - so we are going shopping for Linds to get some outfits for her internship (business casual) and catch the movie Frozen II - the Girls loved loved loved the original and used to sing every song! lol AND they were in high school!! Oh well...I love going to the movies so not complaining as I get to spend time with my girls

Lindsey has a very light load of classes this semester thanks to taking her online Winter course - she has a 9-credit Internship (so she'll be scheduled 20-24 hr a week there), one online class, and one Senior Internship Seminar that meets Mondays at 3:00. Which is why she HAD to find an internship near campus as the weather in winter/spring around here is too iffy to travel just for one mandatory class. Plus she has her apartment paid through July. She heads back tomorrow some time since she really has nothing going on until a training this Thursday.
Looking at graduate school programs with her. This internship agency offers to pay for your Master's degree but she does not yet know what they require in return (3-5 yr commitment?) and she doesn't really know yet WHAT she'll be doing there other than part of their clinical counseling team. So everything is on hold. Unfortunately, the one grad program she is thinking about requires applications by February 15 which is fast approaching. I'm thinking she should take a 'gap' year rather than rush into a program.
Carly is off today too. YAY!
I tracked my day. Yesterday I spent some time reading different recipes - I found some Mexican dishes I may like for lunches - sort of copying the Chipotle restaurant theme as I really like their rice bowls or salad bowls - so I'm making sure I have ingredients for tossing together some different dishes.
WI was way way UP this week - not getting hard on self as that is not productive - looking at my Tracker I see a lot of high sodium dishes and LOTS of snacking. Will focus on more protein, less snacks! this week. Fingers crossed I get the green light this week from orthopedic surgeon to get out of this boot! I really want to get back out there walking ColbyGirl!!!

Carole - hooray for a short trip out of town!! Hopefully this snow did not hold you up! WE really got hit hard - but the sun is out today which makes everyone's moods better Gabrielle - I agree with the WW topic of discussion this week. I saw on the website that Tracking is a guide NOT a score card! I love that!! It changes my whole perspective and encourages me to do better NOT judge myself for straying outside the Points. It's NOT a score card! I'll write that down and post it. lol Sue - thanks for starting us today. And yes, so glad your weather was not as nasty as predicted. Just another day in January here Okay - gotta get ready to clear snow off cars to move them around. Glad we did not park in the street as that would be buried under the street snowplows!! This will be fine - chat with you later ~

Good morning!
Heading in shortly to disarm/unlock the building at work and start up the heater so that the training will be comfortable. I decided to let myself sleep in a bit (since it IS a day off). We will date DS20 to the airport after I get back home and then hoping to convince DH to run on the trail in town with me. I have a doctor's appt at 2:00 pm (annual exam) too---so much for sitting around on my day off! I do have work-work to do this afternoon. The dinner with everyone was good last night. I made two kinds of chili--vegan and a Turkey Chili Verde (only 1 pt on WW for the purple plan--you can Google it). So we were going to start at 5:00 but I forgot to factor in the start time for the 49er/Green Bay game so DM and DS25/GF got here closer to 4:00 as I was cooking. It took a while to tend to guest and get the chili finished (my last hour for cooking was kind of messed up) but it worked out. Glad that we had everyone over.
Sue: Thanks for starting us off today--it sounds cold there! We actually got up to 49 degrees yesterday and were marveling at how warm it was, LOL. It will be similar today. Hope that the day is a good one and your meeting with the finance guy goes well---you are so organized with all of that so I am sure that it will. See you later!
Christine: Yay for having all of your work done! Oh wow, how could I have forgotten that you were STILL in that boot! Yes, I do hope that you get it off soon! We will be crossing our fingers for you when you see the orthopedic person this week. Sounds like a nice semester for Linds to start feeling the results of her hard work in college---nice! I love it when the kids can actually see that the work pays off by doing something that they have been thinking about. Wow, Feb 15th is right around the corner--lots of decisions would need to be made by then. Sounds like a fun day for you today and well-deserved. Enjoy your movie and time with the girls. I need to track my dinner for last night and I will be done with yesterday--also want to start pre-tracking more--I like being "planned" so I think that will work for me. I also love that idea that tracking is not keep a scorecard! Good job evaluating and adjusting--you are doing so well! Hope that you have a wonderful day off and that the snow lets up for a bit.
Hello to all who follow. Need to get ready and head in --just want it to be a little light. There are a lot of homeless people who wander around our offices at night so I don't want to unexpectedly encounter someone while alone in the dark! Have a good day!

Good morning! Cold and a bit of light snow here in Illinois this morning. I think our high is 24 today. I have to go to the grocery store and call the attorney's office again (if they are open). They never got back to me since Thursday, so it's time to follow up.
Sue-thanks for starting us up. Is it time for taxes with the financial guy or more retirement planning? I am feeling like we are getting more on track again after the holiday bills are getting paid off.
Christine-I've about had enough snow for the winter. I think I did see that on Good Morning America. Yay for a day off!
Gabrielle-Like Sue, I liked the comment about tweaking the points and looking to the tracker as just a guide not to be too strict on yourself to the point you feel bad. I have done that for sure, but it's easier to get back on the wagon when you start each day with a new screen of points allotted.
Carole-hope that you got to sleep in!
So I went wedding dress shopping with Grace, Tiffany's mom (she plays bar bingo with the kids), and Amy, another one of the bridesmaids and also her and her hubby have been friends with the kids for a long time. David's bridal had a $99 special on discontinued dresses, and she got a dress for $99. It will need some altering, but it is beautiful on her and a veil that matched was $200. Grace and Geoff had gone to a wedding expo yesterday afternoon and got a $50 off coupon from David's, so they used that, and then Amy decided to buy it all for her as their wedding present! We went out to dinner then (Geoff met up with us) and I bought because I was so happy since they are still looking for a venue but now she has a dress. I was thinking they would be funky styles leftover, but she actually tried on a couple others that were very nice.
Putting out chile-lime marinated tenderized pork chops to thaw for dinner. They are thin and I trim the fat off so not too many points. Not sure what's going to be on the menu with that...maybe get something at the store this morning?
I have been losing a couple of pounds then gaining it back...still heading in a better direction than without WW.

Gabrielle-sounds like a busy day. I love chili in any form, and that's a great idea...maybe I will get some fixin's for it! My hubby was sad that his Packers lost, but he kind of expected them to.
I forgot - update on Julie's sprained ankle, not broken, and she is borrowing a boot from a friend to try. But she sent a picture of her ankle and it was very black and blue. No word yet on when or how they are going to do the gender reveal.

Evening all...well, chatted with Simon but when we went to call Merrill Lynch...they were closed for the holiday! UGH! Needless to say, we will chat again tomorrow, same time to roll over the 401k.
Gabrielle...your menu for Sunday dinner sounds yummy....glad you got to spend some extra time with Tyler and GF...fingers crossed DM didn't offer too much advice. My DMIL used to do that....drove me nuts! Unfortunately, I'm like you...a 4 day week will never happen for me! Just have to muddle through with our 5 day weeks for a few more years!! When the girls moved out, they had to take anything in their bedrooms they wanted but not until they moved into their first home did they have to go through all the boxes and tubs in the basement....had to laugh when they would say..."why did I save this"?? Most of the stuff was stuff I told them to toss when they went to put it in the box in the first place!
Christine...8 inches of snow is plenty. I heard on the TODAY show today that the lake effect snow was clobbering many! We got about an inch at most but then covered with some ice....thankfully we had a little warm up over night on Saturday so the ice melted off the roads but the grassy areas are still icy and crunchy! Glad the girls were safe in their travel yesterday....I'm sure Carly was not thrilled with heading out for a birthday party but I know Ben appreciated the fact she came!
Glad you got all your work work done over the weekend so you could have today for you!! Hope Linds found some nice outfits! I'll be curious to hear your "take" on Frozen 2...Carole is still the only one I've heard say she liked the original better....everyone else says the 2nd is better...even ALL MY BOYS!! And the boys loved the original! Glad Linds took the extra winter class to lighten up her load for spring....I'm sure she'll figure out grad school, yes, February 15th is right around the corner!
Christine...glad you are not beating yourself up over the WI this week but using your tracker to tweak and refocus on other choices. I love the burrito bowls at Chipotle...they are so huge though so I always make 2 meals out of them...I'm sure they contain more sodium than if I make them myself and I could "lighten" them up if made it at home but I'm lazy and stop there. Thankfully it's out of my way so I don't do it very often!

Gabrielle...still crazy you have to head to school today on your day off to open up the building! Glad dinner went well despite the timing of the game and guests arriving....no one went hungry and you got to spend time together so it's all good! Yes, it is cold here and barely any warmer at the end of the day....21° when I drove to work....27° when I came home!
Lisa...you are cold just like us! But we can't complain too much....Hannah has a high today of 4° but it feels like -21°....THAT is cold!! Yes, I got my W-2 last week and Jason should get his on Wednesday.....I have our bank statements and church statement.....only a couple more things and I can get out taxes done. I always get them "almost done" and have to wait until early February for the statement from our investments....then I just plug in the info and hit send. BUT....last year because of taxes law changes we didn't itemize so I'm thinking that I might just be able to do them now and not have to wait for that statement...it's never enough of a deduction to matter much!
Lisa...both my girls got great deals at David's bridal as well....with everything they both got out of there for well under $500....will admit, not sure why any bride spends a FORTUNE on a dress they wear for hours....my girls looked beautiful for so much less! Glad Julie's ankle is not broken....hope it heals quickly!
Need some dinner and want to put my feet up...was out in the plant again today and I'm beat!! I have a feeling I'll be asleep in no time....
Waves to all I missed....hope all had a great day!

New dentist tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes. Hoping they can save my tooth and not to much other stuff needs done.
