This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good Morning All and Happy MLK day...kind of a rough night...keep struggling with the cold/whatever -trying to fight it before it really takes hold. I made it to my gym class. I have one errand and then I am in for most of the day to read. Jeez it is c-c-cold. I told DD that I would not be coming over for the walk this morning - ha! OK...fixing my coffee and then off to the bank and Ulta.

Hi Everyone, Susie, sorry you that you didn't sleep well last night. I am going to skip the movie today since I just saw it after Christmas ( Little Women) and meet later at my sister's for pizza and ice cream. I think I will go to the gym in a bit since I didnt go yesterday and in advance of the pizza and ice cream. We still have plans for next weekend on Sunday before my sister and brother in law go back on Monday. I have been wanting to stop at the Giant near the gym as well but it was so cold on Thursday I just went home. It's pretty cold today too today but I have more time if I am not going to the movies. I may throw a load of wash in too even though I dont have too much but need my pants for the week. I started reading the book about the grandmother who hiked the Appalachian trail. Some parts are a bit dry as it is more informational but the parts she talks about while hiking are better. There are some places that I am familiar with since I have either hiked on the part she mentioned or have been in the same area when I have gone on trips. The book is called Grandma Gatewood's Walk by Ben Montgomery for anyone who may be interested in possibly reading it. Have a great day!

Good morning friends.
I hope everyone who has today off has a good day, leading into a short work week. Dh had a C.T. scan this morning as part of the pre-op for his mouth surgery. We don't have it scheduled yet, but insurance has approved, so it probably won't be too far away.
It's cold here as well. Currently 23 with a wind chill of 13. That's actually warmer than it was when Mark headed out this morning.
I need some grocery stuff, but that's not happening this morning. Loading and unloading the groceries in this cold and wind is not at all attractive. Haha!
Susie - I hope you're able to fight off the cold or whatever it is that's making you feel bad.
Janet - I've been thinking about taking my MIL to see Little Women. If you decide to see it, let me know what you think.

Well, It was pretty clear that it wasn't going to get much warmer (currently 27 with 17 wind chill), so I bucked up and went grocery shopping. You'd think if it's this cold, we'd at least get a snow day out if it. haha!

Good evening all. Lora, I enjoyed Little Women - it's a little confusing at times because it flips back and forth over a 7 year period but once you catch on, it's very enjoyable. Without knowing your MIL I think she'd enjoy it. Do you agree, Janet? Sorry about the frigid temps - your weather is colder than ours today and it's not all that pleasant here but at least we were in the low 30's for most of the day. Just a biting wind at times...
Susie, feel better soon, glad you didn't attempt the walk outdoors today but even the gym sounds like it might have been taxing if you're sick. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight - that helps fix everything I think.
Janet, that book sounds great - I loved Wild by Cheryl Strayed, love hiking stories, especially by women. Will like it even more to read about someone my age doing the hiking! Thanks for the recommendation. I just finished the 4th in the series about the investigator/detective Maisie Dobbs and have 4 more to go in the series. They're interesting and charming and I'm learning a lot about England's experience of WW I which I really didn't know much about. It's not gory or anything but it had a really traumatic impact on the whole population.
I had a good day, personal training, lunch with dear friends, and then some shopping at Old Navy (40% off sale on active wear, although DD points out they always have sales like that going on) and I got 2 pairs of workout pants. My old ones are barely presentable since I'm wearing them so often these days. I also stopped at the Skechers outlet and got a couple of pairs of sneaker-type shoes to wear for work (that's all I wear these days) and I was too tired to stop at Kohl's but DN had a 30% off coupon and I had a $15 one so I had to spend those today and got workout tops, a pair of boots, and a pair of sneakers for working out. It's lucky I'm going back to work tomorrow...
I have a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning, am getting a TDP shot. Ugh. At least my blood pressure has been good - I've been taking it here and there at home and it's clear that I have white coat syndrome when in the doctor's office, which is a relief.
And then back to work. Short week at least.
Have a good evening, all.

Went to DD's this evening for a late Christmas celebration (DS's family was sick so they didn't get to exchange gifts with DD's family) AND ODGD (13) and DSon's (42) birthday's day week. It was really nice and DH was able to get into the house with just me helping him. It was very simple and low-key and I really enjoyed it. I "might" go to the gym tomorrow morning, but I think it is supposed to be about 19 degrees when I head out, so maybe not. I will go to Tap though (since I didn't go last week), then I have Bible study from 1-3, a meeting at 3:30, and Bridge at 6:00 so another busy day.
Andi - you did great at those sales...wow a $15 coupon plus 30 off. Good luck at the Dr's office tomorrow...glad the BP has been good. I think I need to look into the Maisie Dobbs books...
