Good morning... T.G.I.F.!
Looking forward to a "normal" day! As much as I loved being in Amanda's office, I need my stand up desk! UGH MY BACK!! Literally I was putting a piece of paper on Crystal's desk and my back went out! She saw it!! LOL Yup, just a piece of paper!! Just twisted wrong... still twinges today, so I think standing up will help today! Then I need a few things for Sunday, so Ken will go to Wal-Mart with me (and Zoë) tonight. Tomorrow I won't have to leave the house! Just cooking and cleaning!!
Sue: Glad you enjoyed the show, and YAY for turning right! Hoping the basal cell removal went fine.
Gabrielle: OMGoodness! Midnight??? Sorry DH wasn't a happy driver... but glad you enjoyed the show!! LOL I sometimes think I slept better than Fitbit thinks I did! Ahhh, the sunny office was heaven! Yes, earbuds are a must for me these days!
Yes, Tracy & I will head to Boston Tuesday night - with Matt, Patti & Zoë. Matt wants to take Zoë this time - in case he doesn't need the February chemo. I think he wants his chemo staff to meet her. I wasn't thinking this was a good time to be away - but, hey, he asked!
I'd love to see a lighter version of Shepherd's Pie! I rarely make my potatoes with butter and milk any more, so that lightens it a bit.
LOL I agree... the no wine may not be helping much "yet" but I expect it will certainly "kick in" at some point!
Hmmm, well my niece's daughter has been in-patient before... for throwing things, etc., and trying to hurt others! I'll be honest - it kind of scares me a bit to think about taking her away for an overnight next month! I am trying to see it as good for her - to spend time with Eden and Zoë, but it does worry me a bit!
Sue: Yes, the good thing about the new management of the store is, they all still get their regular paychecks! IF there is profit at the end of the year - it's just extra money! Like my profit-sharing that I get every year... oh speaking of which, that should be in my account today!
UGH My only options at work are Single or Family. So I am paying the same for the 2 of us, that another gal pays for her and her husband and 4 children!! If it were only $50.00 there would be no question, but since it is a LOT more than that - he will be looking at other options! Then I can go to single and maybe come out ahead!
OH yes, Sunday will be a full blown Turkey Dinner!
Shelly: YAY for getting your fillings done - hey, no worries about your motivation, it will happen! At least you have a gym membership!! LOL We know you enjoy going - maybe as you begin to feel better, the motivation will come along?

Good Morning and YAY for FRIDAY!! My contract pay was deposited too - I almost forgot about it as I did all that work in December lol Slept in Lindsey's room last night. Ahhh....it was nice having my own space - had a bit of a restless night with this head cold so I'm sure DH appreciated it too Oh, got the Omaha Steaks home in the picnic cooler - after throwing out some older things I was able to fit it all in our freezer after all - I was surprised how DEEP our bottom freezer actually is. Still adjusting to it and still not liking it compared to an upright. But glad the steaks all fit and I didn't have to store food at the neighbors. Work was good yesterday. I think it's been a few years since I could say that lol The Prince is still acting like an idiot but at least he's coming around and sees the value I can add to the organization. We had a set meeting yesterday, the first since July! and surprise surprise, he slowly gave me back some of my original duties and responsibilities - the newer Dean of Students just can't do it - and so he made an executive decision and is allowing me to 'supervise' the Title I teachers again! (As long as I cc him on communications) I'm sure so he can tell DL HE is supervising them! lol DL caught me as I was passing through - I try to avoid her area of the building at all costs - and she was giddy (manic) about showing off the newly remodeled area of the Office where a new space was built for me - plus a new small Conference Room designated for me to use to meet with parents and staff!!! Holy Cow! Shocked. I really suspect she is retiring soon and backing off from taking over my job.

OK Gotta run... have to leave early today - lab work before work today! My annual appointment is next Thursday - so labs must be done today! I can never remember if it is supposed to be fasting or not! LOL I allow my coffee and my water - but won't eat until after... office is ordering Chinese for us today - so I need to drink lots and LOTS of water today!! LOL I will track as best I can... and move on towards a healthier weekend!! I think we can hit Subway for supper before or after Wal-Mart... I can get salad!
Will check in tomorrow... ♥hugs♥

Oh Christine - Such good news!! Glad work is going well, but best of all, DL may actually be retiring?? YOU DID IT! You are pressing through and going to be able to enjoy work again someday!! WOO HOO!! MAYBE if DL does retire, the Prince may actually be a better person as well! Not having to report to or deal with DL! Oh I hope this is the last semester you have to deal with it all!
YAY to the new office space!!! What a surprise, huh??? But wait, is it near HER office?? OH man... gotta go, but so happy that things start looking up for you ♥ {{{hugs}}}

The chicken/mushroom/rice recipe is a keeper! It's on the WW Site but I'll try to find a way to post it for others here - did someone mention you gals have a Pinterest page for some of our fav recipes? How do I access that? I so don't understand Pinterest but open to trying! lol Carole - wow, how about that? Matt asked you to come to his next treatment with Zoe? That is super sweet - see, his Support Team is recognized!! So so sorry about your back - oh no - remember your stretches and get on them right away. You don't want your back hurting for the Boston trip! I find myself using earbuds too at work and YES they really help... Ohhh, I'm outta time - gotta get a move on...

Morning Carole, Christine and all to come....sure glad it is finally Friday....I need some "down time" this weekend....
My neck is sore and achy....guess that's why I didn't sleep very well....I often have my hand tucked under my neck and I kept bumping it....need to take the bandaid off it this morning, wash the area and put a new Vaseline dressing on it....need to do that for week.
Will catch up after work....coming right home! Jason is heading to the HS basketball game tonight with Sarah's gang....the elementary school players (Kellen) will be recognized. Jason has wanted to go at least once this season and this is one of the last home games. I'm not a huge fan of basketball so I don't need to go watch the HS kids play. If the boys end up playing in HS, that's different but I don't even know any of the players so this girl is staying home!
Time to get this day started....

Good morning~ Wow, what a great feeling to get to bed at a decent time and feel semi-rested when I woke up. Can't believe how terrible I felt yesterday with so little sleep. I did get my hill-repeats in (uggh) but it was a tough day. I am ready for my 3:00-5:00 pm presentation today though--Superintendents and CBOs from across the county are attending. It is tough to offer it on a Friday from 3:00-5:00, but the calendar was so full. We have promised them "amazing snacks" as well and it sounds like people are getting a kick out of that--hope that we have a good turnout. I need another good night's sleep tonight as the run tomorrow is going to be a a tough, hilly run. On Sunday I fly to San Diego for my 3-day conference on State/Federal programs. My DB will pick me up from the airport and we can have some face-to-face time to talk about how he is doing as his marriage is slipping away. He has started with a counselor (Skype appts) and a men's group so that is a good thing. He's the kind of guy who needs to talk about it.
Carole: So glad that you all will be able to go next week....and I am SURE that the staff at the hospital will LOVE meeting Zoe! It's nice that Matt feels comfortable enough to take her. Yes, we are all hoping for a positive visit for him. Yum...a turkey dinner sounds great! LOL, I would be eating most of it alone if I made one now in our house Isn't it great having the standing desk? I would imagine that it will really help with your back--so odd that just a piece of paper being moved set it off. I will stand for hours and don't even think about it. When I have phone calls (on my office phone) I tell people that I need to put it on speaker due to the standlng desk and that works great--I clear off my keyboard and use it like a desk for notetaking. Nice that Ken and Tracy will go with you to the store--it's good to have company sometimes. So, I shared the CL Shepherd's Pie recipe on our WW Freestyle Pinterest Board. I have invited Christine and Sue to join (I think---it looks like they were invited). I also have a problem posting things here on the Board. For my Shepherd's Pie, I cut up the veggies myself but will sometimes buy the Ore Ida cooked potatoes (they look peeled and boiled) and then make my mashed potatoes from that ---much quicker than peeling and boiling them myself. The guys love this recipe in my house. Hope that you have a good day and your back feels better due to standing.

Christine: Seriously? Did I read that right? You got a new office and conference room or is it DL's? If it's for you, that is AMAZING! Yes, fingers crossed that it is "pre-retirement giddiness"! So glad that you could fit the steaks in your own freezer...we all know that is will be MUCH more convenient. Were you able to leave before daycare wrapped up for the day? So, I think that I invited you to our WW Freestyle Board on Pinterest. So far it was Carole, Shelly, and I....I "invited" you and Sue. If you go to Pinterest and click on your profile, it should come up as a Board (but you might have to accept the invitation?) Anyway, let me know and will try it again if it doesn't work--I can't post things here either! So glad that you got a good night's sleep--amazing, isn't it? Any big plans for the weekend? Hope that you and Colby girl might get some fresh air together.
Sue: Oh, I don't blame you for going to the game if you really don't know anyone, but I LOVE basketball! Played it in HS and love watching...when I was a high school teacher and we had to sign up for night duty, I always picked basketball Yes, "Dear Evan Hansen" is a more "modern" production--they have these screens scattered on the stage and show images of texts, etc. to show the communication--it is teenagers responding to things that they read as the story unfolds. There were a lot of teenagers at the show...I would have wanted to be there with my son or daughter--could have been an interesting conversation afterwards. Sounds like a nice weekend for you to feel at home and set for the week...enjoy! Oh, by the way, did Jason buy a mouthguard? What kind did he get? The one the dentist gave me is so uncomfortable....
Shelly: Glad that the dental work is started..and that the motivation isn't there. It's a crazy thing...if we go to the gym, we get motivated to come back. But getting the motivation to go to begin with can be tough. Hope that you can find it as we know that you feel good when you do it.

Lisa: How are you doing today? Any fun plans for the weekend? Love hearing what you are up to
Jenny: Thinking about you and hoping that Kerry's surgery has gone well. Thanks for the posting on FB to keep us in the loop. How is Audrey doing with all of it too? We know that this falls on you to be the "strong" one and we are here for you. Years ago, when my dad had bypass surgery, I couldn't believe how his coloring improved--he looked so much better. I had no idea how "gray" he was looking until I saw him post surgery. So great that Kerry is retiring and that his whole lifestyle can be rearranged to be a healthier situation for him! You are there with some good tips in that arena! Anyway, thinking about you...
Okay, time to sign off, get ready, and head to work. Have a good day ladies!

Evening all....was hungry for pizza so I stopped and grabbed one on the way home...seems everyone at work ordered out today and there was the smell of pizza EVERYWHERE and it made me hungry for it! Will only have 2 slices and enjoy every bite! Now back to Thursday to keep on catching up....
Carole...had to laugh that you were up at 4 to go to the BR and figured you would be awake until the alarm...guess you need to turn your alarm off more often to get some sleep! Honestly these days I think our idea of "sleeping well" is really not as good as it could be! I know some nights I feel like I slept well and FitBit shows I was more restless than I thought...guess that explains why, like you, we feel tired still after a "good night" in our opinion! Glad your "Work it Wednesday" went well...yes, sometimes when we tweak recipes they are not the same but doable.....
Oh my Carole....you could get spoiled working in Amanda's office with the sun shining in the windows....hope you got lots of done with the peace and quiet!
Christine....chicken and brown rice sounds yummy but not a fan of mushrooms....how was the recipe w/o them?? Can you share the link! Glad the article spoke to you and "dinner was served"!! Sorry the head cold is getting your down. Glad the NyQuil helped you sleep and get some good rest....that's important when you are sick! Well, although the orthopedic appointment wasn't great news it was moving in a positive direction. Had to laugh at the doctor's DW getting mad at him for suggesting arches all the time....but sometimes you "gotta do what you gotta do"!
WOW Christine...that's a fun surprise of Omaha steaks...that stuff is not cheap!! Bummer about the freezer but glad the neighbor can help you out!!
Carole/Christine....Jason and I have been very diligent with our Thieves rollers and both of us so far are avoiding all the snot, sniffles and gunk that is EVERYWHERE at work!! Fingers crossed it holds for the rest of the winter....I know last year I only had a couple days I felt a bit "under the weather" but then used my Wellness roller and in 2 days I was back to normal....I can deal with a cold that lasts 2 days for sure!
Yes Carole...it seems that often many of the "nights out" get all lumped in a bunch....I go weeks with nothing to do after work and then all of a sudden I have 4 in 2 weeks....this week we actually only had DWTS on Wednesday but when I painted on Saturday, Lacey said if I wanted to do the Sunflower painting on Tuesday instead of taking up another Saturday I thought that would be better...our Saturdays are often full with basketball and other things so I made the choice for 2 nights out this week....one good thing about painting at Lacey's studio is it's only 10 minutes from my house so I'm home by 8:15-ish! Not too late. I will say I'm really glad the guy directing traffic at DWTS pointed us to the right turn only exit....that saved us LOTS of time waiting to get out of the venue!

WOW Carole....you've got a bunch of busy weekends coming up! Great idea to get the bulks of the turkey dinner done on Saturday so you are not stuck in the kitchen Sunday and can enjoy the family day! Where is the bank party this year?? Is it always the same place?? LOL, Eden's party could be interesting...it's nice that she wants to invite her "other family"....will be curious to see how your sisters react to that one! You will have everything ready and people will just have to adapt to the extra people and make do!
I was shocked Carole to read about your DN's daughter trying to stab her mom with the scissors....I know the kids are a handful but never realized it was that bad. Hopefully the in-patient therapy helped her with her emotions and behavior.
Oh Carole....just because I do things after work doesn't necessarily mean I have energy....I just go do it and especially with painting, it's relaxing and fun day! Usually by the time I'm home, I'm done! LOL...can't believe you could still hear Kaitlin even in the office....she really is a piece of work. Yes, BOO HOO....for once she had to do a little "multi-tasking" to help out....it's about time!! YAY for only 8 more to go... Apparently Crystal had something really "jump on her" after she left work....but it sounds like it's no great loss that she's not there!
Smiling now Carole...see, Matt does know you are there to help him and I think it's great he asked you to go along and bring Zoe....with this possibly being his last chemo it will be nice for her to see that daddy is OK when he is away from her. Fingers crossed for good news from the surgeon and so great that all the appointments could be move to the same day!! Sounds like they are willing to work with patients to make it most convenient for them.
LOL Gabrielle....seems to be a lot of us "dragging" about now...WOW, midnight is even later than me....at least I was home by 10:30 or so but then I couldn't wind down until around midnight! Thanks for the Shepherds Pie recipe on Pinterest...I do love it and it's definitely not an OP meal made my way!
Shelly....glad you got a couple fillings done, fingers crossed for a cancellation before March to get more done. Hope you made it to the gym today...I get the "no motivation" feeling....sometimes it just happens....hope you can shake it off and get back on track.

Carole....guess after spending 2 days in Amanda's office it is confirmed...the stand up desk does make a difference for you! Isn't it crazy how you can do something so simple and BOOM...out goes the back! Hopefully a day of standing and different positions will help it!
Yes...the basal cell was taken care of, no problem but it looks UGLY today and hurts like crazy!! It's just a constant ache and throbbing....the worst part is the damn bandaid that is supposed to cover it...the adhesive causes a reaction on my skin and it's so itchy so I'm done with those...will just slather and extra thick layer of Vaseline over it and I'm good to go....
WOW Carole....can't believe the bank only has the 2 options for insurance....that is crazy! Heck, even Jason's work insurance has a single, single plus spouse, family option...now his insurance is CRAZY expensive and sucks but at least they have options. In that case, it might be cheaper for Ken to get Medicare.... It's sounding more and more that the new management structure of the store will be a good thing...with getting their regular paychecks weekly and then the profit bonus at the end of the year it sounds like a win. Especially with the employees having more input into the running of the place....
Was wondering Carole...where does your great niece's anger issues come from....is your niece a volatile personality?? I'm sure it's hard to know what would be best for her....maybe a sleepover on the living room floor at your house could be fun and a more structured atmosphere?? So many things to consider...maybe you could talk to your niece and see what she thinks??
Christine...YAY for the contract pay!! How can you forget about that?? I'm sure it is nice to have your "own space" in Linds's room, and yes, I'm sure Gary appreciated you taking your cold and stuffy head to another room! WOO HOO for getting all the steaks in your freezer...I too was amazed how much fit in our freezer in the new fridge....I fit so much more in this new French door/freezer on the bottom freezer than I ever did in the traditional freezer on top. I LOVE my freezer on the bottom fridge....since I'm not in the freezer as often as I am the fridge, I love having the stuff I use at eye level and the crisper drawers at my waist level so no bending stooping to get stuff out.....aside from my ice pack each day, I can go days w/o getting int he freezer...and the ice pack is right on the top.
Christine...did I just read that "work was good"!! WOW, been a long time since I heard that coming from you!! It's funny....for so long we have encouraged you to "take the high road" and not let them rattle you...I know it has been REALLY hard some days for you but seems like all is falling back into place. Fingers crossed DL retires soon and I think the Prince might be more normal when he too is out from under the "thumb" of the DL!! Now...when do you move into your new office space??
Christine...are you on Pinterest?? I think one of us can invite you to join the board of recipes.
OK...back is telling me I need to leave the computer...will finish catching up in the morning! Jason just left for the basketball game so time to relax and veg!
