Portion size: how do you determine how big your portions of food are?

My portion sizes come from when I was losing weight. While losing I ate the amount of food that fit into my points. Now that I'm maintaining I eat what I can and not gain weight. I often have to adjust my food depending on the scale.

Depends on the food...sometimes I weigh and measure and sometimes not. If I weight out 2 oz of pasta it is MUCH better than if I just pour some into boiling water!

I weigh and measure everything except whitemeat poultry, fish and seafood, fruit and veggies. Otherwise, I stick to 4oz. servings of any other type of meat . Desserts I allow myself anywhere from a taste to 1/2 serving depending on my food budget.
These days I determine how much I will have based on my daily food budget. I'm still not ready to use my weeklies or my fit points. I afraid I'll start gaining. I've finally stopped (well, almost stopped) using the occasion or my mood or my appetite to determine how much I'll have, even if my budget allows for more than is on my plate.

Mostly I rely on past weighing and measuring, but with cheese I really need to start measuring for everything because, yanno, it's CHEESE!
