Do you get comments on your weight, weight loss/gain, if so, how do you handle them?

I don't get comments on my weight except my husband thinks I'm too skinny. I've been maintaining for over 12 years so most people in my life don't know about me previously being obese. Occasionally at my WW meeting someone will ask something like "why are you here?" I then explain about my weight loss and maintenance. I also include that this is my third time losing my weight, the first two time I gained my weight back because I stopped going to meetings.

In Lebanon most people don't seem to have a filter so I have been asked:
"Are you well? You have lost a LOT of weight!" (in 1999)
and I said,
"No, dieting - it is intentional" that happened again a few years ago when a man asked his wife if I was sick since I had dropped 20 pounds
I have been told by more than one person:
"You have gained a LOT of weight!"
and I have either said: "Yes, I have - because I have been happy and eating what I want to." and the woman said..."maybe I am happy, too." or I sometimes don't say anything at all and want to punch them in the nose.

I haven't been getting any comments lately, but after my Heart valve replacement quite a few people were telling me that I lost weight. In fact, I had not. When I get the "Why are you here?" comments from WW members I say, "Because I want to keep looking like this!".

bbbearsmom , I get the same from my DH (about being too skinny, I'm not) who remembers how thin I got when I was in the worst of my GI issues. Other than that, I get compliments, especially from younger people. I imagine I'm the same age as their parents or even grandparents, and they are mentally comparing.

Not really these days. But when I was in the Peace Corps in Southern Africa region, let's just say most women there had extremely ample behinds, the kind that have a shelf on the top and you can literally sit a baby on them. I remember one of the sisters of the family I lived with - they were all large women, not fat but larger than me, she slapped me on the butt, laughed, and then said, "Ah you are getting too fat!" It was supposed to be a compliment because it meant you could afford to eat what you wanted to, but it still meant you were physically larger than before. I looked at her, so upset, and then had to shrug because she was like twice my size. The comparison was so absurd that I had to chuckle, but it still didn't feel good hearing that.
