Good Morning ~ lots of snow here - about 6 inches yesterday on top of the icy freezing rain we had Thursday. Today is plenty more but it's all good - we've had a very light snowfall all Winter so I suppose we are due...lol DD21 Lindsey comes home today - just for a quick overnight - she has a hair appt. this afternoon and really loves our stylist and how she colors her hair just right. Hoping she can arrive home late morning today to join us for a Memorial Luncheon with my DM. Last week we would have gone but I was too sick so we rescheduled for today. It's for my brother Michael - he passed away in 2009. Each year we try to meet for lunch at his favorite local Italian tavern/family restaurant in his Memory. It's always a hard time of the year for my DM as we all know Michael was her favorite - they could be SO dramatic together!! lol ♥ Carly, Ben, and my younger DB will be joining us today I planned ahead - making sure to eat Zero point foods for breakfast (eggs, orange) and will plan Zero point foods for dinner (baked chicken, potato, broccoli). Oh, gotta share: Took my FIRST walk outside with ColbyGirl yesterday in the fresh snow after work!! Hooray!! Only 20 minutes but with the icy sidewalks and slush and snow it was slow moving anyways. It just felt good to be outside moving!! Of course the Pup loved every minute of it and couldn't greet enough people LOL

So today is a reminder to STAY STRONG - I always hear Bob Harper coaxing along on Biggest Loser - "Strronng Arms" lol
Gabrielle - hoping today is a bit warmer out there for you - it's one thing to take a short walk in the 28 degree weather but quite another to have to run and be out there for hours! It does sound like you have your hands full with your DH's outlook on weight and running. I'm not so sure I could hold my tongue! You are really being so kind and patient there. Has he had a recent check up with his physician to be sure this idea of being thinner is healthy for his heart? Just curious...Glad to hear DS20 did adjust to Oregon but yes, maybe now that he has experienced being up there independently he might do fine moving back to CA area - it sounds like he really does appreciate you guys more! I'm eager to dive in deep with our recent collected Data to see how each student is doing progressing towards State standards. One teacher (I admire her the most as she really has a handle on Montessori AND State Standards, not just pure Montessori) was so excited to share her data results - a large LEAP upwards for her kiddos!! She ran right to the Prince to be sure he knew Pure Montessori is NOT the way to go if students are going to meet the State benchmarks! It's all about scope and sequence...it has to be blend. Sorry, I'm way off topic on WW...lol

Carole - hopefully you got to sleep in a bit today with no early alarm to go pick up Eden - as she's already there! How's Zoe doing? Will she be over today too? Is Tracy home during this day that maybe she can keep an ear out for the little ones while you jump on your E for a few minutes? I plan to replace the batteries in our bike and jump on it today!! So relieved I finally have my energy back, my painful foot has improved and shhh fingers crossed my back is good to go. How was work yesterday? Did you get your water? I really focused on keeping my water bottle refilled as I sat monitoring test Makeups...it was a good day. Hopefully you'll have time to review the Purple Plan a bit more today. I saw yesterday at the very bottom of the WW page a link to the print out lists for Zero Point foods for whatever color plan you are on. Oh, yesterday I received my 2nd charm from WW - a Purple one to celebrate my 10# loss Carole - If I can do this with all my physical pains YOU can do it too!! C'mon and jump in!! Baby Steps, no judgement, and yes, you will feel less frumpy (trust me, I get ya, I felt the same) just by slowly slowly losing a bit here and there...remember it has taken me since November 16 to see positive movement so I'm going to keep trying... Sue - how was the Sushi? You are very brave - my Girls like it but seriously? Keep me out - I do not even like the idea of raw fish - no thank you. I don't care for Salmon either so I'm not sure I would have joined you at the Blue Koi lol but hopefully the company was well worth it all! What time will they be picking up their new puppy?? Cooper is such an awesome name! How's Sarah feeling? Hopefully she is taking it easy and has the Boys be helpers this weekend for her - Speaking of being helpers, I have asked DH to bring downstairs his clothes hamper so I can do laundry. Ever since my TKR this has been our 'deal'. Well, like a teenager, he waits and waits until his hamper is stuffed full then complains his back hurts!!! This morning he did it again - I was SO MAD at him!! I yelled at him that he does not have to carry it down so heavy but empty half of it, make 2 trips, in order to lighten the load. Nope. He won't. I told him he does NOT have short term disability and he cannot be out of work from tweaking his back trying to carry such a heavy load! I just can't stand it. lol

Jenny - so glad you are getting Kerry on board with a healthier lifestyle. Scary it had to be due to his health issues BUT yep, take full advantage of this time and get the family moving towards what you always knew was working - Good Job!! Let us know what good recipes you are finding that Kerry likes too - interesting his take on the plant based diet. I agree with you though, I'm not sure I could do that daily but a couple times a week I guess we already do it! Glad your travel time to other plants is really not that big of a deal. I had to drive between our school campuses frequently for different meetings before we moved to the newer campus. DL put a stop to reimbursing mileage for administrators - she was just that clueless how many meetings I actually hold with parents - but, it's okay. It got me out of the building and out in fresh air! Are you still only working 4 days a week since you a WWOW made that agreement? I envy you there!! Shelly - good for you with the Boss taking your side and really laying into that Vendor. How DARE he not believe you!! Geesh - that would be hard to accept that culture of 'the little lady doesn't have a brain' - you are strong and DO know the business end of the store! Is this weekend Abel's birthday or was that last weekend? Oh, yes, when is your trip? It's February already and should be coming soon!! Lisa - hang in there. Don't let the snowy weather make you feel closed in - my good friend Cheryl admits she struggles with that when she doesn't leave the house for a few days. She does still work at her Church as the organist/pianist so each week she prepares the music and meets with the priest. But I know it can feel hard. Are you and Greg able to get out and walk when not too cold? I love the idea you are using this time to organize and declutter - good for you!! Okay - I want to start getting Taxes organized and see about starting that project before my contract work takes over this month. Have a STRONG day everyone!

Good morning!
Up and at 'em as we prepare for our long run...MUCH shorter today though as the big run is next weekend and we are supposed to be taking it easy on our legs...this is hard because, mentally, you think you will lose some fitness if you don't push yourself. It is what we need to do though. So DH and I will drive together and I have a mani/pedi this afternoon and a crab feed tonight (a fundraiser). DH can't eat crab but says he'll be fine....he will probably need to eat more when we get home. So, so glad it is the weekend (like many of you I think).
Christine: It is wonderful to hear how much better you are feeling and congratulations again on your 10# reward! Yay for the back and foot feeling better! Yep, I am with you on the blend of standards-based and Montessori. Really, Montessori (to me) we an approach to teaching and it all can still be measured with a standards-based lens....so glad that you have a champion there sharing the success! Good job! I think that it is wonderful that you all still make the time to honor your DB Michael. For all of you it would seem that this is a special time. And to have Linds home for a bit....well, yay! Yes, I am hearing relief in DS20's voice at having openly talked about what he thinks he should do. I remember (a long time ago) those days when I decided to change my major in college and being worried about it....not sure why we do that to ourselves, but we do. It sounds like you are going to have a great day---love hearing your plan to have zero point foods earlier to budget for your Italian meal--good idea! Yes, DH is actually very healthy and is probably naturally very lean. I think that he is going to need to find out for himself about how he feels on the longer runs. His first hard one is coming up in March and it will be interesting to see how it goes--I want the best for him but uggh. Thanks for starting us off and have a good day!
Sue: How fun to have the time today--I remember now that they are picking up the cute dog! So glad that Sarah continues to improve and that it all worked out with the childcare folks too. I LOVE sushi! It's one of my favorites--I am sure that you had a good time. Yep, DH is one lean machine and VERY focused on how his body feels right now. I am being patient for now. Enjoy your day!
Jenny: I bought a Forks Over Knives cookbook too---good idea to help you learn about options for cooking plant-based. I think that you are wise to be moderate about it and be thinking about what works now that will still be working a year from now. I am just so darned happy for you---it is wonderful to have your spouse on board and be focused on feeling good!! Love reading it! Have a good day my friend.
Carole: Hope that you got a good night's sleep and had a nice evening with Miss Eden!
Okay, gotta get ready and go. Will try to check in later...have a wonderful day, ladies!

Good morning Christine - Thanks for starting us off this COLD Saturday morning! Only 20 degrees here... but looks like the sun will shine! That might help... I need to get things done here today for the party tomorrow... not feeling it though ~ but I'll get there! Started this a while ago - then Eden wanted breakfast... tried Mickey Mouse pancakes... did OK, but need a bigger pancake flipper! LOL The ears fell off in flipping! Oh well she ate it!
Slept in a bit today - and slept OK... well thought I did! LOL Just checked Fitbit and apparently I did NOT sleep as well as I thought! Might follow Gabrielle's lead and not wear it at night for a while... MIND OVER MATTER Sometimes!!
Tracy is grabbing my groceries this morning with Zoë - they should be here any time!
GOing to try to catch up - but need to flip laundry and grab more coffee - and be able to help Tracy unload her car when she gets here! ♥

Afternoon all....had a wonderful dinner last night...enjoyed some sushi rolls and sashimi...all was yummy to me but Jason was not a fan of most of it....Karen had the duck special and aside from the mushrooms in it I would have loved it...she share a taste and it was AWESOME. Jason and I enjoyed our usual "Sizzling Salmon" and Bobby had Pad Thai....they loved the restaurant...so glad, with Hanover being a small town was hoping the sushi would compare to the "city stuff" they are used to and they said it was GREAT!! After we got home we sat for hours in the living room enjoying a glass of wine and just chatting....finally went to bed about 11:30pm and were all up by 7:30-8:00.... made scratch buttermilk pancakes and grilled sausage before heading to get Cooper....OMG, he is the sweetest pup! Will post a picture later from my phone. Can't wait to see his coloring over the next several months....you can see his muzzle is starting to change from black to the orange/copper color...his paws are HUGE so I think he's going to be one big dog! He super social and loves to be with people... I held him for a bit and he just snuggled right in!! Makes me want a puppy but don't want the work.
Few goals for the day....taxes, BJ's coupon clipping and list making, gathering stuff for getting my "real ID license"....Jason goes in this month and I don't go until July but figured I'd gather my stuff now so I'm ready.
Carole...you got your "real ID license" already....what did you bring along?? I don't want to have to go and then be turned away for not having the right stuff. I have my SS card, marriage license, old license and will add some bills with my name on them....I'm hoping to have my new passport too but Jason can't find our expired ones so he's on a search for them.
Christine...thanks for starting us off today...thankfully the snow stayed on your side of the state...I did get up to pee about 2:30am and we had a "dusting" of snow but by the time I got up at 7:15-ish the temps had come up and it was gone....glad K&B will have a decent weather day to head home! Have to laugh that Linds likes to come home to her regular salon...Hannah had to go a few times in WA and never liked the way her hair was done....she always would go to Errin when she was home and in NJ, she would schedule her appointments when she knew she as coming to Hanover. Now that she will be staying in NE she will need to find a long term salon but it's funny how we have our favorites and do all we can to make it there. Hope she got home in time to join your for the luncheon for Micheal. I remember you always do that. I'm sure it's tough for DM, can't imagine burying a child.
YAY for the nice walk with Colby Girl...be careful in the icy spots....20 minutes is a great start!! I will say that it was only 37° when we arrived to pick up Cooper but with the nice warm sunshine it wasn't so bad...the sun shining in the car windows was wonderful!!
Christine...no worries about going off topic here...we all drift from the topic now and then. I love that the one teacher is looking outside the Montessori school to realized that the kids need more of a blend to be successful on a state level....so many people can't look outside of their immediate school/situation/etc....the great teachers are the ones that realize that sometimes you have to venture outside the box while still not taking away from the focus/standards of your school/work place but it's in the best interest of all. Love that!
Actually Christine, many of the sushi rolls are cooked...sashimi is raw and we had salmon, white tuna and toro, which is the fattier, belly of the tuna.....the was like butter, just melted in your mouth. I was surprised it was not "fishy" at all. We had a Dragon Roll which was cooked eel and a Rainbow Roll which was salmon. I think I will definitely venture out and try more....a woman at work said the Lobster Cha Cha roll at Blue Koi was her favorite.... You could join me at Blue Koi...when we first went Jason always got the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken...they honestly have many non-seafood options....remember, Karen had duck and Bobby had chicken Pad Thai....

Christine...I plan to call Sarah a little later....haven't talked to her in a couple days. I think this is a low key weekend for them....I'm hoping she is not overdoing but unfortunately when you kids are "adults" you really have no control anymore and have to just hope they are doing what is best.... LOL, have to laugh at Gary waiting until the hamper is over-flowing!! I am glad we have always had a laundry shoot in the floor...I open the closet in the BR and open the hatch...it drops right down on the floor in front of the washer. Jason's folks had one, the house we 1st lived in had one so when me moved here we put one it....no one needs to lug the hampers down stairs! But....that said, you are right....Gary could bring it down every couple days or make 2 trips but they are stubborn!! Fingers crossed he doesn't tweak his back!
Gabrielle...I'm always amazed at the lengths of training runs for prepping for races. I guess it makes sense to not do a long run too close to the run itself but in my mind I keep thinking...run longer and longer so you keep up the endurance! Glad Ed will come to the crab feed and "make do" even if he has to eat more at home. I'm thinking he understands how difficult his choice can be to incorporate into normal life.....
Carole...since I grew up in MA, I know that 20° but a sunny day this time of year is a great day! It truly was wonderful driving up to get Cooper with the warm sun shining in the car windows! Jason had to shed his coat, that's how "toasty" it got! Sorry Carole...I had to giggle at Mickey's ears falling off! I do have a pretty big "flipper" for pancakes so I think I could probably save the ears if I didn't make Mickey's head too big!
Honestly Carole...I love my FitBit for sleep....while I may not sleep as well as I should, the way my body and mind feels in the morning is usually very "spot on" with FitBit....I love that my FitBit breaks down deep, light, REM and awake.....when I look at the graph of sleep I can see when I got up to pee, when I was asleep in the recliner, when I tossed and turned....my old one was not that detailed and I always felt like I wasn't getting "normal sleep" but with my new one and the more detailed sleep report I realize I sleep "normal" for a woman my age! I have my goal set at 7 hours and most days I get that but some are more "sound sleep" than others and I can really feel the difference in the "quality" of sleep I get.
OK...need to get my BJ's list going....want to head out early in the morning so want it done for the day so I don't need to finish in the morning!
Waves Jenny, Lisa, Shelly and anyone else I might have missed!
