Welcome to the CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend still least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
What a beautiful morning. We got about. 4” of snow overnight. Th sun is shining, it looks spectacular out. It’s 3*, the first time we’ve been in single digits this winter.
Happy Valentines Day!
Planning on starting to sort my clothes. I’ve been looking at my upstairs closet and dresser drawers and noticed that I still have a lot I want to sort through. It’s too cold to work in the basement so I’ll continue to CB, just a different area.
Will also head to the Y sometime today. I think upping my steps is helping with my weight loss so I’m going to keep that up. I’ve hit my 8K goal every day this week, hit 10K a couple of days. That combined with some strength training is going in the direction I want to go.
Enjoy your day

Good morning. Just stopping by to say Happy Valentine’s Day to you all. Leaving in a bit to go help my friend with her CB’ing!! Working on her clothes today I think. She’s one who likes the basic wardrobe idea, where everything goes with everything else. So she has fewer clothes. She’s the one who only shops at Savers, Goodwill, and other thrift stores to find what she wants. She NEVER buys clothes at full price, and even considers sales at Kohl’s and other places to be too expensive!!! But she has nice clothes because she spends the time searching for those bargains others have thrown. We’ll eventually work on her kitchen and other areas too.
Will check in tonight! Have a great day all.
And Joy, you are doing fantastic!!!!

Joyce, it is good that you can work upstairs since the basement is so cold. Single digits doesn’t sound good, hopefully it will warm up over the weekend for you. Good job on hitting the 8K goal every day. It takes a combination of exercise/movement and dieting to drop the weight for me.
Ruth, it is good that you can help your friend with her downsizing. Does your friend and her husband have children? Just wondering or will they always be in a campground somewhere.
Busy day. Bill went out early to get some things for the bathroom project. He dropped a bag when he was coming in the door. Of course it was the bag with a quart of paint in it and he didn’t notice the lid popped off. What a mess, it took us about 30 minutes to clean everything up. He did install the new light fixture in the guest bath, it looks great, so slowly but surely he is getting some things done. We are getting together with our “card” friends tonight. Usually we start with dinner out but because of it being Valentine’s Day we didn’t want to do that. So when we all get to the host house we are ordering pizzas. They are providing a big salad and someone is bringing dessert, sounds like a good evening and we won’t deal with the crowds out for V Day. Hope you are both having a good day.

Good afternoon. Spent the morning helping my friend. Now home, had lunch, and going downstairs to work shortly.
Dottie, the friend just retired (early) from her job. She’s only 61 I think. Her husband will retire the end of May. Not sure how old he is exactly. They are selling their house to her nephew & his girlfriend/fiancé/whatever as they have been living with them for about 4-5 years since the last home they rented the basement of was gutted by fire. Anyway, they are to buy this house. My friend has 1 son and 3 grandsons and they live maybe 5-10 miles from her current home. This is her 2nd marriage (about 20 years ago) and the son is by her first husband. He’s actually not very happy about her going because he feels she is abandoning her grandsons. Her husband has been very involved with her son and the grandsons so he is like another dad/grandpa. They plan to travel to Alaska this summer to explore and camp. Then in late summer they want to become campground hosts on the west coast. Somewhere in the Pacific Northwest most likely. They may travel around the country some too. They will be living on the money from the sale of the house until they hit actual retirement ages and SS & their investments. And living as campground hosts, they won’t have to pay park fees. Apparently there is a whole group of retirees who live this way and travel around the country being campground hosts. Duties range from signing campers in, providing firewood, doing site checks, site cleanup; to bathroom clean-up! That last one would put me out of the running. I don’t even like to USE campground bathrooms, let alone clean them!! 🤮🤮
Dottie, what a mess with that paint spill. Hope it didn’t get on flooring or anything important. Good you got it cleaned up. Tonight sounds like a fun night. If we go out to eat it will be early and maybe Mexican or something different that probably won’t be as crowded.
Joy, we still have a LOT of snow on the ground. Sun is shining today but it’s COLD!!! Was -11 (-26 windchill) when we got up this morning. Today is supposed to be our last cold day. But a chance of snow on Monday!!! Ick!! You are doing great on the steps, losing weight, and your CB’ing!!!
Ok, I need to get going downstairs. I keep putting it off because it’s so daunting with how much needs to be done. But small steps, baby steps, and I will eventually get it done. Going to put more bins/boxes on the shelves and get them all labeled by size; then start sorting into them!! One thing at a time!
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day all.
