This is a thread devoted to those in their 50s & 60s and beyond who don't have children or grandchildren but live rich, full lives. Please feel free to join our stroll thru life and come back often for support and to share. ************************* We got about an inch of snow and have snow showers and 25° at the moment.
Linda, I am glad all went well yesterday and hope you slept well. Tell Bob I wish him a speedy recovery.
Karen, good luck at Osteo. How are the GI issues today?
Kathy, enjoy “winter.”
Becky, I hope you have a good day today.
Liz, was this week when you were back at the dentist?
Have a good day.

Chele, thanks for the early start. Winter has arrived and it's a chilly 50 degrees out there. I had to put my donations outside by 8am this morning and it felt pretty cold after being in the 80s yesterday. I'm sure your snow is pretty, but 25 is really cold. Linda, glad everything went well yesterday.
Karen, hope you're feeling back to normal.
Liz, how is the week going?
Becky, I may have to make some chili myself. It sounds good for this weather. Hope you have a good day.

Thanks for the start, Chele. We didn't have as much snow as you did, but they had more in the mountains and they were gorgeous coming home, with the sun glistening off of them. What did you do today besides not go out in the cold and snow? Dale said there was so much traffic at the feeder that they just about needed an air traffic controller. He said some of them were actually running into each other. The cardinal brought his lady for brunch for the first time, so I guess we must have a 5 star rating on Feathered Yelp. Osteo went pretty well and I got to work with the owner, so we made some tweaks that I hope will help next week and beyond. Still taking it easy on the GI system, but might try the chili tomorrow if I feel brave. Kathy, did your pick up get made for AmVets? How's your winter? Definitely as close to chili weather as it probably gets for you. When is your Publix trip? In our weekly ad, we had a sale on Italian 5-grain bread in their bakery. I'm rarely in the mood for bakery bread so I'm blaming it on my healing GI system. I bought a loaf and is it ever good! It's a little higher in fat than I would like, but the protein and fiber offset that some. Dale also liked it, so I won't be the only one eating it. You could probably split a loaf with DM and it would still be plenty. I'm probably about 80% recovered. I only did 30 minutes on the AMT but did a full weight workout, even thought I only did 1 set of some things. Did you bring the patient home, Linda? I'm sure you and Micki were both exhausted last night and probably didn't want to get up this morning. You may have done well to get some extra sleep because you may not sleep that well tonight because you'll be listening to ensure Bob doesn't need something. Liz, are you gearing up for Covid19? I saw an interesting article in The Atlantic. Looks like we'll all get it sooner or latery to varying degrees. I know things are nuts for you and I don't know that you're going to get a lot of help from the feds. I think we are all pretty much on our own. I hate that your commute puts you in contact on a daily basis with so many people who might be or become infected, and then you go to a medical facility to work. Stay healthy! Keep it up with the elderberry and add in echinacea and goldenseal when you need an immunity boost. How's the pain level today, Becky? I hope the virus doesn't lead to any changes in your surgery schedule so you can start the recovery process and be out of pain soon. Did you have chilly (chili??) weather like Kathy did? Did you have more wind so you had an indoor Scooter? There were a lot of people at Gold's today and I was amazed at how few people were wiping off the machines before using them. I was fastidious about wiping them down before and after use. I know this scary virus is respiratory and we all breathe the same air, but I did hear coughing and sneezing going on today. I had soup for dinner and had more calories today than any day in the past week and a half, but am still taking it kind of easy. It was a long day and when I got home, I had to cook beef and oats for Arya so she would have breakfast tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to sit down until dinner and my legs are feeling it. Good thing I have nothing on the agenda for the next 4 days that would take me out of the house. Looking forward to a little down time, but need to dust and vacuum and probably have at least one load of laundry to do.

Thanks for the start Chele.I did have a good day thanks. We didn't have snow and although Austin got down to 32 our low was 23.Brr that's cold for here this time of year.Hope you had a good day also.
Kathy I'm sure after being in the 80's yesterday the 50's seemed very chilly.Tomorrow night will finally wind up our chili so I will need to get something else to cook for the weekend. After a cold start we had a beautiful day with little wind.
Linda I'm sure you are exhausted.I hope Bob was able to come home today.
Karen The pain level was better so I walked 1 mile on our country road. The knee didn't really hurt but the quads and the hips did and I was really tired after since I'm not used to walking that far anymore.I may still have some outside walking days but I probably won't be walking that far anymore until after I'm recovered.Ascension Seton sent me a link yesterday for their mobile care app to use before and after surgery.I'm supposed to open it up on 3/4(a week before surgery)and they have some kind of questions to answer and I can call their nurse line if needed. My pre-op appointment with the surgeon is also scheduled for that day and they already sent me a text to confirm my appointment and check in online. We just had a light wind today which was good since it was so cold this morning. We looked out the kitchen window at breakfast and there was frost everywhere.

we got home at two he is uncomfortable on multiple issues. Clothing is not working. I had to buy a hospital gown...only found at medical supply...and not all them have them! Hour of driving and three places. Percocet finally helped. I got lunch at 7 pm. Aching all over.
Advice..get a gown from Amazon and keep it around...you never know when you might need it.
