Linda, glad Bob is home. How is he doing now that he has something comfortable to wear?Iggy would have just gone au naturel. How are you holding up?
Just stopping by quickly. Waves to all. Below freezing today with sun peeking in and out. 50s by Sunday.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Happy National Tooth Fairy Day. I'm not sure how we are expected to celebrate that. Send some of that sun here please. We've had snow and rain since about mid morning. The Noon weatherguesser promised sun this afternoon but I'm not holding my breath. Hope you're doing well and getting things accomplished. I almost had the most amazing photo of our male cardinal but he flew off before I could get my phone ready to take the picture.
Becky, I'm glad the knee was doing a little better, but I hope you aren't paying today for that walk yesterday. What if you go only a quarter of a mile but you do it in the morning and again in the afternoon? Same mileage but broken up. Hard to believe your pre-op is next week and the surgery is the following week. When it was scheduled, it seemed so far off. Have you warmed up today?
I'm glad the patient is home, Linda, even if he (and you) probably aren't resting well. The hospital gown you bought is probably far better than if they had sent one home with you from the hospital. When is his first follow up? My bestie's hubby who had shoulder surgery the same day as Bob's was ahead of expectations yesterday and goes back to the doc this afternoon. I hope Bob will be doing as well as he is.
Kathy, are you still experiencing Florida Winter? Do you see more or less pond activity when it's cooler weather? I perused the Easter candy section at Target yesterday, and the Dove eggs are the same larger ones with the flat side they changed to 3 or 4 years ago, so no temptation. I may end up succumbing to a bag of the Hershey's Special Dark eggs that are the small ones like Dove's used to be. My grandmother's favorite candy was the Special Dark, so I guess I got that honestly.
I don't even want to think how nuts things are for you right now, Liz. I know you have to be gearing up in a big way, even though some facets of the government are saying, "nothing to see here". How are the body parts behaving? When is your next dentist appointment?
Are Becky and I the only ones who live in Super Tuesday states? I'm not seeing as many political ads as I expected. We've been seeing Bloomberg for months, but the only other candidate advertising locally right now is Amy Klobuchar and that's who I planned to vote for anyway, as long as she doesn't drop out of the race in the next few days. I did a session on the rowing machine, baked a butternut squash for Arya, and did a load of laundry. That's all I have planned for the day. I think I may throw caution to the wind and dive into the chili for dinner. Maybe that will be a make or break for my digestive system.

Chele, thanks for the start. We barely got over 60 today which is chilly for us.
Linda, glad Bob is home and hope he's more comfortable today.
Karen, yes, winter is here for the weekend. The AmVets picked up my stuff Thursday morning, so it was good to get that done. There is so much more to clean out though, but at least it's a start. It's funny on the Dove eggs. I don't know if it was the texture of the smaller ones or what, but they did taste better. I inherited my love of dark chocolate from DM.
I'm not seeing as much pond activity as I was a few weeks ago. It seems to come and go and depends on when I look outside. I saw a young hawk today circling the pond. It landed and took off a few times in my backyard. A Little Blue Heron and an ibis were wandering around earlier today. I haven't seen the hooded merganser ducks for a few days, so I'm wondering what they are up to. The FL primary isn't until March 17, so I'm hoping Amy is still in the race. She doesn't seem to have much of a chance despite winning some of the debates. The onslaught of political robocalls and mailers started this week. I've been getting texts for awhile though and just delete them. I'm glad we don't have any major FL races this time or it would be worse.
Waving to Becky and Liz.

Ohio’s primary is March 17, St. Patrick’s Day. God help is.
Cardinals are elusive. It took me forever to get a picture of the male. I have never been able to get the female. At least your cardinals go to your feeder, Karen. Ours don’t. Did you brave the chili for dinner? I hope the digestive system reacted well if you did.
Kathy, I bet the hawk was looking for rodents or chickens like the chicken hawk in the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons. I haven’t had the political robo calls yet. Knock on wood. AT&T has been doing a fairly good job of keeping robocalls off the mobile.
Becky, how do the knees and back feel today after your outdoor walk?
Liz, I hope you are on your way home or already there. Iggy and I are planning to go to Sam’s Club to stock up on non perishables just in case Covid-19 gets out of hand. We always keep rubbing alcohol, iodine and hydrogen peroxide along with bandages and a first aid kit from all the tornado scares. We sound like doomsdayers. I hope the chaos is at a dull roar at St. Crazy.

Chele, so Florida and Ohio both have their primaries on St. Patrick's Day! Must be some kind of cosmic joke. I have AT&T on the mobile and it's mainly been texts so far. The robocalls are coming on my landline which is also AT&T. I don't think the hawk will find any chickens around here, but I'm sure there are plenty of small critters and birds. I have a Foghorn Leghorn egg cooker that makes a cartoon squeal when you turn it off! A picture of Foghorn is on the measuring cup that came with it. We're going to stock up on some things too, but I hope there hasn't already been a run on things. I gassed up the car yesterday and there was more activity than normal at the gas station.

Thanks for the start Chele.
Karen It's been too cold the last 2 mornings to walk outside. It was 23 yesterday morning and 30 this morning.I do house walking in the morning then since it's been so beautiful the past 2 afternoons I had to get outside. It got up to 73 this afternoon without a cloud in the sky.It may hit 80 on Sunday but just for one day.I was busy this morning and my phone announced a call from an unknown caller.I don't normally answer those calls because half the time it's one from some Chinese woman. They left a VM but most of the time the Chinese woman does too.I went to check the VM and it was the surgery scheduler at the surgeon's office wanting to know if I had gone for my hospital pre-op and to call her and leave a message with what date I had it on.I looked in my paperwork and it was on 2/6.They should have gotten the clearance within a week of that.So I called Seton and asked for the clinic I had my pre-op in and left them a VM.She called me back and said the surgeon's office had the paperwork. It was in a different document than the results. She said she would call them and let them know where to look.Evidently she called them because the scheduler never called me back and I had left her a message stating what date.I did not need this so close to surgery. We have been seeing more than enough political ads for Bloomberg,Sanders and now Warren. We voted early so no need to do that Tuesday. We finally finished our chili tonight.Tomorrow night I am making whole wheat chili mac with whole wheat elbow macaroni and kidney beans. It's a recipe WW had on the app.
Linda I'm sorry you didn't get much sleep but I'm glad Bob is improving.
Chele My knees hurt more tonight after today's walk.I will probably take it easier over the weekend and not walk so far.Mon,Tue and maybe Wed morning we may get some light rain so I won't be walking then.

Becky it was like that with getting tests done for us...people do not seem to connect on paperwork. I held my breathe as we checked it at the hospital expecting another glitch but ok.
Have your bed set up before you go...You want a table that holds a bunch of stuff so you do not have to get up. phone, kleenex, light switch remote if lamp is a reach or flashlight, straws for water, tablet or ipod, tv remote,.... I used my laptop tablet flat and raised higher. That kind of thing can also if hogh enough go across the bed for meals.
In case you have to care for someone with a catheter, the small bags that strap to leg fill up fast. Most people recuperating at home use the large one you see hanging below hospital beds. They have to hang below bladder but off the floor.
They recommend putting a garbage bag into a clean wastebasket and hanging it inside. The blue ones with recycling symbols are right height..15-16 inches. You can carry it from room to room to sit elsewhere. That also keeps it away from pets too. the lower rung of a walker works too. Always learning something.
And we will always have a couple hospital gowns on hand..darned hard to find when you locate a medical supply place...maybe Amazon if you are ahead of it..want to wash the starchy new feeling
this is handy when you cannot reach a lamp or it is on the other side of the room....remote
