Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit.
Happy first day of March. We are going from winter to spring in a day. 32° yesterday. 53° today. We had snow showers Friday and sun yesterday. We stocked up on TP, tissues and paper towels along with frozen veggies and fish. I have 3 months worth of Iggy’s medications and a supply of sumatriptan for my migraines along with allergy meds a d decongestants. We also stocked up on bottled water, soap and hand sanitizer. We are not panicking, just preparing. We usually do a little of this in the spring anyway because of tornado season.
Karen, Sadie Hawkins Day was something we read about in the Li’l Abner cartoon. 1957 was not a leap year. Iggy doesn’t do anything early except arriving for appointments. He will vote before the drinking and the games get started on March 17. How are you enjoying The Crown? I can’t wait until the next season. I dropped my Britbox subscription and replaced it with CBS All Access so we could watch Picard and catch up on Star Trek Discovery. Both excellent shows, BTW. My favorite Trek series is still the original followed by Deep Space Nine, but I like them all. Did Dale watch the Olympic marathon qualifying race?
Linda, were you able to sleep with the sciatica flare up? Glad to hear Bob is healing well. You are going to need a spa weekend to recover from caretaking duties. I hope Micki is behaving himself. Doing a puzzle sounds like more fun than going to Safeway and PetSmart. Are you going to art class tomorrow?
Becky, I am sure you will be relieved when the surgery is over and you are on the road to recovery. It is good you have a walk in shower.
Kathy, I have never read Stephen King as I am not a big fan of the horror genre, but I thought of all the apocalypse movies I have seen. The shelves were fully stocked at the stores here. I think Ohioans don’t feel threatened yet.
Liz, what have you been up to this weekend? Is that wascally Wally behaving himself? How is Zoe? How is Gary holding up now that football season is over? Does he follow college basketball? Are you getting rest this weekend?
Have a good Sunday, all.

Becky, sounds like a good plan.
We always have a LOT of toilet paper in the garage since I buy in quantity from Costco. I have a return for there, so maybe I will get extra paper towels and Kleenex with recovering person and allergy season ramping up.
Nobody seems excited here and full shelves. We had a case in Tempe at ASU...returned from China. He is now fine. But a lot of people have the second round of flu. They have a vaccine almost ready to test in spite of president stupid's cuts to CDC.

Linda, everything I read says to have at least 2 weeks stock of food. So, you have Micki taken care of at least. Is that possibly what aggravated your sciatica? I'm sure the laptop table didn't help. I hope you were able to get a good night's sleep. Will this be a puzzle day? The other thing on all the lists have on it is toilet paper, so you're ahead of the curve. Fortunately, that is something that keeps indefinitely, so no problem with stocking up. We don't have grocery delivery where we live, but we can place an order online and pick up outside any of our local grocery stores, and we talked about that option if things get bad. We do have a 22cuft freezer full, so we won't starve. My biggest concern is fresh fruits and veggies, which we eat a lot of. I just put paper towels on the list, but we don't use many of them because we have a supply of shop towels we use and wash instead. I hadn't heard that the ASU case resolved itself, so that's good news. It almost sounds like the vaccine development is ahead of the testing right now. The Congress needs to get it together and submit a budget that increases the CDC budget, especially if Covid-19 wraps back around this fall.
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit indeed, Chele! Your stock ups seem reasonable and most of the items will keep for a while. I hope we get at least to your high temp for today because I have a blueberry and currant bushes to plant. Currants are so healthy, but you don't find them fresh in grocery stores because they are very fragile and don't ship well. But black currants have more Vitamin C than any other fruit, including citrus. The blueberry will replace the one that died last summer. We didn't even think about the Olympic marathon yesterday, so we didn't watch. I like The Crown so far, but am only in Season 1. How is Picard? We have watched all the Star Trek series except the 2 that are just available through CBS All Access, which we haven't sprung for yet. Dale is watching Star Trek: Enterprise during breakfast these days. We saw it when it was first out, but it's on Netflix now. Living in a smaller area probably kept us with things like Sadie Hawkins dances longer than those of you in more urban areas.
Kathy, I don't think I've seen Stephen King's The Stand, and I thought I had seen them all. I checked on IMDB and it looks like it was made into a TV series in the 90s, which is probably how I missed it. I'll have to see if Netflix or Prime has it. From the description, it looks pretty applicable and we can hope it won't go that far in our world. It looks like all the possible Covid-19 cases in NJ have tested negative so far. So hopefully that will be a good thing for the Sanford woman and there will be no threats there.
Are you getting some rest, Liz? I hope things will calm down on the Coronavirus front this week and beyond.
Becky, how's the knee today? Hope it's doing well and you have the energy to walk after church.
I made a monumental decision yesterday. I have seen one too many political posts on FB and late yesterday I posted a bit of a rant stating that I wouldn't be checking in much because I was getting tired of all the lies and half-truths that people were posting, many of them coming from Russian hackers and Putin does not have good intentions for our country. The kicker is the biggest offender among my friends is my own brother. He has been a died in the wool Trumphead since 2015, and I can't see that he or his family have realized any benefits from a Trump presidency, but he's always been pretty hard-headed. I even thought about snoozing or unfriending him. I have already snoozed another friend who was every bit as militant. I probably need to read more and Facebook less, but will miss what's going on in the lives of friends and former co-workers. Speaking of politics, Amy didn't do well yesterday, so my best bet might be to vote for Biden as a vote against Sanders. With a trillion dollar budget deficit looming and the current financial mess, we can't afford to give away any more free stuff.

Karen, interesting explanations I have read on health plan ideas...people would have more money to buy stuff or less money to go inti employee benefits in small companies. But pie in the sky will not work after this admin sends the deficit soaring.
My brother and his family here unfollowed me on FB.I see their stuff, but unless I comment on one of theirs, they see none of mine...like our 50th wedding anniversary which only my family ignored. We do not agree much in religion, guns, vaccines, politics..at least he is no longer into Limbaugh. He changed after second marriage. His second wife was difference religiously. His kids by the first marriage are different.
I mostly quit doing politics on fb because nobody listens to facts anyway. I am sick of it. The virus is another story. Arizona got faulty virus tests for this from feds!
Costco was as usually busy and nobody seemed excited, but it is the first I have ever bought toilet paper and got one of the last three!
Decided the patient's bathroom had to be cleaned and bedding changed...sigh. Nurses and home health care are not paid nearly enough.
Yeah sciatica does not like lugging a lot or mopping or standing in kitchen and running back and forth all day. It has been a year since gel shots on right knee and I should get in to get it approved because the knee is unhappy now. sigh.

Paris...They just shut down the Louve and told people to avoid crowded placed
England...12 new cases...talking about possible need to lockdown cities and close operations (subways!) and try to set up plan to help hospitals. Crematories and cemeteries getting ready for bodies!
Meanwhile we hear it is a political hoax to make the president look bad, a media star star saying it is just like a cold and Arizona got faulty virus testing kits from the feds?

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit and Happy 1st Day of March!
Thanks for the start Chele. I love the Star Trek series, but haven't seen the new one yet. I like the original series and Next Generation the best. I think The Stand was the first Stephen King book I read. I don't usually read horror either, but have read some of his non-horror books. I especially liked 11/22/1963 which is about someone that discovers a time portal and tries to prevent the Kennedy assassination. I was surprised by the romance in it and thought it was well done. The mini series based on that book was okay, but it left an awful lot out that was in the book. The only thing the stores seemed to be out of was Purell, so I don't think Floridians are especially alarmed yet either. There sure were a lot of people coughing and sneezing though, but that's normal for this time of year.
I did stock up on some staples and ordered contact lens supplies that I was low on. Since I wear gas perms, you can't even buy the solutions in the stores anymore. Then I tried to fill an eye drop prescription. The doctor's office had the wrong info on the prescription strength and the wrong number of bottles, plus they had my street name wrong. Other than that, it was fine! They will have to call the office tomorrow. Luckily, I'm not running out of it yet. I checked my pantry and almost all of my OTC meds had expired, so I bought some of those. We usually stock up some for hurricane season and I usually start buying one gallon of water each week. That way, I can hopefully avoid the bottled water frenzy that happens if a storm comes.
Karen, I saw The Stand series back in the 90s. Everyone at work was watching it and from what I remember it was pretty good. That's good news on the NJ people that were tested and I hope that means the Sanford woman doesn't have it. I mainly use FB for genealogy groups and they are really strict about no politics. Every once in awhile, a political kerfuffle of some type breaks out, but the moderators are quick to shut it down. I do have one BFF on FB and I know we have opposite views on some things, but she rarely ventures into politics. There are some hardcore Republicans in my family, but I don't know anyone that is wild about Trump. I think the list of candidates will be a lot smaller after Tuesday. Our local paper just endorsed Mayor Pete, but I wonder if he'll even be in it by then. I would also go for Biden over Sanders and hope he chooses Amy for VP.
Linda, pretty flowers! I used to work with a guy that listened to Limbaugh and Howard Stern. We told him his head was going to explode. Hope the sciatica and the patient are doing better.
Becky and Liz, hope you had a good day.

Kathy I saw where Pete Budagege or whatever his last name is dropped out today.Looks like it will be between Bernie and Joe.
Karen The only thing good about the half bath is the toilet will be closer. The shower/bathtub doesn't work anymore so I will still need to go further to shower.
Chele I will be glad to have it over with.
Karen On the news tonight they said something about the HEB app saying at the top shoppers are limited to a certain amount of hand sanitizers and stuff like that.I looked on my app and it doesn't say that.We didn't go to church today.Kenneth's belt came apart at the buckle so we went to buy him another one at TSC.I did get a walk in but with it being so windy I felt tired just from fighting the wind.I have to ignore the political junk on FB and I don't share them either.A couple of my friends are too radical so I don't even read them anymore.I guess I would be considered a Trump head but I don't agree with everything he says.I can't bring myself to vote for Bernie or Joe and now it's just Klobachar and Warren in addition to them left I guess.I can't say my life is any better or any worse since he's been in office.
I figure we have had trillion dollar deficits since Obama and I don't see any Republican or Democrat being able to change that unfortunately.
Linda I agree nobody listens to the facts on FB.I also don't agree it's a Democratic hoax. That is one of the stupidest things Trump has come out with.
