Good morning all,
Not even going to mention the weather, I'm sure you can guess what it's doing here. <insert lots of eye rolls>
I'll be leaving here in about an hour to head to the city. Today is my follow-up with the surgeon. I don't expect any issues, but will be happy to have this appt. behind me so I can really start to get on and work towards getting back to a little more normal routine. I'm hoping to hear that the pain I'm having is perfectly normal. I'm sure it probably is, but it's nice to hear it straight from the horses mouth. I'm still strictly in yoga pants mode. At some point that's got to change, but not until the tenderness and pain is gone. I don't care about real clothes that much. Haha.
RobinS - it's good to see you posting. I'm sorry to hear about the hip/back issues you were experiencing, I know that can be miserable. I'm glad you were able to find relief. Also I'm sorry about the stress. I hope that you are able to move past that quickly. Yes, you surmised correctly. I had an appendectomy 3 weeks ago. It was a whirlwind of a day. I arrived at the ER a little before 11am and was home before 7pm. Then a week later my husband had (planned) surgery on his upper right jaw and sinus. We've been feeling a little broken down recently. Haha.
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and get us started. I hope everybody has a good Tuesday and I'll check back in later with any updates.

Lora - good luck at your appointment today. Girl, I would wear yoga pants every single day if I could - LOL - In fact I am in a pair today at work with a big tshirt. I love that I can dress like this for my job. (I don't when I know we are having any type of meeting here)
Janet sorry to hear about your cousin. Lasagna left overs sound yummy.
Susie sorry about all the issues with DH's trainers and equipment that can be discouraging.
I am leaving work a little early today because I need to help DH take the pups to the vet. To pups that are 60 lbs each can be a lot to handle on your own.
My Zeke's birthday is mid month. He will be 3 years old. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. I love him so much. He is such a joy and comfort to me.
Weather is supposed to be nice here today but get cold by the end of the week :/

Hi! Me again!
I just saw a meme that one of the coaches in my group posted and it really rang true and spoke loudly to me, so I wanted to share. Of course, this is something we all know, but in the heat of the moment don't always think about. It was meaningful to me to see it spelled out like this.
"When you eat because you're feeling sad or stressed, remind yourself that what you'll ultimately do is turn one problem into two."

Good morning, everyone,
Lora, good luck with your visit today. I love the quote! And it is so true, after all. Boy! Your weather is just relentless! We had what seemed like endless rain, 2 years ago, and it just gets to you after a while...At least for now, you had to take things a little easy anyway. Hopefully the weather will be getting better right when you are ready to get back in to your full routine!
Robin, sorry to hear you had similar back/hip problems, but the good news is that you are better. I am doing lots of stretches and some leg strengthening and core building moves. Also, hanging from my inversion table really does stretch things out and make me feel better for some time. Sorry you have been having some stressful times...but a new baby is certainly something to be excited about. Its good to see you here and posting whenever you can.
Jana, rock those yoga pants! I love that you can be so comfortable at work... I get to wear scrubs every day at my full time job, so I certainly can't complain. I'm really glad to hear what you are learning from your group and the trainers. Thanks for sharing it. There is a lot that we can all relate to. And yippee for getting a handle on those cravings!
Susie, that sure stinks that DH is having such a time with his trainers and equipment. Do you think he has lost much ground from not being able to use that machine? Any word on when it will be available again?
Janet, I am so sorry about your cousin and what your families are going through. It must have been a tough day for you, but important for everyone, too. And to have a day like you did, after all that, must have been a challenge. I hope you have a better day today!
Andi, what kind of toaster oven did you end up getting? I have looked at several. I wonder if I would use the air fryer. It sounds good. I do like some things fried, and that would be a healthier way to do it, I think. All this talk about food makes me miss cooking more often. I do miss when we were a family, and I made delicious meals every night, but I just can't eat like that now! HA! I have found that my stomach does best, and I eat less, when I eat my breakfast around 10 in the morning, and "lunch" around 3:00....I have been eating healthy choices and amounts, and I am totally satisfied and haven't been feeling like prowling around the kitchen at night. Not every day is this way, but most of them. Today, I am waiting for the dryer repair person to arrive. I looked back there, and there is no good way for me to clean the lint hose, and I don't know if it will still smell like it is hot and burning after that gets cleaned. So, we will see what is going on. Of course, he will arrive between 8 and 5! I think he is supposed to call when he is on the way. I need to clean the kitchen and do a little food prep, so I will get that done. It is gloomy and rainy today, and like Jana, it is going to get a little colder as the week goes on. I have guiltily been enjoying the milder winter, like Andi....my electric bill has been high enough, so to be able to leave the heat off is a good thing for me. I am going to fill my coffee mug again, and continue my wait... I'll be back, RobinMD

Hi again!
That was about as quick and easy as it gets, I suppose. My appt. was at 9:15, the Dr. walked into the exam room at 9:17, and by 9:40 we were on our way back to the car to head home. Everything is fine. He wants me to give it another month before I do any time of lifting over 5 lbs., straining, stretching up over my head or core work. He said the navel incision was actually that, an incision where he had to cut through all of the layers...skin, fat, fascia & muscle and then stitch it all back up again. The other two incisions are more of a "poke hole". Anyway, he wants to give all of those layers plenty of time to fully heal before I start working them out, to keep me from tearing anything lose and getting a hernia. Otherwise, I'd be back to see him for surgery #2. No Doc, I'm not down with that particular scenario. I'll be a good girl and follow instructions. Other than that, he said exercise like treadmill or elliptical were perfectly fine and to do those as I was able to and without pain or pulling sensations. So great...the Dreadmill and the Beast are acceptable. Gah! I hate those.
Jana - hope the pups get a clean bill of health at the vet, and that they behave. Lol. My Lab used to LOVE going to the vet, but poor Lily would fight to not get out of the car.
RobinMD - I hope the dryer guy doesn't keep you waiting all day, and that the fix is something simple and inexpensive. Fingers crossed!!

Lora, that is a great report, and so good to know what your limitations still need to be at this point. Keep those yoga pants going! The timing of this whole thing wasn't bad, because you would SO be missing doing more things once Spring and Summer are underway... I imagine Mark's visit will go as good as yours, because he seems to have been doing so well, too.
Looks like I will be getting a new dryer. It is under my home warranty, so they will call me in a day or two and let me know what my options are. The repair guy was really nice...he said that a new dryer will be much more energy efficient and much safer (2 things I hadn't thought about). The old Maytag is so old that parts are no longer available, so you know energy efficiency was not one of its strong points!
It is still messy outside so I am going to get out my cross stitch and get to work on some baby gifts for my nephew...I am running out of time, but I have a few things that I already started and set aside, so I will see what I can get done. I am still going to give them my dad's baby chair, too. I hope everyone is having a good day. I will bbl, RobinMD

RobinMD - So glad the new dryer is covered under the home warranty! And yes, I'm thinking that a new one will be more energy efficient, and it sounds like the safer part goes without saying.
We had the sun pop out here for a little bit, but not it's just overcast and blah. But not raining for the moment, anyway.
We just had the funniest thing happen. Mark was doing the taxes this afternoon, as his companies VPN server went down and he can't get on the network. He came out of his office just about mad enough to chew nails. He knew something was wrong but couldn't pinpoint the problem. Turbotax was saying that we owed Federal over $66K. I finally said, let's just go line by line. So by Box 5 on the W-2 we'd found the issue. Somehow he'd gotten an extra digit typed into the box and the program thought we made 7 million dollars more than we actually did. hahaha! Once we fixed that, things looked normal. I was cracking up. IDK why a program like that doesn't have a threshold setting and when something is that far off from the other boxes, it should say, "Hang on there buddy. You want to double check that entry?"

Hello Everyone...made it to my 7:15 class this morning, and then was off to DS's to watch DGS for awhile. I actually took him to DD's house and she, DGD, DGS, and I all took a walk and then the kids played for awhile. We all enjoyed it. I took DGS back to his house and we worked on some school work from when he was sick (jeez...make up work for kindergarten). I got home with a about half an hour to spare before study group. Next up is bridge this evening, so I have about 90 minutes to read if I get off of this computer - lol!
Lora - yippee for the good report. I almost laughed out loud at you making 7 million extra - hey...you can take us all on an RO vacation! I will expect to hear reports soon about the dreaded "beast." HA HA
RobinMD - glad the dryer issue is taken care of anyway...how great that it is covered by your home warranty. The energy-saving aspect will be awesome.
Jana - good luck getting the "pups" to the vet. DGS mentioned taking his dog for a walk and I said, " I don't think so." If another dog came along, I think he would pull me right over...he is not very well trained and I am thinking my knee would give out or something.
Waving to everyone else...hope to bbl

Ha! Lora, I'm with Susie! Let's have a big RO vacation! You have to love that 7 million dollars extra money!
Susie, I hope you got some reading done. We had several hours of warm sunshine today, and the dogs and I went out in the field to stretch our legs...now, however, there are strong storms lurking on the horizon that will be bringing some thunder and lightening in an hour or two. Oh well, at least we got out and enjoyed it while we had it!
I looked through my mail today, and realized that I had gotten my vehicle emissions form but I couldn't remember when it was due. Well, tomorrow! If you don't do it, they charge you $15 a day, until you get it done. There is a place right near work, so I will get it done during lunch, but I had a cold sweat moment there, thinking I was going to have to drive way across town to get it done today, and didn't know when the dryer guy was going to be here. It all worked out in the end, but it was dumb of me to let it go so long. I have been fairly unproductive today, but got some rest, and my legs feel pretty good, even after taking our walk. I'm going to get off of here before the storms hit, and go get some things together for work tomorrow. I am waving to all, and I hope you had a great day.

Hi Everyone, Another long day with my Angel plus since we had less of our own kids they put some in from the other class to give us joy. Not! Then stopped at CVS in their mini clinic as I needed to get a Tb test for work. Have to go back and get it read on Thursday evening after work. It should be fine. I don't expect any issues. Lora, glad that your appointment went so well. Robin, glad that you will getting a new dryer that will be safer and I am sure will eliminate the concern about so much lint buildup. Susie, glad that you enjoyed time with your grandkids. Jana, hope getting your doggies to the vet went well. I thought I'd have a real hard time getting Cassie in her box based on when she was younger but now she has been so good. My secret is that I put her food in the back of the box. She goes in some and then I push her in. Lol! Have a great remainder of the night.

RobinMD - glad you have time tomorrow to get that emissions test!
Janet - had to laugh at you pushing Cassie into the box. Too bad you had to deal with the angel AND extra kids...hope tomorrow is a better day.
Just got back from bridge...so far I have gotten 7 1/2 glasses of water (60 oz) in today. That makes me 4 oz short, but I am not going to push it when I will be going to bed soon - ha!

Just wanted to say, absolutely if we actually had 7 mil in income last year, I'd be hosting a trip to some terrific tropical island for all of us! RobinMD - Girl, you're checking all kinds of things off the list today. First the dryer, then the car emissions. Way to go! Susie - I don't think I'd be sweating 4 ounces either. Good job getting closer to your goal though. Janet - Sounds like you're checking things off the to-do list too! Good job getting the TB test started. I'm super tired, I think I'm going to head off to bed. I've got another busy day of watching it rain tomorrow. I'll want to make sure I'm good and rested up for that.
