Chele, what are you hearing on DN? Did she have high blood pressure while she was pregnant? If not, it's a bit unusual that it showed up after Andrew was born. I hope they got things under control and everyone is home now and things are getting to their new normal. How are your sniffles? Our tree pollen is high right now but apparently not what I'm allergic to yet. My back and knees are still a little sore from Thursday but not bad and I have a bit more energy. I decided to change the bed so we will have clean sheets to lose an hour sleep in . I'm trying to get my head wrapped around yet another time change. We don't have to get up early tomorrow and have nothing special going on Monday, so maybe we can make up that extra hour. The Vols baseball team got beat by Wright State yesterday, and it was the first loss of the season. I believe that's not far from you. Dale had to go out and refill the feeder this morning and you should see the line! I think the red headed woodpeckers have each been there a couple of times. Sorry to hear DN is still having problems, Becky. She definitely deserves a break and I hope she will feel so much better after this situation resolves. At least she is now cancer free. It's a shame about SXSW, but, like you, I think it's the right move for the citizens of Austin. There are going to be a lot of things canceled in the coming months and it will be a real hit to the global economy. But infecting more people with the virus if we don't have to shouldn't be an option. I checked the Covid19 map this morning and there are more cases in more states. And we still have problems with testing, even though Trump said yesterday that everyone who needs tested should be able to get tested, which isn't exactly what we're hearing from our local health departments. Kathy, what are your birthday weekend plans? It looks like there are more Covid19 cases plus a couple of deaths in FL and at least one case on the Atlantic coast that wasn't there yesterday. Have you heard anything about whether there will be a decrease in spring breakers this month? Is your weather a little cooler today? How is DM doing? I heard from my friend who is stuck in China that his 90 year old DF has sustained a crack in his hip that has somehow gotten infected, despite not sustaining a fall. Oh, the ravages of age. Get some rest this weekend, Liz. I know you had a crazy week. How are Zoe's cysts healing? You can put a cone of shame on her to keep her from bothering them but not much you can do about Wally. He would tell you he's just trying to help. Linda, how are things with Bob? Did you get a full night's sleep? When will Bob be able to resume walking Micki so it won't be all on you? We didn't get any snow over night, so we have some clouds, but otherwise sunny and cold. Dale took Arya for a walk in the sunshine a little while ago and he was so proud that she brought me a leaf as a gift. When I pulled it out of her mouth, it became apparent that something was attached to that leaf that was kind of nasty and had passed through a digestive system of some critter or another. I had determined this would be a master gardener-free day. Well, at least until I got 4 emails, one with an updated manual attached that I had to proofread. So that took almost 2 hours (lots of grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure issues). So, now it's off to clean the kitchen, which should have been done this morning. At least I got the bed changed first. Happy Saturday, All! Remember to reset those clocks--unless you're Linda, and we're all jealous that you don't have to.

Karen, thanks for the start. What map are you looking at? I've been looking at the Johns Hopkins map, but it doesn't seem to be updated for the latest in Florida. I just saw that the NY cases have jumped to 76. I haven't heard of any changes to Spring Break plans, but I would think a lot of parents would step in and not let their kids go. DM and her sisters are doing well. I guess the ravages of age affect everyone differently and they are lucky to have had no falls or fractures. Hope your friend's DF recovers quickly.
Chele, thanks for the early BD wishes. We're in the 60s today, but it's pretty windy.
Waving to all. Hope you have a good day.

Kathy, I use the map on the NY Times website and it seems to update somewhat frequently. In fact, when I looked this morning it had 7 cases for FL and when I pulled it up just now to copy the link for you, it now says 8. Here's the link: NY Times Coronavirus Map. I agree that if I were the parent of a college student, I might be very wary about their going somewhere for spring break, and would say no way if they were planning to go out of the country, even to Mexico. I'm glad your elder female family members are doing so well healthwise. I hope they continue with no falls or fractures because that seems to be what does in a lot of older folks. Wish I could say the same about my family, but all I have left are 2 aunts in their late 70s, and one of them has already had an osteoporosis-related spinal fracture (mom's DS). My friend's male family members have much better longevity, and he has had several of his male ancestors live into their 90s (in fact, I think his grandfather died at 99 years), so things look good for him. But it's not so much how long you live as how many healthy years you have. What do you have planned for your birthday weekend?

Euw on Arya's βpresentβ
Hope things get better for DN who does deserve a break.
Trump said he just knows this stuff better than experts? He did not care until it looked bad politically. The army had a term for people like him....SNAFU. Hope it does not turn into FUBAR, their other term.
Actually slept last night
The patient is doing well and has energy. Patient is now paying attention to news and picturing mass shortages . I had planned library trip, mail drop, couple things I need for a recipe and baking cookies. scratch that. Did library, mail drop, trip to CVS to use coupon, sent to stock up on dog food, needed gas in car and large trip to TJs. Got home, emptied car , walked dog and went out again with patient to another pharmacy to pick up meds and go to Safeway for bottled water and the excitement if being somewhere! Home again, put it all away, made lunch and did two loads of laundry.....cookies tomorrow?
Finally on sofa with a book.

Happy Birthday Kathy.

Happy International Womenβs Day.
I was hoping to have a female presidential candidate this year and then the White House. Fingers crossed for 2024.

Happy DST shift. AZ does not change, so now I am effectively on California time!
With allergies ramped up, I am constantly rubbing my nose or eyes...kept a kleenex by my hand in the car while out yesterday so fingers did not touch skin.
Very cloudy/stormy looking but no rain nearby, Tucson is getting slammed.Guess I better get up and walk the pooch. Yesterday was 88 and hot in sun, now I need to find my sweater! Europe was ten degrees hotter this winter.

Kathy, I hope you are enjoying your st birthday! How are the nonagenarians? Linda, guess it is your turn for the wild weather swings. I am glad Bob is doing better and wanted to get out of the house. Becky, I would be aching to after a deep clean. Moving tables and furniture is exhausting. At least you have a few days to recover. I hope they will be able to remove the blockage for hour DN without another surgery. Poor dear has gone through enough. My DN had to go back to the hospital for another day due to high BP. She had this with first pregnancy and then it went back to normal after the birth. Liz, how is your world? R&R this weekend, I hope. Are the plans for the new bldg full speed ahead or delayed by COVID-19? I just received an email from our insurance company that we can, if needed, get tested for COVID-19 with no out of pocket costs. No mention of whether the tests are available. Karen, Iggy went to the ladiesβ basketball games on Friday. They do not get the love the menβs team gets. They made the finals of the Atlantic 10 tournament. Go Lady Flyers! The robins are back chasing each other through the trees. My eyes are burning but no sneezing today. We have a beautiful sunny day at 60Β° so it feels like spring. The lily bulbs are getting some leaves popping through. Tomorrow I go get the taxes done. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Happy International Women's Day to all of you. Chele, I was also hoping we would have at least a female candidate in 2020, but would have preferred a female president. I was really disappointed when Kamala Harris dropped out of the race, and if she doesn't get tapped for VP or AG, somebody is seriously missing an opportunity. If we can get a good female as #2, perhaps that person can be the candidate in 2024. Did anyone see Elizabeth Warren on SNL? How are the allergies doing today? I had a runny nose a little while ago but it may have been working out in the garage where it was a bit chilly. Sorry your DN is still having problems. Is she out of the hospital now? That has to make it really difficult on all of them, with her DH having to deal with 2 kids at home, including a newborn. Are they geting help from the grandparents on both sides? I hope this resolves for her quickly. I got an email from Medicare similar to yours about Covid-19. Nice that they will pay for it, but from what I heard a few minutes ago, the tests still aren't all that available. I have to say that Tennessee men's and women's basketball teams are treated pretty much on par, but that's definitely the exception to the rule. Congrats to the Lady Flyers! If they win the tournament they will get an automatic bid to the NCAA. TN women have been to all 38 previous NCAA tournaments, but we'll have to see if they get in this year. No guarantees due to getting knocked out in the 2nd round of the SEC tourney. Good luck with taxes tomorrow.
Linda, I would be willing to say I was on California time if I didn't have to deal with losing an hour of sleep. Do you notice any real difference there? Did you get any rain? If Europe has been that much warmer than normal, that does not bode well for us this summer, especially for those of you in the Deep South and Southwest.
I hope you aren't paying dearly today for all that cleaning yesterday, Becky. What have you heard lately on DN?
Kathy, hope you're enjoying your special day. Did you go to Bonefish Grill, the Mexican place you like, or something different? Did the weather guessers at least give you a gift of comfortable temperatures and no rain?
Are you getting some R&R this weekend, Liz? I know they are keeping you up on the latest Covid-19 from your system. How are Zoe's cysts?
I've had a busy day, being a good little master gardener, and planted a bunch of seeds that I hope will turn into nice plants for our plant sale at the end of next month, plus a few for me to grow here. I have a flat of tomatoes (4 varieties), half a flat of peppers (2 varieties), golden zucchini, a couple varieties of cukes, Swiss chard, and a long purple eggplant. I also put 14 herb plants in the Aerogardens, half of them basils of different varieties, plus German Chamomile, Mexican Tarragon, Greek Oregano, a thyme, and a couple more I can't remember. I also stuck some Swiss chard and golden beet seeds in the ground, so we'll see if they come up and they don't end up rabbit food. I told Dale if we have to self-quaratine this summer, hopefully we'll have lots of fresh veggies to eat. I got my growlight shelf all set up yesterday, so that saved a bit of time. But I had to clean both Aerogardens before I could replant them and that took some time. I learned a new technique to kill fungus gnat eggs in seed starting mix--boil water and add enough to the soil to get it moist (not wet), mixing well, then let it cool a bit before planting. It felt good to work with warm soil and not have all the dust everywhere. We'll see how well it works with the plants. I also did a load of workout clothes this morning. Arya let us sleep until 8, but that would have been 7 yesterday, so didn't gain any sleep. Maybe tomorrow....
