Good afternoon chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Hello to all from Covid-19 land. I've been in meetings all day and it's just been tiring. I went home Friday night late with a headache and half sick to my tummy. Got home, made Gary something to eat and then just went to bed. I still wasn't feeling great on Sat. for most of the day. Laid low yesterday and back to insanity this morning. Chele - we had nice weather for the most part all weekend. I took Wally to the park yesterday for the first time this year so he had a blast sniffing the universe! Made bubble-up pizza for dinner which I haven't done in ages so Gary was a happy boy. How are your allergies doing? How is Iggy? Are the birdies having fun with the feeder? Zoe's cysts are looking a bit better but Wally continues to try to lick them all better. Kathy - Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! Hope the day and weekend were fun and relaxing. It's pretty much a doo-doo show here with all the panic and ridiculous insanity of people hoarding items and wearing masks in public. We have 13 that are pending test results and 2 confirmed. The disinformation out there is just too ridiculous. Linda - really enjoyed your cartoon from the weekend. Glad the patient has become more independent. Sounds like you found another good place to nosh. Gary took me out for Mexican Sat. evening and what I really enjoyed with the margarita . Not like me normally but I think I needed it. DST is just a pain for me, I want my hour back but that's not happening. So sorry about DBIL and that whole situation. It's been a terrible ordeal for him from what you've been able to share. Becky - sounds like you've been very productive in getting the living room ready. I felt accomplished just walking the dogs, going to the dog food store and grocery shopping this weekend. How is Kenneth? Are the fur babies doing well? Are you ready for the surgery? Karen - wow on the two hours of proof reading for you and YUCK on Arya's little leaf and something present! I thought of you last Friday as I actually broke down and had Udon soup with marinated tofu for lunch. It wasn't half bad but then again, I was moderately starving. It's just very hectic and so many unknowns right now. My Primary care doc has 2 of her 3 offices closed. One physician had been in contact with the attorney from Westchester and he came down with Covid-19, then another physician and a tech. The hits just keep on coming. How are you feeling at this point? How has working out at the big gym been? I am going to scoot; I have emails to write and data to gather. Be safe and have a good evening dear ladies! Ciao for now~

Linda, what's the word on DBIL's sister? Seven weeks is a long time to hanging around at death's door and she has apparently outlived all the expectations. I know DBIL has to be exhausted. That hospice seems a little unusual. The ones I'm familiar with meet the needs of the patients. Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies sound better to me than oatmeal butterscotch. So perhaps that wasn't such an omission of a word as a good idea.
How are you doing today, Becky? I can see the look on Scooter's little face. How can things pile up so easily? My worst place is the coffee table in the living room that seems to be the depository for magazines, cameras, heating pads and a bunch of stuff that has homes but it's much easier to just leave things there "for future use" (right!). Good for you for getting that all cleaned out before you are recovering.
Chele, MI, OH, and WV seem to be holding their own on novel coronavirus, but they look very odd on the map with all the cases in surrounding states. There are no cases in AL right now, but 2 in FL not far from DB, so it's only a atter of time there. Did I hear that the Lady Flyers won their tournament and are NCAA tournament bound? How's DN's BP?
There looks to be a Covid-19 case on the FL coast, Kathy, according to the NY Times (and probably the Johns Hopkins) map. I hope that's not close to you. The numbers are climbing in your state. I saw that Matt Gatez was making fun last week, wearing a gas mask, and then came in contact with a diagnosed person at CPAC and now he's on quarantine. Serves him right for being an a$$. Good luck with the taxes this week. I hadn't thought about Val Demmings for VP. Yes, she would be a great one. There are definitely options. I have heard Stacey Abrams mentioned, but I don't think she has the experience that some other prospects have.
Linda, did you go to art class today? How is Bob doing? It looked like you had some pretty serious wind there on Saturday, given the way the flags were blowing at the Giants ballpark.
I see the # of Covid-19 classes are over 100 in NY, Liz. Not surprised you've been in so may meetings today. Sorry you didn't feel well over the weekend. You have to be exhausted. But the WH is still in denial. WOW! on your primary doc closing offices. We are fortunate that there are only 3 cases in TN so far--2 middle and 1 west. Of course, that is most likely due to an absence of tests. I hope things are going as well as can be expected in your system. How are Zoe's cysts? I hope they are healing, but I know that didn't happen with the ones Phoebe had. The udon soup with marinated tofu sounds fabulous. I'm probably about 95% right now. I was really tired after my workout at "the big gym" on Thursday, but I love having the larger selection of machines so I can work my muscles differently.
We have bright sunshine and it's 60 degrees. Feels great outside and Arya and I have been there frequently. We are expecting rain for the next couple of days, so we'll be limited on our outdoor time, despite the temps being in the 60s and 70s. I did the usual Monday cleaning and laundry and, of course, there always seems to be master gardener things going on. I've been playing close attention to the stock markets and related novel coronavirus and things don't look good. I've been texting back and forth wit my sis from another mom about our friend whose son took his life last weekend. We are both extremely concerned about something she posted on FB over the weekend and "sis" thinks she knows our friend's psychiatrist and has placed a call. We both know that the shrink won't be able to tell her anything due to HIPAA, but at least our concerns and fears can come to the doc's attention and hopefully helping her to get more significant intervention. I thought the boyfriend was living with her, which would give her someone close by. I learned today that he lives a couple of hours away, so my friend is now on her own, which is very scary to us.

The panic over the OPEC vs Russian gas feud triggered an auto shutdown on stock market! 2000 points down. wow. Other stocks that relate to travel and entertainment and industry relying on China are not doing well. Great reason SS should not be privatized and tied to stocks.
perspective ...20,000 here have died so far from regular flu this season especially the older or frail (which is still not over )and hardly a word said about it. It is oh yeah, normal. Hand washing is what people are supposed to do about that! People still won't get shots, but the media frenzy on this new virus created hyper awareness. A lot of people do not even know they have this one. The problem is how easily it becomes pneumonia. whereas regular flu makes everybody miserable. This one will now be part of the seasonal stuff too.
Keep calm and wash your hands right!
That said, I checked pantry pull dates and stocked up on nonperishables in case we had a quarantine. I really need to clean out the freezer. I made sure we have enough prescription meds and OTC painkillers because so much of that or its ingredients and almost all vitamins today come from China and India. So shipments may lag. I got some extra detergent too as plastic containers for that are made in China.
But your freezer, your water, your electricity....this is not a bomb. or hurricane!
Friend visited this morning, so after that I went to Safeway...full shelves...and plan on quiet afternoon.
DSIL's husband's sister finally went to rest this morning, poor soul.

May she rest in peace, Linda. She certainly had a hard road to the end.

So I have a funeral here Thursday. Patient not going anywhere for long yet.
We are three hours off the east coast now, so I am later. Since we do not change, we synch with CA.
Got a bunch of canned stuff today. I have not bought canned potatoes in years, I used to brown them with onions and parsley. They are making some interesting kinds of beans these days and lots of flavors of Uncle Ben's ready cooked rice. Powdered milk is used in bread baking, which I keep meaning to do.
Dsil and recently bereaved hubby are flying to see daughter in Hawaii Friday from here...prearranged and prepaid. They will be here a day on the way back, but we won't see them because we do not need people off multiple planes bringing the patient viruses. Spent a lot of time with her here in Jan.
Supposed to rain here tonight and tomorrow morning. Hope I can squeeze in a Micki walk. He won't poop in the yard unless desperate...saves it for a walk. sigh.
