Good morning! Marm, what are you doing up so early on here, or am I just slow moving? Yes, that is it! I seem to like this time change! I’m getting more sleep I think. Now if only we could keep this year around! I’ve showered and now it’s time to eat breakfast and plan my day. Potluck tonight so I plan to make the (green) Watergate salad. I have a list of to-do things in my mind and should get at some of them.
Ruth, we’re having a cooler week too, but no snow in the forecast (I think). One never know for sure. Have a good day all!

Good morning, all LTMs,
If I don't get here now, I will miss another day. We are picking up friends at11:30. taking a water taxi to a restaurant on Palm Island for lunch, then maybe wandering around over there for a bit. You are allowed to have cars on the island, but it can only be reached by ferry or the water taxi. It should be fun.
I talked w/ DDIL yesterday about our upcoming trip to Indianapolis, and then to go to Louisville to see Baby Nora. I explained that DH & I are not afraid to fly, but think DGD Alyson & her DH should make the decision about our coming to see the baby. Of course, if we had any cold symptoms, we would not go at all. I am so frustrated w/ all the panic talk coming from everywhere. Now, seniors are being advised to "stock up on meds & non-perishable foods". Now, the store shelves will be stripped when it is NOT necessary. I always keep my meds up to date, and filling my pantry w/ canned goods is like suggesting we are in for a month long blizzard or devastating hurricanes. This is just hysteria!
OK, I need to get ready to go. Have a wonderful day!
Rose Marie

Good Morning Marm and LTMs,
We're starting out the day at 27* and going up to 52* and partly cloudy today, so it will be a bit warmer than yesterday. We have a slight chance of a rain shower and winds will be S at 10-15 mph so not as windy as yesterday.
It's 7:15 am, and Hannah is at work at the donut shop this morning. With the time change it is still dark out there and looks like the middle of the night, but it should start to get light in a while.
As far as I know there are no special plans for today, so we will just wait and see what comes up today. This afternoon the Home Health nurse is coming and also one of the occupational therapists will come to help with my getting to be able to walk better and for a longer time.
Aunty Acid, Tuesday March10: All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
Have a great day everyone.
Doris

My usual Tuesday morning routine with laundry and getting things done around here. Just had breakfast and taking a brief break before getting busy again. My later shift today.
Marlene, meant to ask yesterday about your breakfast burritos. Sounds good! How do you make them?
Marm, just heard another one of our friends just sold her house the first day it was listed. I didn't hear though if she had more than one offer like our other friends last week that sold their house after having three offers the first day it was listed. Must be a sellers market now.

Rose Marie, we are planning a trip to Indiana also but we're having second thoughts. I'm for sure not a person to be taken in by scare tactics and I do feel that they're overblowing the whole coronavirus thing but it makes little sense to me for us to leave a place where we're highly unlikely to get this virus and go to a place where we may be VERY likely to get it and in traveling come in contact with a lot more people than we usually meet in an entire year. I for sure wouldn't want to be on a plane right now. Everytime I go on one I get a cold so I'm sure that if in all those people packed together had any virus, I'd get it. Worse though if dh got it because of his "underlying conditions" CDC is, yes, advising people not to travel. The actual flu though, kills more people each year than this coronavirus. If I were you though, Gareth, I'd be thinking hard about working and having all those people breathe and cough on you and handing you papers they have touched with who knows what on their hands. As I said I never have worried about catching things and I'm pretty sure "they" are exaggerating this whole thing but as we get older we have to be more concerned.I never even used to get flu shots even though they were given free at the hospital where I worked.

Oh and, RM, by the time you have symptoms you've probably already infected those around you. That's why it makes no sense to isolate and detain people that are sick because it's already too late

What a beautiful day we have! How I love to see the sun & it helps my disposition too.
I went to Bible Study this morning, which meant I had to get up earlier then usual & start moving right away. However we decided not to join the "lunch bunch" today. We were not too crazy about the food where they were going. Instead I made a chicken fajita dinner that I had purchased at Aldi's. It was very good & WW friendly - only 5 pts with the flour tortilla. There's enough for a second meal & I will be buying it again.
Gareth, my breakfast burrito was very simple. After you asked I checked online for a recipe & they were basically the same. I make it like scrambled eggs but add veggies - usually only onion & green pepper but you can add whatever you like; bacon, ham or sausage & any other veggies. Top it with cheese &/or salsa & roll it up in a tortilla. Simple to make & good to eat!! It is a welcomed change from the same old breakfast stand-bys.
I'm not overly concerned about the coronavirus but I intend to avoid crowds & crowded places when possible. I won't push my luck. I'm not stocking up on supplies but being quarantined isn't fun. I vaguely remember when families were quarantined with the measles many years ago. I remember Mom telling that the men would sleep in the barn or some other farm building - but that may have been during the diphtheria/lockjaw time. Mom's sister got it & she said the doctor did surgery on the dining room table. Didn't do any good cause she couldn't open her mouth afterwards. All her teeth were pulled so she could eat. Maybe that was what the surgery was for. That was long before I was born.
Time to finish up my odd jobs around here. I'm great at starting things & then getting de-railed.

Mary*, I'm early, I waited to get us started. I'm not sure why I woke so early and was in bed late to. But one thing for sure I didn't need to rush around. Hope you enjoyed the PLuck.
Rose Marie*, Hope your plans go well.
Doris*, Keep that body working you will get there.
Gareth*, I think it is a sellers market. As the neighbor to said his friend is looking for a house, and might buy ours, But I think we do have buyer. Now that is down the line, so who knows by them maybe no one will want it. Be out of the buyers market.
Ruth*, Well I know you won't see me taking any chances either. DD did get colds to w/flying.
Marlene*, Gee, I just came across some Fajita mix I had made and in the Freezer. But its only for one serving. At times I make it up into Servings. Your burrito is close to way I just toss things together after making a one large full skillet Omlet for DH/I and LO's is for the like burrito w/extra cheese and Salsa. I didn't think yur hubby would eat something like Salsa. I'm sure a lot of people didn't think it would get that bad either till it hit.
Well, I for one am not walking around w/head buried in the sand. I'm thankful here so far the Virus hasn't hit. But that I am. Only takes one person to get things going. And if your not healthy best to be careful. I know of someone that travels all over the country/ country's. Our meds come from all over. And if something hits and they are not getting made, then what? But up to date on meds anyhow. I already wash my hands more often than some I know. So nothing new. I also have sanitizer and things use often. I used to be that person heck if I got cold big deal. And never mind being w/others sick or colds..But hardly ever did anyhow. Now I run from someone that has one. Well off that subject. We are always stocked so no problem like that anyhow. Day was a norm. But Right now I feel stuffy. We did get part of the answer machine ok. but still a problem we need to reprogram it. Trying to figure out how to get a manual for it. As lost ours. and I guess they done have this model anymore. about 2 yrs. old.
Sleep well. Marm~`

Marm, I bet you can find the manual online. Just do a search with the model number. I pretty much look up all my manuals because I usually lose track ofthe real thing
