Thanks for the start, Chele. How are the allergies? Other than a fever, I wonder how we are supposed to know if it might be novel coronavirus during allergy season. Still just 3 OH cases in Cleveland? I noticed that both Democrat candidates canceled rallies in OH due to the virus. There were several states that Biden won over the last couple of weeks where he didn't even step foot into the state (including my own), so I wonder how much the rallies (or debates, for that matter) even do anything that can't be done with news show soundbites. Dale saw an oriole at the feeder yesterday. We've had a lot of activity, but that's a bird I haven't seen yet. I need to get out and refill the suet blocks because they are running a bit low and the woodpeckers love them. I have heard that there may be NCAA basketball games without any fans. Is Iggy's company still planning on a presence at the Round One games there?
Linda, best of luck with the funeral tomorrow evening. Do the elbow bump, but avoid handshakes and hugs--easier said than done. Definitely put in an appearance and skedaddle. And take your own pen to sign the guest book. Good use of alcohol to disinfect everything. Did you use 70% or higher? The donation is a good idea. That reminds me I have to send one to the humane society for my GF's son. Is Bob continuing to recover well? Did you go to the museum today? Dale and I were talking last night about the need to avoid buffets of any sort right now, so I guess we won't be going to the sushi place for a while. We might stop at a local place for takeout some day soon.
Prayers and good Karma for you today, Becky.
Kathy, there seem to be a few more cases of Covid-19 in northern FL. Hope they are still staying clear of you and the NSB clan members. Are you still experiencing a heat wave? Taxes done yet?
I'm sure things are still off the charts for you, Liz. I know there are cases in the city, but what about closer to home? We now have one confirmed case in East Tennessee, but it's a couple of hours north of here. How's Zoe doing?
It may be Becky empathy or perhaps I overdid something yesterday at AF, but I woke up in the middle of the night with pretty severe knee pain. I'm managing it with Biofreeze, a special arnica salve that massage therapists love, and the heating pad. So, I'm laying a bit low today. A load of laundry is done and I baked some purple sweet potatoes, but I may not do much more. I think it may hurt too bad to walk downstairs, so I may not even vibe when Dale comes home. He went to the pool and will do a grocery shopping trip on the way home, which means I won't have to stop tomorrow. I may just concentrate on upper body at Gold's tomorrow if the knee isn't at least 85% by then. I had a personal best on the leg press at Osteo last week, but may have to dial it back tomorrow. DF would have turned 90 today. We lost him almost 24 years ago. He should have gone to college to become an engineer and would have been good at it. But he also loved interacting with people, so he did well as a customer service rep for IBM and then Simplex. He was an early adopter of technology, so he would be so excited about the internet, being able to stream, and using cell phones. I was definitely a daddy's girl.

Chele, thanks for the start. How are the allergies today? They were showing all of our allergy indicators at high levels since we haven't had any rain for awhile. On top of everything else, the early predictions for hurricane season don't look good. Those tend to change as it gets closer, so I don't pay too much attention to them yet. Karen, from interviews of people that have had it, the symptoms of coronavirus sound a lot worse than allergies and the fever is pretty high. LOL on taxes being done. I had to go over to DM's last night to take her trash bin in and get her mail, so I got the file from her 2018 taxes at the same time. The heat wave will probably continue through at least October. There were 8 new cases announced today in FL. One is from GA and the other 7 all had international travel. They are all being isolated. It seems like all of the cases here involve international travel with the exception of the ones in Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale area). Still no cases identified in my immediate area, but NSB is in Volusia County and they do have a couple of cases. This site has the latest for Florida: Florida COVID-19 Hope the knee improves quickly. Those anniversaries of deaths of our loved ones are always kind of sad. My DF would've turned 86 later this year. He did get to see cell phones and the internet, but they've advanced a lot since he died in 2008. I saw something about being really careful with the measurements of the ingredients if you make your own hand sanitizer as too much alcohol can be harmful to the skin. Becky, thinking of you and hoping all goes well. Linda, sounds like a good plan to just check in at the funeral. My dad always liked his corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's, but I've never been a fan. It's actually an Irish-American dish and I was happy to not see it on the menus in Ireland! I ate lots of seafood there and the occasional Irish stew. I think most of the big St. Patrick's parades have been cancelled now. Hope your DBIL and DSIL have a good relaxing vacation in Hawaii. They sure deserve it. Liz, how goes the battle against those forces of evil today?

Karen, I am glad you have great memories of DF. I was also a Daddy’s girl. Allergies are holding steady at just making me drowsy. I haven’t taken any meds today and they only increase the drowsiness. Wow! An oriole! I don’t think I have seen one of those. Yes, the woodies love the suet. I won’t be going to any buffets either. When it is leftover night we have our own buffet. Hope the knee gets better overnight.
Becky, I hope all is going well.
Waving to the rest of the crew.
I went to Walmart for personal items like shampoo and decided to see of they had disinfectant wipes. Nope! TP was low in supply as well as pain relievers and fever reducers. We don’t know what is going to happen next week for the First Four. The governor says no crowds for sporting events but the NCAA has not ruled yet.

Definitely no fans in the stands for NCAA tournament in Dayton and Cleveland. It is possible NCAA will change venues. That means 4.6 million dollars worth of business gone for Dayton.

rain began yesterday and will be on and off through Friday. Lots of ponding water in roads. Couple places in neighborhood had mini lakes compete with ducks. i walk dog in the short opportunities. So for a while the pollen count is way down. Mulberry is blooming and leafing out...worse than ragweed. Citrus buds are ready to pop.
Surgeon says Patient will still be healing four more weeks , so I really am not going much of anywhere except for groceries or meds so I will not bring something home to him. About two miles away at an Intel factory, someone had corona. Already had it at ASU from returning traveler. Spring break will add to that.
Did another dash to Safeway in the quiet part of their day to stop up on more stuff. Freezer is full. Hope not to have to go much. Cashiers are wearing gloves to handle cash there.
So I had to say I must miss the funeral. I was going for dbil, had only met the deceased about six times briefly. Kind of relieved not to be driving in dark with rain. Have always had difficulties with the bright lights and then trying to see. I used regular rubbing alcohol right out of the bottle yesterday!

Chele, I just saw that there will be no fans for March Madness. That will definitely have a big economic impact on the host cities, but I can understand why they're doing it. Just one of my crazy ideas, but maybe they should let each team pipe in some crowd noise so it won't seem so strange! I went out to get the mail and an ibis was wandering around by the mailbox. He didn't seem too concerned about me coming near. Then two hawks flew out of my neighbor's oak tree. I've been hearing baby bird cries nearby, so I wonder if they have a nest in there.
Linda, it's funny how fast the birds find the ponds. I think it's a good decision to miss the funeral. Hope Bob is doing okay.

Kathy, that's an impressive info site FL has set up. Interesting that the none of the Broward cases seem to be travel-related. BTW, I came very close to relocating to Ft.L after I got out of college in the mid-70s. Place sure has changed since then, when it was kind of a sleepy little suburb of Miami. No more.... Makes sense not to use too much alcohol. That will be especially important with my using 91%, vs. 70%, and I will need to up the aloe a little. I also plan to add some Vitamin E oil, which will help that as well. I didn't realize that corned beef and cabbage wasn't Irish, since it seems to be everywhere around St. Paddy's Day celebrations. Piping the crowd noise into games might help the teams. The ibis certainly seem tame there. You may be right about baby hawks in the neighborhood. That could be exciting.
I just saw that NCAA will have only essential folks in the stands at all the tournament games, Chele. So it just won't be Dayton and Cleveland losing revenue. I guess the good news for you is that Iggy won't be taking a chance at exposure for a job that shows him no love. Lots of disappointed fans but probably for the best. Going to be weird to watch without anyone in the stands. Not having to take allergy meds today is a good thing. Stocking up on personal items was a good plan. I seem to stay stocked on those unless Dale forgets to tell me he's running low on something, which happens sometimes.
Linda, I wonder how many baseball games will be called on account of rain if there is already ponding on roads. Will Bob be able to resume dog walking duties in 4 weeks, or will it take longer? His recovery is a good reason to stick close to home, which actually limits exposure for both of you. Sounds like the virus is now in your area. I'm sure DBIL understands your not showing up at the funeral home. No sense in taking unnecessary chances. You may not know that many people other than him anyway.
I heard a public health official comment today that we are about 2 weeks from where Italy currently is. I wonder what the president's big news conference tonight will be. Maybe he tested positive and now believes that it's not a hoax to ruin his re-election bid. He tends to play victim so well anyway. It's not like he would be the first person in a world government to be stricken. If he is positive, I'll bet that will shake things loose quickly. I can hope that, even if he's not, he has had an epiphany and will finally turn things over to the scientists.

Been looking at disinfectants. Peroxide here is only 3% for cuts. It takes 5% to kill virus. It also degrades over time in the bottle. Alcohol is typically 7O% and not as good as bleach because whatever wipe or spray you use needs to be wet ten minutes to work.

Linda, Walgreens had 91% alcohol on BOGO50% yesterday and the closer you get to 100%, the better. Thanks for the link.

Supermarkets across the UK have begun limiting the amount of hand sanitiser each person can purchase after panic buying brought national shortages.
The unanimous advice from health agencies, doctors, and governments is that washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water is far more effective than using hand sanitiser. Alcohol and antibacterial gels, sprays, and wipes should only be used if hand washing facilities are not accessible.
The confusion around hand sanitisers is that there are certain viruses and diseases that cannot be eradicated by using alcohol gels, but can be by proper hand washing.
BUT if you use sanitizer, you need to do it 30 seconds! They do not even use it in hospitals with problems
