This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone.
I know you're probably expecting me to say we have rain this morning, right. Well today is actually a little bit different, it's rain & fog.
I woke up this morning to find the tail of a stitch has worked its was out of an incision site. I wasn't expecting that. I pulled the other two out with tweezers a couple of days ago, and wasn't really expecting any others. So that added a bit of excitement to my morning, I suppose. I think I'll put a roast in the crockpot for supper. It just kind of feels like a roast in the crockpot kind of day. I think I'll run to my little local spot in a minute and get some radishes to roast as well. They really so transform when roasted and Mark loves them. I haven't made those in a long time.
Not much else happening around here today. Have a great day everyone. If it weren't for the fog, I might be able to tip toe and see the weekend out there. But it's there, I promise!

Hello everyone.
I wish I could tell you my budget nightmare has ended but it has not. I have worked the last 2 days on budget and I came in this morning to my manager asking me to change my spreadsheet AGAIN. I started messing with it and after a couple of hours of not being able to get it to calculate the way I want it to - I stopped and now I am moving on to other things. I have behind on all my other work trying to get that perfect. I am so over it.
I am slowly working through my work that is behind now. Unfortunately it all sort of ties into budget but I am not looking at or creating spreadsheets.
Lora - I grabbed a corned beef from the store the other day. I have NEVER cooked one. How do you usually cook yours? I think that will be dinner one night next week for us. I took some ribeyes out of the freezer to cook for tonight.
Janet I am so sorry for all the work frustrations you are having right now.
I know I am missing a lot of you and I am sorry. I am reading the posts every day my brain is just fried by budget stuff.
Waving to everyone! Have a great Thursday - I am only working 1/2 day tomorrow and then off to the beach with my DH for the weekend. I work 3 days next week and then I have a nice long weekend with my Sister.

Jana - You can do the corned beef in the IP or the Crockpot. I general add either water or low sodium chicken broth. Just because the corned beef is already on the salty side due to the brining. So plop in either the IP or the Crockpot, sprinkle on the little pickling seasoning packet that comes in the packaging, add liquid around it to partially cover and cook until tender. I'd just use the time suggested for a chuck roast of similar weight. When it's Fork tender at the center, I remove the meat and put it on a platter and cover tightly with foil to keep it from drying out. Then I add chopped cabbage and a bit of onion powder and black pepper and cook in the broth until desired tenderness. Slice meat and serve it up.
Sorry for the continued spreadsheet frustration. I know that must be just beyond miserable to deal with. Also...Ribeyes sound DELICIOUS! I can't wait for Mark to get back to the point where anything goes. Haha. He "CAN" eat that kind of stuff now, but he's having to take such small bites and chew so slowly and carefully on just one side to not disturb the stitches on the other side that it's just easier for him to do meat that is more of a shredded or ground texture. So...we wait. Haha

Good afternoon. I am headed out shortly to get my hair colored and trimmed. It needs it - I look like a wild woman. Another coronavirus day at work. The medical provider we're merging with had their first case and ended up having to quarantine 9 staff in their urgent care center. You can't order Purell or any other hand sanitizer - it's all back ordered until May. Supermarket shelves are ransacked and people are fairly hysterical. You still can't get tested unless you're symptomatic, and even then it's not clear who pays for it. The chaos continues and has gotten very close to home. My opera cancelled tomorrow and Broadway has gone dark until April 12th. And then of course there are all the sports and cultural cancellations and so so much fear. I can't really describe to all of you what it's like in NY right now. And still no leadership from the federal government. If I hadn't despaired already, I'd despair now. We've come up with a scenario for having people out of work for extended periods, not attending meetings, no home visits, trying to figure out how to get food to people if they're quarantined and can't come in to pick it up. It's all really intense, as you can gather from my recent posts. Trying to keep people calm at work, and myself as well. A hair appointment should help . Weather here is gray, appropriately, and we're due for rain tonight and tomorrow. RobinMD, I'm getting my two crowns tomorrow and I know you'll be thinking of me... Jana, sorry for the ongoing budget woes. Lora, I wish I could come over for dinner. A roast sounds perfect. Have a good evening, all.

Hi Everyone, Today was frustrating as usual but because the boy was hitting/kicking at both me and the temp I told our family worker when she walked in and she called his uncle and he came earlier and picked him up. Once I knew he was out of the building and had left I took the kids who were left outside for a bit. Our scout event was cancelled tonight and all council events until March 31st for now. I have to see if the school event at a public broadcasting center will be cancelled. That one I dont really mind if it would be cancelled as I really didn't want to attend so much anyway. Jana, sorry that you are having difficulty with the budget. I have an eye doctor appointment on Saturday but really no other plans except my usual things going food shopping and gym. Have a good night!

Hello RO's, Andi, I totally understand what you are dealing with, with COVID-19... in the family practice office that I work in, everything has escalated dramatically in the past 2 days. Everyone has it on their mind. I have NO idea what my 12 hour shift on the ambulance will be like on Saturday! I really feel for people who are being forced to be off work, and are financially hurt. Maryland has cancelled public schools for a an extended spring break, sort of, and one patient called today, crying, because she is a cafeteria employee in the school system. If she doesn't work, she doesn't get paid... I sure am sorry that those fun things you enjoy are on hold for now. Hopefully, it won't be for too long. Lora, your weather just HAS to change soon! The corned beef always sounds so good. I know what you mean, about a roast-in-the-crockpot kind on day! And things like that just get better as leftovers.. Jana, I HATE number crunching! My brain would be fried, too.. I am so glad you have a nice beach trip to look forward to! Susie, I am waving to you! I know you must be having one of your busy days I don't remember if you had something planned, but I hope you get some time to relax and read, too.. Janet, I hope your day wasn't too bad. I could never do what you do! I just hope you are going to get help. Well, not much to talk about. Like I said before, people are consumed with the corona virus, and I am tired of it already. I feel wiped out after dealing with it. And at this time of year, pollen is high and allergies are kicking in, and spring colds are going around, so everyone thinks they are dying, and you have to take them seriously and also reassure them. I can't get out of there fast enough at the end of the day! HA! I will be back tomorrow. I hope everyone has a really good Friday...take care, everyone, RobinMD

Janet, I was posting while you were.... I am glad you were able to get the little darling safely home, and then give the other kids a chance to go out. I know the boy needs what your facility has to offer, but it sure is hard for everyone. I hope you have a good day tomorrow...

We are waiting for his services to begin. He finally has an I.E.P. Most of it is focused on his behavior. I haven't yet seen a copy of it. He has no empathy or care for anyone but himself and a total lack of respect for anyone. Our school is not a special needs school exclusively. We have a mix of programs in one school but basically the program is the same but just funded by different sources. The school district is a partner and provides the early intervention services to the children in the program.
