Beware the Ides of March!!
Linda, I know you told Bob not to do that again. I'm glad you were able to get in at Costco for the frame adjustment and I hope you didn't get exposed to anything while you were there. Has the story made it there about the Chattanooga guy who bought up 18,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and other supplies from mainly dollar stores and was selling them on Amazon for up to $70 before Amazon shut him down for price gouging? They interviewed him on the news and he is thinking of donating what he wasn't able to sell but isn't sorry about buying it up. Jerk!
I saw about Publix shortening their hours, Kathy. Dale saw that even the 24 hour Walmarts will be doing the same. Did you vote early so you won't have to go out in that potential mess on Tuesday? What kind of weather are you experiencing today? Are you expecting any rain to help ease the dryness of the pond?
Chele, I saw that Kroger is cutting back hours at well. Do you have a grocery list app on your phone? I started using one a few years ago because I also wasn't good at remembering what was on the list (which I frequently forgot) but always had my phone with me. There's a bunch of free ones out there. I haven't noticed full parking lots at banks, but then I haven't been anywhere since Thursday before the national emergency was declared. Is there someone who might be able to help Iggy get connected to the work software in case his building is shut down or his company decides everyone needs to work remotely? Might be good to invite the head of tech support to dinner and put him/her to work. I wish Iggy had some hobbies so he wouldn't get so bored. The starling hasn't been back this morning--yet. Dale is threatening to go Elmer Fudd as well.
Thanks for checking in, Becky. Congrats on your being so far ahead in recovery. Like Chele said, that exercise has paid off for you. You are bound to have some soreness going through the recovery process. 3/25 is only 10 days away, so won't be long. Hopefully you can start PT right after and get back to normal. Poor Kenneth having to deal with those crowds on his own. I know how those phone calls are. There are times Dale will stop at Food City on his way home from the pool and will call me 3 or 4 times when there are less than half a dozen items on the list. I guess I would rather have that than him bringing home the wrong stuff. I heard about HEB scaling back hours. You usually aren't there that late anyway. How is Scooter reacting to the changes at home?
Liz, how were the stores you visited? Were you there early enough that shelves were stocked and you were able to get what you needed? Will you be working from home any or, given the nature of your job, will you be expected to be front and center on a daily basis? How are things going at St. Crazy? And how's Westchester County?
We are experiencing drizzle right now and it's supposed to move through by Noon, which I hope it does because I would love to do a short hike. Cedar, maple, and alder are all at high levels and I'm apparently allergic to something. I have no fever, so it's not Covid-19. Still trying to figure out how WV still has no positive cases because it's all around them. Both the county in Ohio to the west of where I grew up and the county in Pennsylvania to the east have multiple cases. The local joke is that pepperoni rolls, a local staple, are repelling the virus. Anywho, I have a hair cut scheduled for a week from Tuesday and I'm trying to decide whether to cancel. The shop is usually not very busy (sometimes it's just my stylist and me) but, as Dale said, I have no clue who was in there before me and how well they are cleaning between clients. My hair isn't driving me nuts right now, but the next available appointment may not be until after Easter. If I'm going to cancel, I probably need to text her today so she can fill the opening, if possible. On the other hand, if the pandemic is causing the business to suffer, I would like to be supportive. Very torn.
