Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Happy Pi DAY ? I guess if you are isolated at home eating pie. I sat out in the sun for awhile reading yesterday...it was great...guess I will do the same thing today and take a walk around the block. I think there is a lot of TV in my future. Well, I wanted a couple of days where I was not rushing around from one activity to another...didn't really need a couple months of it, but I will try to be positive.
I am enjoying my coffee and took DH some coffee to drink in bed (which I do almost every morning). I think the challenge for me will be to not sit here and eat all day. I just got a call that my RX is available so I think I will walk there, not get too close to anyone, and come back & follow RobinMDs advice and wash my hands, wash my hands, wash my hands.
RobinMD - enjoy your time off... I feel for you right now...thanks for the advice and enjoy the time you get to chill at home.

Hi Everyone, Had my yearly visit with my regular eye doctor this morning. Everything stable. No major changes. It made me sad tho to go there because this where my cousin started his bigger practice here. He had retired though but the other doctors continued it. Will go out in a bit to the bank and the library for a bit. Nothing major really today. Have the sweet angel on my lap enjoying being petted. Haven't finished Little Men but almost finished and then I have another book I can start. I want to clean up clutter too. Susie, hope you dont get bored from too much sitting around which I know you dont much of that. A lot of places such as sports, museums and movies are closed for two weeks as of now.

Hi everyone.
We're back home from our grocery outing for Mark's parents. My dad finally emailed back that they were good, and Mark's Aunt said she was okay as well (all though I don't trust that a bit. She's a busy body and is always putting herself in the middle of everything just so she has something to complain about later..Haha). But we made the offer to all and would have done whatever they all needed.
We made a last minute decision to ditch the Kroger trip in town - everything I was seeing on FB showed that they were blown out on necessities and were also packed with people, so not an ideal situation. Instead we got those things at our little mom & pop spot here in my little town. They were low on some things, but still had a decent selection. We had a cooler with ice packs in the back of the SUV, so perishables got packed in that as we headed to Costco. Costco was INSANE, but we had a list and split up and were in and out in 20 minutes (including check out). So not terrible at all. His parents seemed to really appreciate us doing that for them. We called when we were close and they opened the garage door and we just left the groceries in the garage, with instructions for them to wipe down everything with a sani-wipe as they got it out of the box and put it away, and to do thorough hand washing once everything was put up. It might have been all for nothing, but there is no sense in taking chances at their age. All in all, I think it went as smoothly as it could have. MIL was actually excited when she realized the eggs I got here were brown. Haha. She loves them, but never gets them because they're more expensive. Also they were appreciative because Mark wouldn't let them write us a check. We just told them this one is on us. They're fixed income and are living only on SS at this point (that's a whole other story), but I know this was probably more than they usually spend at one time.
Of course, Costco had NONE of the few things that were on my list other than my favorite Mayo and some Pepcid for Mark. haha! So this trip better have built us a little good Karma. Ha!
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. Staying home and away from the craziness. Honestly, people were focused and mission driven today but I did not see any of the ugly and crazy behavior that I've seen on the news in other places. Everyone was still polite, smiling and making light of bumping shopping carts and such. Maybe that's just the "Southern" coming out in us all. I made sure to be very appreciative to the cashiers and wish them well with their day. I have many very clear memories of what it is like to be on the other side of retail during panic shopping. It's about the least fun you'll every have at work, for sure!

Was in the dollar store this afternoon. No toilet paper there but haven't gone to the bigger market yet. I bought some tissue paper anyway so if they dont I guess I will have to use that but I hope a big market will have some. We shall see tommorow.

Lora, I have been sticking with my mom & pops for now, and one not so much a mom & pop, but not the one everyone flocks to, so although they were out of paper goods, they were OK on most other things, pretty sparse on pasta, but I think I am good with that. I did overpay for coffee and my little mom and pop, but DH makes cold brew and I see the jug is almost out, so really needed that. Seeing as we are not going out for dinner, I think it's fine to overpay for coffee. I am sure I have at least a 2 week supply of everything.
Susie, I suppose your DH is considered at risk, right?
RobinMD, I feel badly for all those like you who are so overworked. I think we are all stressed, but you are overworked to top it off. I started doing dish washing with gloves fairly recently because my hand were so dry, but now I am keeping them off because it is like extra hand washing.
Janet, sounds like you have been out and about more than many have. Our little library has even closed. I am good with my kindle though.
My DDIL is due on April 23rd, and we don't know if she will really make it that long, so even though we are superstitious and don't believe in getting anything in the house until the baby is born, yesterday both me and her mother decided they should order their toiletries, diapers and formula for the baby now. Stores are selling out, just like they have of toilet paper. I was going to go to Trader Joe's this morning, then decided I was being stupid. I have plenty of things in the house to keep us for at least 2 weeks, so if I am out of something from TJ's, I will manage. I can push off Costco or BJ's at least one more week.

They just emailed a note saying that the library will be now closed too. So glad I went today. I still am finishing Little Men and then I have another book to read after that. If I finish that one I have one or two free books that I picked up on the lobby of the library that I never read. I can't read any of the digital ones on my phone. I tried downloading an app called Hoopla but downloading the book I had asked for was barely loading so gave up on that. I like having the physical book in my hands to read I think rather than another device.

Lora - it was so gracious of you to pick up the food for your DIL and to offer to do so for your DF and DA.
My other gym where I take classes has now closed also, so I guess I will get my free weights out and start lifting and exercising at home and trying to get out and walk more.
Janet - I am guessing the library will do so soon, if it has not done so already.I think it would be very comforting to have a little fur-ball to cuddle with right now.
RobinS - Yes, DH is in the high risk category, but he is staying fairly calm. He is just waiting to hear if his neuro-fit training is cancelled too...he was disappointed about the aqua-PT though (saying there is enough chlorine in that pool to kill anything).
My DDs are very worried about us and really want us to stay in 24/7 and I am glad my DS and DDIL did NOT go out of town, but decided to try to make this weekend away at a later date.
Headed to bed...hope you all have a good evening.
