Day 17 – End Overeating
Today we talk about overeating, when you eat more than you planned, or eat past fullness. Beck wants you to practice overeating by putting more food on your plate than you plan to eat. At the meal push the extra aside and only eat what you planned. Counter any thoughts you have about eating the extra food. At the end of the meal throw the extra away or save it for another meal.
How do you handle situations when there is too much food on your plate such as in a restaurant or if someone served you at a dinner party?

I'll try to remember to do this. I know I have done it before. Under controlled circumstances I can do this but away from home if I'm not mentally prepared I'll keep on eating sometimes. Also sometimes I fall into the "Clean Plate" club.

Now that we are home and not going out it is my choice what goes on the plate. When out and about...it can be difficult but sometimes I bring some home or eat it there and skip the next meal

It’s good to be home after a quick vacation to sun. There were a lot of conversations about going home early- one friend did, and while we ate fairly healthily, cocktails and wine prevailed. Now focusing back on Beck. As for overeating, I take half a large portion home if out. But I also can’t have too many snacks around as I’ll overeat them.

I weigh and measure everything at home resulting in portion control. The only times that are a challenge are eating out. Won't be doing that for a while.

The only times that are a challenge are eating out. Won't be doing that for a while. I guess it depends on your state but most of us won't be eating out for a while although curbside take-out and delivery are still okay options for restaurants here.

If a portion is huge I've started asking for a take away container when the meal is served. I normally am able to take home extras from our usual Friday night place, but when we go anywhere else it's difficult to for me to remember...duh.
