Good morning.
This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Feel free to jump in and join us. All are welcome here.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Hello Everyone...I will miss mah jongg today...DH said we are going for a ride in the car or to a drive-thru restaurant or something to get out of the house. I can go for a walk, but he is having a tough time. However, I am thankful that we are well, can Facetime family, have food to eat, etc. It is so funny how I wanted a day or two to chill and BOY do I have it now - ha! I am trying to exercise in the morning like I usually do...if nothing else, to release those endorphins.
RobinMD - so thankful for those like you who are on the front lines...stay well.

Good morning everyone.
I guess I missed posting yesterday. It was foggy and drippy early on, but by mid-afternoon the sun popped out and it turned out to be lovely. I spent a good portion of the afternoon on the patio just enjoying the sun and listening to the birds chirp. It was very relaxing. I popped the corned beef into the crockpot when I got up yesterday and we had that with cabbage for supper last night. It was so wonderful. It's such a great comfort food for us.
Today is grey and cloudy again. Not sure what the weather is supposed to do later. I haven't looked yet.
As we all know, times of crisis brings out the best and worst in people. I saw yesterday that the Metro Atlanta YMCA organization is closing all of it's facilities to normal use, and are transitioning many of them to provide child care, exclusively for the children of Nurses, Doctors, Med Techs, other medical related staff types and first responders. That way they can continue to provide their much needed services to the community, without having to worry about if their kiddos have a safe place and are taken care of. Pretty cool.
I haven't read back yet. So I don't have any personals right now. I'll check back later though. Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Hi Everyone, I took my taxes to the tax place yesterday. On my way home I decided to stop at the grocery store. They didn't have toilet but did seem to have restocked some of the bread. I wanted to see if they had matzah as my friend was telling me most of it was gone. They had three left so I bought but not even sure what will be with Passover this year. We were invited to my sister's friend's but she isn't sure if she will be doing it. She lives in an area where they have restrictions for two weeks too so unless they stop it may even be extended possibly. I am going over to my sister's soon to work on my lesson plans. I have one already done but am going to have to change dates on it. I have some others that I can just modify. Lora, glad you enjoyed the corned beef and cabbage. Later I will do some reading. I need to get up early one day and get my lab work done but can do it Friday morning. They are saying tommorow morning it will be pouring heavy so won't plan to go then. Other than that nothing really. Thd cat is on my lap for a change. Lol. Have a great day!

Hi everyone. Day 2 WFH - I ended up sleeping in this morning and almost missed a conference call with my team. Geez. Working from home from time to time is ok - but this is going to go on indefinitely right now. Maybe I will get used to it - IDK. Work is a bit crazy - they are having us put together all these crazy lists, supplies, emergency contact #s etc. I told my manager I can't get any of my normal work done because of all the extra things they want.
DH and I are going to look at 2 houses today. One is HUGE. Neither are ideal, we can tell from the pictures. We are going with an open mind.
Other than WFH and driving by the 2 houses - not much going on with me. Waving to all.

Good afternoon. First day WFH for me. I'm depressed, I can't lie about it. I dropped by the supermarket last night to pick up a couple of things and the shelves were again stripped - no meat, chicken, dairy, eggs. And I didn't even bother with the toilet paper/paper towel aisle because what's the point. My NYC DGKs both have Coxsackie and my DS is going out of his mind trying to work from home and help care for two sick toddlers. DGS's nursery school did a video get-together for all the kids this morning so DS got him dressed, took him for a walk around the block pretending he was taking him to school, and then they did the video chat.So cute. DD seems to be doing fine although just learned that a colleague likely has Covid-19 but since it takes 3-5 days to get test results back, she doesn't know what her risk is yet. Can I rant one more time about the poor performance on the part of the federal government??? OMG. I don't believe a thing our president says - it's been nonstop lies from the beginning of this. And I don't know how to protect myself, my family, my staff and I'm so fearful for all.
On that upbeat note it's a nice day out. I hope to get out and walk with DN this afternoon. I spend so much time with her I'm not going to worry about the 6 foot rule. I think the sun and the exercise will do me good.
Stay healthy everyone. I probably won't be back here again today, just overwhelmed.

It is pretty coudy, but the temp was great for walking with a sweater. I put my weighted kickboxing gloves on and took a walk. When I was almost ready, the doorbell rang and my 5 yr old DGD had set a piece of cake and 2 slices of homemade bread at the door. She ran back to the van and I talked to my DD, and 3DGDs from the porch. There was a note on the items "NOT GF," so DH will enjoy it. We have actually been pretty good with our eating. ODGD (13) has been cooking and baking since they have been pretty-much isolated. I am making Pumpkin Turkey Chili today.
Jana - hope one of the houses is perfect for you.
Janet - glad you got the taxes delivered and got to the grocery store. How is your sister that is sick doing?
Lora - yippee for getting to read on the patio. I read for awhile on the front porch yesterday and it was awesome. Wonderful thing that the YMCA is doing....you are right about it bringing out the best and worst in people...let's hope we see mostly the best!

Hi again, I got over to my sister that lives near me to work on my lesson plans. I sent two over to her although I realized in looking at it I didn't change the dates for this week. I thought I had so the next time I go over to my sister I will fix it. No big deal. I really don't even think that she even bothers to read it. I went over to Aldi's and there weren't even any eggs. I didn't bother to ask about toilet paper. I stopped at the dollar store afterwards. They had one box of eggs which I could have took but one of the eggs was cracked so didn't take. I just bought a few things but nothing perishable. My other sister says she still feels crappy. I hope she doesn't have the virus. Her doctor felt it was the flu though and not the virus from her symptoms. I hope so. I have a ?. I told you that my cousin died . I want to send a card to her and her family but not sure how I should address it. Do I use just her name and his too or just her name?

Janet, I would just address it to her, or write "The Smith Family". I think people appreciate anyone who acknowledges it. I did not know he died. I guess that was posted one of the days I didn't read.
Lora, I made corned beef and cabbage on Sunday. I prefer to make it stove top, so I can soak twice, pour out and refresh with clean water, then cook. It takes some of the salt out. DH had been out and said he didn't see Irish Soda Bread. I saw one today when I went to pick up lunch for us, and bought it.
Susie, I can imagine how your DH is feeling, not getting out of the house, worse than many of us do because he probably feels more restricted to begin with.
Andi, I can't believe that the kids got coxsackie, on top of everything else going on. I am not sure what we are going to do about the governor's new regulation. DS is working from home anyway, and I have to discuss with DH if he thinks we should ask the other lawyer we have to do the same. Her DH is on his way back from South Africa right now. I realized maybe we have to consider whether he was exposed to something on the flight, and then will pass it to her. He goes there on business. If we count the people in our building, we are at way less than 50% capacity, and we sit nowhere near each other. He did tell her that he got a call from the consulate there, they are testing all Americans, but he said that he was leaving, so no need to bother.
Jana, working from home has its pluses and minuses. Sorry your boss is having you do more, but some of these things are what has become necessary.
Things have gotten rather boring. I reinstated my Blue Apron account, so at least 3 days a week I won't have to think up what to make for dinner. It won't start until March 30th, so I bought ingredients today for 2 of their recipes for next week. I won't have exactly the right thing, and will have too much of certain things I bought, but it will all work out fine.

DH and I did get into the van and drive to Chik-Fil-A....it is only open for drive-thru and the employees all had gloves on, even those just taking payment. I still got home and wiped down the packages with lysol wipes. My DSon called today to check on us..wanted to make sure we had tp, etc.
Janet - hope your DS is OK. I need to get some eggs too, but I still have a few.
RobinS - having the Blue Apron meals delivered is probably a good idea. My Pumpkin Turkey Chili turned out fine. DH has to have really low salt, but when I put salt in my bowl it is really good.
I am going to Facetime my DGS (6) now to say HI.
