Good Morning! Will BBL but I wanted to post this link to a YouTube video just released by a fellow herbalist. I have taken numerous classes through her and she is excellent and well-grounded in science and research. It's 40 minutes long but well worth the time investment: Jackie Dobrinska Video

Thanks for the start and the link, Karen, I will check it out later.
DN in Jordan has returned home and is in self isolation. They believe his sniffles are allergies but are not taking any chances. DN in Japan is fine. They seem to have control of the virus there. DB who is going to be 64 on March 24 is working from home. Baby Andy had to go to hospital for a day because of jaundice but is doing well. Other than that all is well here. I hope everyone and their families are doing well.

Karen, thanks for the start and the link. I'll give it a listen.
Chele, hope it's just the sniffles for DN and glad all is well. My cousins and aunt left very early this morning for Philly. Hopefully, now that everyone is so aware of the virus and taking more precautions, they will be okay. It would've been a two day drive with hotels and eating out, so they decided the direct flight was the best way to go. Tough choice. I wouldn't want to stay in a hotel or fly right now.
Everyone else is doing fine, but I think DM will get cabin fever. Thanks for the recs on the Cornell bird site for the sounds. I think I've been on that site before and it's a good one. I could rule out warblers and a few others after listening to some of the calls. One of them I've been hearing might be a wren, possibly a Carolina wren. I think I've seen a couple of them flitting around too. I heard a mockingbird chirping away this morning. They're fun to listen to since they cycle through a whole bunch of calls. You can tell it's not the real thing since they don't stay on one call for very long.
I'm finishing up DM's and my taxes and hopefully will file them today. Hope everyone has a good day.

Good luck with the taxes, Kathy. The birds have been active today. I am glad the Cornell site is helping you identify the bird calls. We were going to go to the trails this weekend and birdwatch but we have gotten so much rain this week we don’t want to sink in the mud. DN was traveling for 55 hours to get back to Portland and said there were lots of small children on his flights. I hope your aunt and cousins have no ill effects from their flight.

Chele, I hope your DN#2 is just allergic to something in Jordan. My niece commented how inconvenient it is that this virus hit at the beginning of allergy season. That's a long time to be on planes and in airports. Did you hear the State Department's warning that anyone abroad needs to come back now or risk not being able to get back "indefinitely"? Do you think DN#1 will stay in Japan under that warning, even though they are doing much better than we are at managing this virus? I'm glad they are calling the baby Andy, but sorry about the jaundice. That's pretty common, however. Good that DB is working from home. Does DSIL still have to go to work? Trails probably won't be crowded this weekend but the mud could definitely be an issue. If you decide to go anyway, I would take a walking stick for each of you.
Hope the extended family gets back safely, Kathy. I guess they won't know they are totally out of the woods for a couple of weeks. The direct flight was probably the best option. I heard something this morning about how few people are on planes right now, so they may have been able to spread out quite a bit. Hope the taxes got done and you both get hefty refunds. You may be right about DM's impending cabin fever. Publix was busier than I have ever seen it, but the cashier said I got there at a good time. No frozen veggies, no paper products other than napkins, and no cleaning supplies. I managed to get the last of the strawberries and blackberries, a couple loaves of Italian 5-grain bread, a couple boxes of Amy's vegan mac & cheeze (my favorite!), 6 bottles of kombucha which I didn't need but decided to stock up, and a box of Quorn burgers for Dale. Good thing I didn't need much more.
Other than the supermarket areas and downtown Sevierville, traffic was pretty light. I need to remember not to do the hilly hike on Wednesday again because it really affected my Osteo performance. I started my new herbal regimen because I was able to find cordyceps capsules and had rhodiola in another product I already have on hand. I had to go to Kroger (which I hate) because Publix didn't any have fresh ginger. I will be upping my herbal teas and will do fresh ginger tea starting tomorrow. When I got home, I made some nettle, mullein, and lemon balm tea and have extra for tomorrow. I forgot until Jackie mentioned it in the video how many anti-viral herbs there are and how few anti-viral drugs there are (and what does exist is very expensive). I also placed a CSA order for pick up next Wednesday, so I'll need to go out twice next week. But we'll have fresh broccoli, Swiss chard, and a special broccolini called red fire that I'm anxious to try. They are also going to see if they have some Hakurei turnips available. They are awesome with a smear (schmear, Chele???) of hummus. You eat them raw. Good fiber source.
Waving to Liz, Becky, and Linda. Hope you're all having a good day. Might check in later.

.Cleaning lady came today.. we checked that nobody was coughing or sick among her family and friends ,and today she (her idea) sprayed all her stuff with disinfectant out in the driveway, washed hands as soon as she came in. We shall see in two weeks. We would also pay her.
Guy came to do the maintenance in AC and change the electrostat filters for us. We cannot do that right now and it us overdue. Had him go straight to the sink and paper towels. I probably was too close talking to him...mostly he was in the attic and outside. chlorox wipes in door knobs and thermostats. still five cases in our county...which includes PHx. Decided to get it over with.
Going to get curbside takeout tonight. I have been doing three meals a day since Feb 20. charged it when ordering and can pick it up off a table in the lobby in 20 minutes...guess I will use kleenex to open the door. Will reheat it at home.

So I gave credit info on the phone. signed the slip on a table and picked up my bag of food. the doors were auto open. Transferred it to our dishes, threw out containers and washed my hands. Will heat it later.
