Linda, thanks for the info on 4-leggers and Covid-19. I'm sure you've seen the "People stay home; dogs overjoyed" memes on FB. I hope you have enough to keep you busy without having to go out into the world.
Will you know soon if you get additional in-home treatments, Becky? That would be great. I am also most willing to stay home right now. I have an appointment for car service 2 weeks from yesterday and that may be my first trip out.
Kathy, have you watched Outlander yet? I figured Stephen Bonnet would be back soon. Wylie is such a sleaze. Good that the locust didn't hit Wilmington. I had a feeling Murtagh would show up, but sad that he was too late.
How are things going there, Chele? Have you watched 9-1-1 yet? Have you started growing your seeds? I planted 14 herbs in the Aerogardens and so far only 2 basils are poking up their little heads. Not sure what's taking the others so long.
Liz, sending good thoughts your way.
We have been getting up closer to 7, and the extra sleep has been nice. It's going to be difficult to get into a regular routine some day. I hope the president doesn't try to restart the economy prematurely and a lot of people needlessly get sick or die. Sacrificing millions of registered voters is no way to win an election. I'm afraid we'll be on our own to protect ourselves from this virus. Everybody stay safe.

turns out President is losing a lot of money in six of his best resort/golf properties and hotels with restaurants where states or cities have closed things..this talk of opening things for the economy? Hah. He wants to abuse power by overriding governors! The thing will go on for over a year!
I need to start some cucumber seeds.
Around here senior hours are in e a week or twice depending on store...5-6 in half of them! 6-7 in rest.Good because the store is restocked at night. But Az has more than average retired people, so a lot show up together, and I have found late morning before lunch hours to be a slow time.Yesterday Safeway was almost deserted. Glad I can avoid store for at least a week, maybe more.
Dsil left Honolulu yesterday on almost empty plane, to San Fran deserted airport, to another almost empty plane, landing in really empty Phx around midnight. They will drop off some famous Hawaiin cookies individually wrapped by store a while ago in metal container...leave it on the front doorstep. We can wave at them through the window....sad, but needed. Then they take care if a bit of dbil's estate business for his sister and leave early tomorrow for albany through Chicago. The planes and airports are disinfected and empty, so we hope they will be ok, but what a lot of exposure! Hope that flight tomorrow is not cancelled.
Spring has sprung! Sun has shifted to bedroom's NE window. Time to find the blackout liner. Micki started dragging itchy tummy in the rug and got his Apoquel this morning.
No plans here. I should deadhead geraniums and petunias and MiracleGro the pots. Fighting lethargy. Getting hard to clean up inside...like what does it matter? But one needs a routine to cling to.
Saw that Since NY has over 21,000 cases, mostly in the city area, people have been fleeing to winter residences in Florida. Finally authorities there are quarantining them straight off the plane. wow.

Karen, thanks for the start. I watched Outlander yesterday and thought it was a pretty good episode. Sad story for Jocasta and Murtagh, but I'm glad they resolved their story. Since he wasn't in the books at this point, I guess they decided to get back to the original story for Jocasta. When the locusts left I was wondering where they wound up! My local area is mainly centered on the university and workers in tech companies, so it's not a haven for NY snowbirds and there are very few condos or vacation homes around. I think most of them are probably heading to their condos on the beaches and other vacation areas that would have plenty of places to rent right now. I don't think the screening that our governor talked about is going to do much good and it's too late since so many of them have already come. We'll see if it gets reflected in our numbers. They have been tracking FL residents vs. non-residents. We're sticking with having the groceries delivered for now.
Linda, hope all goes well for your dsil and dbil. That is a lot of exposure, but at least the planes are fairly empty, with the exception of flights from NY to FL. Sorry you can't actually visit with them, but it's the right thing to do right now. I fear that the governors in our red states may go along with what Trump wants and reopen things too early.

Good afternoon chicks and hello from the other side. Just wanted to try a quick post to let you know I've been thinking of you all. We're at 14,904 confirmed cases in the city and 125 deaths. The numbers are rising exponentially every day and we're fighting to get adequate PPE for the staff at all of our campuses. Karen - I guess the putz is stuck a bit between a rock and hard place. He needs to keep the shelter in place going to protect people but the economy will definitely tank into a depression if it goes on too long. They're setting up field hospitals in some of the large venues to take med/surg patients so that the hospitals can increase their ICU levels by 50%. Nice to hear you are sleeping in a bit more regularly now. I haven't been sleeping all that well but my brain isn't turning off so easily. Chele - how are you doing being cooped up with DH working from home? Are you feeling alright? Your numbers have also been going up pretty regularly. Linda - hope all goes well with DBIL and DSIL with the travel. You couldn't pay me enough to get on a plane right now; although the subway hasn't been a joy! Trains have been very light so social distancing isn't an issue. The bus was going to be too crowded today so I walked from the subway. Good luck with the gardening. I just haven't stopped each day so having a routine seems like a dream. Becky - how's the knee doing with the bruising and swelling? Are you getting around pretty well with your walker? Great job on losing the weight post surgery bloat. Kathy - heard this morning that FLA will mandate anyone from NY flying in to a 14 day quarantine. That should make things interesting. We take each day as it comes and sometimes it's each hour. I worry for my DN as she is on the frontline as a critical care nurse in Jersey. We have been texting and sharing our weird experiences. I hope you, mom and the family are all doing well. Need to go ladies, the emails are flying in once again. Please be safe and take good care! Ciao for now from the epicenter!!

Linda, I saw about the NY to FL folks being quarantined. Probably won't be soon enough but may send a message. When will you start your cukes? Did you get your deadheading done? Staying out of the stores is a good plan. Poor Micki. Did you find the blackout shade? I heard a couple of seniors tried what they thought was one of the meds Trump was touting on a press conference and he's dead and she's in intensive care. He needs to leave the medical stuff to the people with degreess in it. So, DSIL and hubby are stuck in AZ? There is talk of temporarily closing the airlines, so I hope they can get a flight before that happens.
So Jocasta married Duncan Innes in the books, Kathy? Forbes is definitely a snake. I keep remembering him as being so sweet in Lord of the Rings. It's good that most of the NY'ers are way south of you. Grocery delvery is a great plan under the circumstances. We had rain yet again today and more over night. I would love to see the sun some day.
Liz, best of luck to your DN on the frontlines. It's good that the 2 of you have each other at this crazy time. I heard how quickly the numbers are increasing there and it's really scary. I'm sure it's even worse in person. Our numbers are going up too, but not so quickly. We only hear the about the number of positive cases and don't hear how many are hospitalized, so we aren't sure exactly where we stand. Amazing that the bus was so crowded. How many extra steps did that walk from the subway net you. Definitely go hour by hour and know we are with you in spirit.
That lieutenant governor of yours is a piece of work, Becky, saying that seniors would be happy to sacrifice their lives for the economy? Nothing like trying to kill off voters. He's 70 years old, so I guess he's willing to give his life for the cause. I think we're going to continue to self isolate for a while because if things return to normal by Easter, which is what is being mentioned, we're going to get a second wave that could be worse than the first. I don't think the healthcare system could take that. Hopefully the medical experts will prevail. How's the knee/ankle/foot doing today? What's your status with PT?

Thanks for the start Karen. The case manager came out today and she is trying to get me 4 more weeks. She didn't sign off on me but it can be done at any time. She said they even closed the PT side of the ortho's practice so the Elgin clinic may not be open either.I get the staples out tomorrow so if you hear any screaming over there it's just me.I will be glad to get this bandage off but she said I would probably have to wear the TED hose 2 more weeks.I hate them because they do tend to bruise me in a certain part of my leg but since my foot is still swollen as is the knee although it's not as swollen as it was I will probably be stuck with them.Travis,Williamson and Harris Counties go under a shelter in place at midnight but Abbott is just so stubborn he won't do it statewide.
Linda I'm glad the planes have been fairly empty.
Liz It's good to hear from you.I know you are crazy busy.I get along better with the walker because I'm walking slower. The case worker had me walk to the PU with the walker and back with the cane and I feel more comfortable with the walker. She was fine either way but she would rather me just use the cane for a little exercise in the house.Tomorrow is my last visit with the surgeon and I'm not looking forward to the staples coming out but will be happy to get the bandage off.The bruises are still on both side of the upper leg.I should have started bruising right after surgery but for some reason it waited a week to show up.Take care in the jungle up there.
Linda I hope they can get a flight out soon.

Did the deadheading and a lot of laundry, but crazy here today.
dsil has a flight home again..but through Fort Lauderdale. Glad the spring breakers already left!
They got the car picked up and in its way on a carrier truck to Albany. the dropped off the cookies on our doorstep. And chatted through the screen door at about 15 feet away ..feels so bad. You realize you might never see people again in all this.
DH spent five hours trying to get the blood lab and the mobile phlebotomist who works with them in synche and had to pay for the test in advance. required post surgery before he sees surgeon again. He does not want to go into a blood lab now.
Hope everyone is ok out there.
Trump wants normal social by Easter...that is going to kill a whole lot of churchgoers.Cannot believe the fool pastor in a Louisiana who bussed 1800 to service Sunday and said he would cure anyone through God? Always heard God gave you a brain so you would not be stupid and could find good solutions. they say the new plan is survival of the fittest?

Good to hear from you, Liz. I am sorry to hear things are so bad in NY. I read that Cuomo is demanding the federal surplus of ventilators. I hope he wins that battle. I didn’t realize DN is a nurse. I hope you both stay safe in the frontlines. We have 564 confirmed cases last I read with 12 in our county. With limited testing who knows how many more there are. I am keeping Iggy “on a Teddy sized leash” as he puts it. So far he is doing well on the self isolating. He video chats with his family so that helps.
Karen, I am waiting for the seeds to arrive. It will be Iggy’s job to plant them. He needs activities. I am with you on continued self isolation.
Kathy, I am happy you aren’t near any touristy centers, since the germ laden New Yorkers are invading.
Becky, good luck on getting the staples out tomorrow and I hope you get continued home care and PT.
Linda, the senior time at our local Meijer is 7-8am on Tuesday and Thursday. I haven’t heard from Kroger. I still need to go to the store but I keep postponing it. My allergies kicked it last night and I woke up with a massive headache, so that my excuse du jour. Poor Micki and his itchy tummy. I hope DSIL is not freaking out about cancelled flight.
Have a good evening, all.
