Thanks for the start, Karen. Whatâs new in the MG world? How is Sweet Potato? Blissfully ignorant and happy her humans are staying home? Is Dale getting out to run? I have watched 911. I am enjoying the new plot lines.
Linda, I hope DSIL and DH have a safe trip home.
Becky, I hope the staple removal is not too painful.
Kathy, our delivery and pickup service at Kroger is delayed. There is a âwaiting lineâ for that as well.
Liz, may the Force protect you from all evil bacteria.
Kroger is open 7-8 am for seniors and those with medical issues. I went this morning and experienced a wait to enter as an employee was cleaning carts. There was no TP and about 5 containers of disinfectant wipes. I grabbed one. There was only about 4 bags of Bobâs Red Mill (expensive) AP flour, a few bags of Dominoâs sugar, no dry milk, hardly any dry beans. Plenty of junk food and soda, ice cream, fresh produce, milk and eggs. I still have frozen veggies and canned veggies, so I didnât even check those aisles. There were no frozen fish sticks or chicken nuggets, patties, etc. I grabbed 2 x 5 lb bags of potatoes JIC. At checkout they have put down markers on the floor so you know how far to stand apart. It is a whole new world out there.

Linda, fingers crossed this flight works out for DSIL. Despite the inconveniences they may be facing, there's no place like home. Not sure I would want to fly through Ft. Lauderdale, however, given that many of the NYers are going into that airport. Hope they stay virus free. Sorry about Bob's difficulties at the lab. I hope the place wasn't too crowded. Are they also doing Covid tests there? How are the Hawaiian cookies? Sorry you had to visit through the door, but it was best for all of you. I agree that trying to normalize by Easter is not going to happen and could lead to a second wave that could be more dangerous than the one we are in now. I will probably cancel my car appointment and Dale is recommending that we not go out again for 3 weeks. He had to take epidemiology classes for his health research masters so he knows more about this stuff than I do. I may need fresh fruits and veggies before then, so we'll see. Schools are closed here until at least April 24th.
How did the staple removal go, Becky? Even if you have to continue wearing the stockings for a while longer, that has to feel better. Any word on your PT continuation? It's going to be tough to continue if the facility isn't open locally. The thing that your lieutenant governor seems to have missed is that younger people are also dying from this virus, a lot of them that are working ages. It's good that the larger TX cities are closed down but it's a shame your governor isn't doing more for the rest of you. Did you do a grocery trip while you were out? How was the traffic, especially in RR, since I think that is in Williamson County?
Chele, sorry you still can't get TP. I tried to order my toilet brush refills on Amazon yesterday and they are out of stock everywhere for the next month. Good that you were able to get wipes. Dale is running at the state park trails right now and stopped at Aldi on the way. He said he got everything on the list, including TP. I guess a lot of people are doing grocery pick up right now, so I'm not surprised about the line. Odd that the baking supply aisle was sparse. Maybe people are actually cooking/baking again. I'm sure the convenience of frozen fish sticks, etc., make them a hot commodity. What will you do with all those potatoes? I'm a bit surprised the junk food is still available, as well as the eggs and milk. Good idea to have the markings on the floor to keep people separated, since things can get pretty crowded at the checkouts. Are you keeping up with your workouts? On 9-1-1, I'm afraid Josh's withholding the details on his attack will lead to some other gay man getting killed and Josh feeling guilty. It's about time Eddie started dating again. Sweet Potato is blissfully oblivious to what's going on in the world. MG world has been a bit quiet since the special edition newsletter came out. Just a couple of emails since Monday. I already have 110+ hours for the year, so I could handle a slow down.
I guess the Outlander locusts headed west, Kathy, to some place without a person in charge who knew events that had not yet occurred. I keep wondering if some of the things they are doing will mess with the future. Have you heard anything about how the governor plans to identify all the NYers who have showed up in FL in the last 3 weeks to make sure they are all quarantining? I think it's a meaningless CYA on his part. They have a real mess in NOLA from Mardi Gras and I hope the same thing doesn't result from Bike Week and Spring Break there, which would affect far more than just FL. How is DM doing with avoiding cabin fever? BTW, the weather guesser just said we have a 3 inch rain surplus for the month. But the rain is finally moving out, after 13 days in a row of rain.
Liz, I know you still have a lot going on there, but at least you have a good governor trying to get things done. It looks like you may be losing your epicentr designation to either FL or NOLA, despite things there not being near peak. How's the commute been? I hope you can find a way to sleep better so you can get recharged. I know Wally isn't helping matters.
I'm starting to see commercials popping up related to our current situation. RAM trucks are offering assistance if you get laid off and can't afford your monthly payment. I also wonder how long it will be before they run out of new episodes of The Price Is Right. I doubt they are taping now. Kind of difficult to get 300 people together in such a small studio with appropriate social distancing, especially since everyone is supposed to be staying indoors there. My new walking shoes came on Monday and I tried them on the treadmill yesterday and they are too small. So I called customer service this morning and ordered a larger pair but went with suede instead of leather. Dale is dropping the too small pair off at UPS. My new shoes should arrive by next week. My feet have changed quite a bit with last year's surgeries. My plan was to stop at Fleet Feet to try on a pair, but now Fleet Feet is closed except for picking up online orders, so no fitting opportunities.

Karen, thanks for the start. That's a beautiful flower in your avatar. Wow, just saw that Prince Charles tested positive for the virus and has mild symptoms. Hope he recovers quickly. You stole our rain! We are almost to a 3" shortage. There was more about time travel in the last Outlander book. I don't think they've made any significant changes to history so far, but I have wondered how it will all end. The new book is supposed to come out this year and then I think there is only one more. That's a pain on the shoes not fitting, but at least you can exchange them.
They had a report last night on the NYers arriving and it wasn't encouraging. They were given a packet of information and are supposed to fill out a paper with contacts. The reporter asked several people what they were supposed to do with it and they didn't know. She asked one guy if he as going to quarantine himself and he said "no" and walked on. Another woman said she was staying with family and it was a big house, so she wasn't worried. Basically, they just all walked off the plane with no problems. They did say that they're moving the NY arrivals to the area where they process customs for international flights, so maybe they will do more screening there. It's too late for the people that are already here.
Chele, I've noticed the Publix deliveries through Instacart are now about 3 days out. Just checked though and it says "within 5 hours", so I rescheduled DM's order! Orange County is going under a stay at home order starting on Thursday night along with several other FL counties. The governor still refuses to do a statewide lockdown. I'm wondering if the deliveries will become swamped, although we'll still be allowed to go to the grocery store. There were no eggs when I put DM's order in yesterday, but I checked this morning and they had tons of them, so I added them. Still no paper products though.
Liz, good to hear from you! I can't even imagine what it's like there right now. I don't think they have any way to enforce the NY quarantine here, so it seems kind of useless. We're all doing well, except for the going stir crazy part. I know we're fortunate to be able to ride this out at home, so not complaining. I have been a total slug since this started and realized I really need to get some exercise. I saw that Jazzercise on Demand is doing some live workouts on Facebook, so did that today and it was a good workout. Wishing for the best for you and your DN. Take care and stay safe!
Linda, hope your dsil and her dh have a safe trip home.
Becky, hope all went well with the staple removal. I don't think any of us are ready to die for the economy!

Kathy, I am glad you could move up DMâs delivery and add eggs. Stir craziness has set in here as well. At least the sun is out today and we have been in the backyard. The chives are popping out and the day lily leaves are coming in strong. The squirrels and chipmunks are obnoxious and the finches are messy eaters. The Carolina wren came to visit yesterday. Karen, I am definitely keeping to my workouts. It would not be pretty mentally otherwise. Lucky you in getting TP. We have enough for awhile but I am always looking. We now have 704 confirmed cases in Ohio and 10 dead. The head of the Ohio health department estimates that the peak wonât be over until May 1. I like baked potatoes and I use them in my homemade burritos and in frittatas. I also like potato salad. Spectrum is giving us free Showtime and Epix until April 19. I can catch up on Billions. Yay! When I came home from the store I took everything out and wiped it down in the garage and then I changed clothes in the garage. I washed everything right away. I wore my lightest weight winter gloves to the store. After I washed my hands, I washed my face and used saline solution to clean out my nose. I am so afraid of bringing something home to Iggy. He is more blasĂ©.

Chele, I have been meaning to tell you that while I was on the treadmill yesterday, I saw a squirrel trying to scale on of the 12 ft. i-beams holding up the deck to get to the feeder he knew was on the next story. He only made it about 2 1/2 feet and gave up. I hoped he would. I hadn't heard that they moved the NY passengers to international. That make sense since they should all be subject to the same restrictions. Our new shopping routines are exhausting, aren't they? I had to wipe everything down that Dale brought home and the canvas bags are sitting outside. He had a thought-provoking trip and is already making plans for the next trip, such as putting his credit card some place more accessible than his wallet and wiping down the card after he swipes it. He also read that someone recommended taking your own cart, so I think we will start taking the little rolling office supply carts we have in the garage. Of course, I don't think everything he bought today would have even come close to fitting in one. Being plastic, they will be much easier to wipe down than the canvas bags. I guess Iggy can afford to be blase because he knows you won't be. Enjoy your free Showtime and Epix. We have Showtime, but have never watched Billions. Verizon is supposed to be giving us an extra 15Gb of data but it hasn't shown up on our account yet. Of course, with the unlimited, we probably won't use it. Congrats on keeping up with the workouts They are predicting our peak to be about a week before yours, so about a month from now. Enjoy your "taters". I may make some German potato salad but not sure what else. So, it's the finches making a mess all over my deck? I wondered....
We have some really pretty flowers coming up right now, Kathy. Congrats on changing DM's Instacart order and adding eggs. Sorry about no paper products. Dale looked for wipes at Aldi but no luck. The procedures for the NY'ers sounds like a real cluster****. And, like you said, of no use. I'm sorry we stole your rain. But our lake is filling up and we should be able to kayak soon. I'm glad you found the Jazzercise on Demand. Hopefully that will be something you can do on a regular basis to get you back on track with workouts. It's so easy to be a slug.
Linda, did DSIL and husband make it home safely and in a virtually empty plane? I can't believe many people are flying INTO NY these days.
I found a new station through Roku that has 24/7 Baywatch episodes back to Season 1 that was rarely broadcast. So I got to see a few episodes today that I haven't seen in over 30 years. Most of you know that Baywatch was one of my favorite shows of all time. I also made a "yacht rock" playlist that will go on my Walkman and a flash drive for the car. Looking forward to listening to it. Lots of good tunes.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Thanks Chele. It wasn't bad at all.It was just a really long day and I'm really tired.HEB hasn't even had any kind of potatoes since the virus started.I don't know why potatoes are suddenly so rare.HEB is the same with the markers and you have to wait in a single lane to check out and the employee will tell you which checkout to use.Unfortunately a sign of the times.
Karen The staple removal wasn't bad at all.I just felt like a pinch with each one except the one on the knee cap which was stubborn but still wasn't bad.He wanted x-rays and showed me the differences. All I can say is that doctor is one amazing surgeon. The nurse said I might have a slight scar.I told her I'm 65,I have a scar all the way from my chest bone to my belly button and I'm not vain so that one wouldn't bother me.He did want another big bandage over the steri-strips since they were still bleeding and with the TED stockings for 2 more weeks it will still be painful for awhile. He did give me a RX for more pain pills should I need them and an order for home health PT for 6 more weeks 3 x week.I don't know if they would be willing to come that often but they have little business since most of their business comes from knee and hip surgeries and they aren't being done for at least 2 weeks.I was the only person at the surgeon's office. The waiting room is usually packed but they also had to close down their PT office for now. They have someone standing outside to take your temp before you even enter the building. It can't be over 99.4 and I guess it was the heat because mine was 99.6 and when home health was here yesterday it only registered 97.6.So she gave me a wipe for my forehead and I came in just under the limit or I would have had to reschedule.
We did go by HEB and they are still only letting in a few people at a time. They didn't have any scooters so the employee at the door found a wheelchair with a basket and Kenneth wheeled me around for groceries and prescriptions. It was very foggy but once we got past construction traffic was very light. Our Lt Governor is a complete idiot.
