Thanks for the start and the link, Karen. Good tips on disinfecting groceries and yes, it is exhausting. I think we have enough for 2 weeks here. Glad to hear that the squirrel did not make it up the i-beam. Yup, it is definitely the piggy little finches making a mess. Linda, did DSIL and her DH make it home okay? Kathy, did DM receive her groceries? How is DS doing at her ? Workout class? Forgot the name of it. Liz, thinking of you and all the others at the frontline and how exhausted you must all be. How is Gary doing at his job? Becky, I'm happy to hear the staple pulling wasn’t too bad and that you get 6 more weeks of in home PT. It is a beautiful spring day but too soggy to do any work in the backyard after all the rain. It would ruin the grass to keep walking on it. Although I did chase the squirrels out of the yard yesterday. I am making a healthier version of beef stroganoff (mine without meat) for Iggy. He has been craving it. I am using flank steak and it has very little fat and dry sautéing the mushrooms, peppers and onions and using lite sour cream. It is an old WW recipe from the early 90s that we have enjoyed for many years. I have it all put together and in the fridge and all I have to do is pop it in the oven. I sauted extra veggies for meals later and now I need to go take a shower. Have a good one.

Karen, I'm glad that rascally squirrel couldn't get to your feeder. Thanks for the video on groceries. I'll definitely use those tips on my next grocery order. My last grocery delivery was about 10 days ago and I didn't do a lot of the things he suggested. I think the one key thing he says in the beginning is to just set the things you don't need aside for a few days and then there's no need to go through all the decontamination. I couldn't leave things in the garage or they would fry, but I've been putting them back in the guest room. He mentioned that you can't trust frozen foods, so I'm also wondering about refrigerated foods. I've seen some people saying that they're avoiding most fresh produce, but I don't know if that's necessary. There is also a link to some FDA info in the comments and that contradicts some of what he says, but it won't hurt to be overly cautious. The Jazzercise workout was live on Facebook and over 11k people joined in. They just posted a schedule and it looks like they'll be doing several a week. I've been getting some steps in the house, but not nearly enough. I subscribed to their on demand workouts a few weeks ago, but the live ones are more fun. The temps are getting up to 95 this weekend, so walking outside just isn't that appealing right now. I have been getting some outside time on the porch. The breeze is still nice for now. We had a parade here around noon. I heard all these horns honking and at least 2 dozen cars went by. Some were all decorated with streamers and pom poms. I'm guessing it was high school kids and maybe a last hurrah before we go on lockdown tonight? Becky, I'm glad the staple removal wasn't too painful. Linda, that's a great deal on getting Greek food with tp! I saw that one of the Greek places here is doing that. I wonder why Greek?
Chele, I think the gyms were shut down a few days ago, so that ended DS's decision on whether to go or not. It's just a small gym and the class is kind of similar to Cross Fit, but it's not affiliated with Cross Fit. It is intense and she had a shoulder injury awhile back from some crazy exercise they were doing. I'll stick with Jazzercise. DM was very happy with her groceries. She said the produce looked good and she had them leave the groceries in the garage so she didn't get close to the delivery person. I'm thinking our Instacart deliveries are still doing well due to the large amount of college kids around that may be out of their other jobs. I probably should do another order soon, but am dreading the whole decontamination process. The beef stroganoff sounds delicious. Haven't had that for a long time, but DM makes a good one. Liz, the news from NY sounds so scary. Thinking of you and hope you and your DN are doing well.

Chele, we could probably last at least a month without having to buy anything but fresh fruits and veggies--oh, and kombucha . I used to make that stroganoff recipe from WW. Sauteing extra veggies will make prep so much easier later on. What kind of pan do you use to dry saute your mushrooms? I usually end up water sauteing because I don't have the right kind of pan. I refuse to by "Teflon" but can't find anything else that doesn't stick without oil or water. Have you been watching The Masked Singer? Rumor has it that The Rhino is actually a baseball pitcher turned musician who used to play for the Giants, Barry Zito. Sorry about your soggy yard. We still have standing water in some places and I had to be very careful getting down to the lake, but we have a beautiful day and it's heading toward the 70s. Maybe things will dry up for you and you can get out tomorrow. Dale had to mow earlier in the week and the weeds are growing again. Good luck with the at-home bloodwork today, Linda. Definitely worth $60 to stay out of the waiting room risks. OMG on DSIL's FL ordeal. Spending all that time in airports isn't healthy and the dehybration could have led to the hypotension. I'm glad they were able to get on the flight and made it home. I hope she can rest up, hydrate, and get into her regular routine, which may be altered if they have a stay at home order in effect. Thanks for the Fauci article. I wish he would do most of the talking and Trump would shut up and quit treating every press conference like a rally. You're right that he just wants to get his properties reopened. And he doesn't want to do anything that might make him look like a socialist. Quite a sales gimick at the Greek restaurant. There is a pizza place in Knoxville doing that. Kathy, like Chele, I was wondering about DM's grocery delivery plus DS's group workouts. I think we are all learning as we go along with this virus. When I went to Publix last week, I did absolutely nothing except wash my hands after I put things away. That definitely changed this week because I didn't even let anything come in from the garage before it was at least wiped down. That's a pretty big Jazzercise class you took. I'm glad you found the live version because I know it has to be a lot more engaging. I did a neighborhood hike this morning and avoided the steep hills, but it was only mid 50s, so pretty comfortable. Enjoy that outdoor time while you can. Wonder who organized the parade. The big thing in Knoxville neighborhoods seems to be scavanger hunts. Today people were putting teddy bears on their porches and neighbors go around the various streets counting the number of bears. They called it a "bear hunt". So you're going on lockdown tonight? The entire state or just your county? There are several counties in TN that are on lockdown and I found out today why the rest of us aren't. Apparently there are only 6 counties that run their own health departments and the rest are run by the state. So the only counties able to enforce a lockdown are the ones that the health department isn't run by the state. So, I guess if the governor doesn't tell them they can, they won't. Pathetic! How's the knee doing today, Becky? Have you heard if you'll get your PT 3 times a week? I saw something on the news about HEB, Albertson's and a number of other places installing plexi-glass screens to protect the cashiers. Are you seeing that in your store yet? Liz, sending you good thoughts. Things there don't seem to be getting any better. Were you the "spokeswoman" who told the news media about using one ventilator for multiple patients? We have almost 1,000 cases of Covid-19 in the state but still not on lockdown, except in a few counties. Most affected groups are still 21 to 40, but the 51-60's are gaining. I guess all us OPs are staying home out of the fray. In addition to my hike this morning, I went out on the water for about 45 minutes this afternoon. Still a lot of small debris and the water temp is "invigorating", so not even going swimming with a wetsuit on. Lots of fishermen out today, practicing social distancing one and two to a boat. Only people with anything larger out there was, of course, the neighbors. I cooked a batch of vegan mac n cheese yesterday, along with black beans and rice, so just adding veggies for lunches and dinners this week and probably into next. I got a HUGE bunch of Swiss chard in the CSA order yesterday, so when we run out of salad in a few days, I'll still have plenty of greens. I heard from GF in Gatlinburg yesterday, and I was a bit concerned about her because she is the definition of "workaholic" and has her own business cleaning rental cabins. She had 3 jobs last week and 1 this week, but she seems to be doing quite well, happy to have a reason to catch up on projects around the house. She seems happier than I've "seen" her in over a year. As crazy as things are, there are bright spots.

Karen, I could probably last a month with what I have too, but I'd get pretty bored with the same meals. I have a feeling I may lose some weight during all this since it's a lot more effort to get food ready to eat. I guess that could be an upside! My yard is crunchy at the moment with no water in sight. The pond has been fairly quiet, but there are some sandhill cranes that visit and a couple of ducks. The stay at home orders are just being done by individual counties. When I leave my neighborhood, I'm actually over the county line into Seminole and they said today they didn't see a need to do an official stay at home decree. We're still allowed to go to the grocery and liquor stores, drugstores, doctors, and a few other things. A lot of businesses are considered essential and can still be out and about.
That sounds high for TN, but it's hard to tell what's going on with the numbers since we really don't have all the data. My county just opened up a drive through test site this week, so it's not surprising that the numbers went up. Southeast FL still has about half of the cases in the state, but they also have a large percent of the population. My question when looking at numbers across states, is what percentage of the population has been tested. If one state is doing more testing, it's natural that their numbers might be higher.
Linda, very glad your dsil made it home okay. Sounds like a very stressful trip and I'm sure they're glad to be home.

Quick hello from the frontlines to my fave gals!
We're at over 140 confirmed cases in my place and +7-800 for the enterprise. The numbers are not stopping; we are still heading up the curve even with all that the gov. is trying to do. We're converting nursing unit to ICUs as quick as we can now. OMG, I have to go once again. You are in my thoughts and prayers everyone!!

Thanks for the start Karen.
Thanks Chele. Once I get the bandage off in a week hopefully it will feel much better. He also gave me more pain meds but I will only take them when necessary and I did have to take one this morning after Kenneth picked them up.We went to Walmart after that because I was looking for my regular tortillas and although I had a scooter it gave out right away.Kenneth went and got another one and it gave out too so I finally walked out of there.I should have taken my cane in I guess but their scooters are usually charged better than that.I'm glad you have a beautiful day. It's partly cloudy here but it's 88 and humid.
Linda I'm glad DSIL is home. How awful for her.I hope she is okay now.
Kathy I was never able to do Jazzercise even when I had 2 good knees. We got up to 90 yesterday and 88 today.Too hot for March for me.I am glad you have been enjoying some porch time.Is all of FL going on lockdown? Our governor won't budge but Austin's mayor and the doctor he goes by is willing to stay on lockdown for 2 months instead of 3 weeks if they need to.Thanks.I'm glad they are out.Now to get past the long bandage and the compression stockings.
Karen The knee is still pretty sore and stiff from yesterday. It seems to be the calf stiffening up.I did order some new compression stockings from Amazon that were a lighter weight and longer and after I took my shower I put them on and they seem to feel better. The case manager called today.I had left her a message yesterday. She had to check with the medical Liason and she just had to do the paper work on her end.She was thrilled of course the doctor recommended a longer time than she asked for because they are hurting for business too.Yes our HEB has the plexi-glass.It's not a very big sheet but the pharmacy is covered with it.Also they have a yellow stripe in front of the registers and have an employee telling you which register to check out in.There is still a line any time you go there because of only letting in a few people at a time and you can only go in one door and exit out the other door. It's different for sure.TX has a little over 1000 cases and still no lockdown. Maybe your governor and mine are in cahoots. We do have a few smart mayors in TX thank goodness. There are still too many people on the hike and bike trails in Austin that aren't doing social distancing.

Unfortunately our gov is a Trumpite. He is doing little. The cities are covering. Businesses are still open except restaurants and bars, entertainment and gyms. he builds prisons , not schools. We kead the country in failing huge numbers of charter schools and low teacher pay and as little meducaid as possible. hospitals had little support and we do not have enough dr. state legislature adjourned for the year! Supposedly school opens second week of April. It will take a week for the tests they finally started to show results.
dsil saw dr..they worry it was not a simple faint but connected to the aneurism at the base of her brain...born with it. Hope they are wrong .mri next week.
I just worked on a puzzle, walked dog,did a load of laundry. Thumb and wrist better but still sore, and not pushing my luck.
dinner is chicken cattiatore ...chicken breast cut in half with sliced onions, peppers and jar sauce to simmer.

Liz, good to hear from you! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers too. The numbers in your place are higher than my county, so that's really alarming.
Becky, I don't think our governor will shut down the state, just like he wouldn't shut down the beaches. Our county mayor decided to do the stay at home order, but the county just to the north of me is not. When my aunt in New Smyrna had her knee replacement surgery, she drafted my mom and their other sister to stay with her. They had some funny stories about trying to get the compression stockings on and off of her. It sounds like you're making good progress though, so glad to hear that.
Linda, we have a lot of the same issues as you on the schools, low teacher pay, and refusing to expand Medicaid. Hope all turns out well for dsil. Dinner sounds good.
