Thanks for the start on National Joe Day. I watched the Masked Singer last night. The Rhino is good and has a nice country style voice a d good stage presence. He even has some moves. I have a Demeyere Stainless steel wok that is not Teflon but is basically non stick because it is steel wrapped around aluminum. No sun today. It even rained last night and we are expecting some today. Glad you got outdoors yesterday. I soaked in some sun and it felt good. Cute about the âbearâ hunts. Our stores donât have the plexi glass yet but I think it is coming. Did you read the story of the woman who coughed on $35k worth of food at a small grocery store in Pennsylvania? They had to throw it all out and she was arrested for making terrorist threats. She yelled, âI have the virus, now you are all going to get sick,â according to the local TV station. Big disgusted sigh.
Kathy, people who don't want to comply with a lockdown will just go to the neighboring county and bring back the germs. Can everyone get tested or only those with a doctorâs note like in Ohio? The live Jazzercise class sounds a lot more fun than a treadmill. Publix is doing a good job. A friend of ours put in a delivery order at Dorothy Lane Market on Monday and she wonât get it until this coming Monday.
Liz, so glad you had a couple of minutes to check in. There is no rest for health care workers right now. Take care and be safe.
Becky, I bet the Walmart staff forgot to charge the scooters what with all the cleaning they have to do overnight. 88° and humid is hot this early in the year. I canât imagine getting the compression socks on. I am glad you are recovering well.
Linda, I hope DSIL has not aggravated the aneurysm somehow. A week seems like an eternity to wait when you donât know what is wrong with you. How was the cacciatore? Congrats on your rose blooming! How was Bobâs blood test?
I am baking some bread this morning and Iggy burned a pot of beans. Apparently, he thought since I was in the kitchen I would watch the pot and make sure there was enough water. Pbbt! I was concentrating on my tasks not his.
Time to go workout and escape the smell of burnt. Have a good one.

Chele, EWWWWW on burned beans! What kind of beans were they? National Joe Day? As in Sloppy or DiMaggio? So Dorothy Lane does delivery? Maybe they only have one person doing it. I thought the bear hunt was a cute idea. Today they are advocating that everyone put their Christmas decorations back up and one of the local TV stations has a part of their webite that you can let people know where you are on a map so they can drive around and see your decorations. One of the local ice cream parlors is showing Looney Tunes cartoons in a drive-in setting with a radio channel audio broadcast. What kind of bread are you baking? I saw about the woman who coughed on everything, saying she has the virus. Sounds like she has mental health problems or is just an a$$hole. Thanks for the Demeyere recommendation. They have a 20% off sale on their website right now, so I ordered an 8" traditional nonstick and will just do things in smaller batches. It was essentially about half price but still a little pricey.
WOW! on the rose, Linda! Hope you'll get a lot more off that bush. I had no idea teacher pay and Medicaid were so bad there. Our governor hasn't expanded Medicaid either, which is a major problem here with all the people living below the poverty line. What have you heard on DSIL? Isn't that an unusual place for an aneurysm? Does that make it inoperable? Will she be able to at least have a telehealth visit with her neurosurgeon? I hope she's feeling better today.
Kathy, it's a shame some people won't abide by a lockdown. I was talking (at an appropriate distance) to our UPS guy today and he lives in Knox County where they have a stay at home order in place and he says there are lots of people still out and about there. Some people never learn and we just all have to take matters into our own hands and stay away. How was live Jazzercise today? Gold's Gym is offering something similar with live broadcast classes. I'll need to check that out. Any special goings-on in the neighborhood today? Are you expecting rain any time soon? The a.m. weather guy mentioned Orlando and how much heat you're getting. It's 80 here right now and we had to close the windows (breeze felt great!) because the AC kicked on for the first time this year.
How are the new compression stockings doing , Becky? Did you go out today? Any word on PT?
Liz, weekend is coming. I hope you won't have to work from home much for the next couple of days.
Dale cleaned windows and screens today and that helped with the air flow while we had them open. I did a little retail therapy, using sales to get a new life vest for the kayak at 20% off and, as I said earlier, a new nonstick skillet at a really good discount. I am exhausted because I had to cook enough turkey for 20 days and pilaf/veggies for 37 days for Sweet Potato. Turkey's not bad because it goes in the IP. The pilaf and veggies are what takes the effort, but I won't have to do that at all until early May. That makes it doable. Time for dinner!

Can't cure stupid. A guy who said it was all a hoax just died of it. The politicians saying old people should sacrifice and die for the economy do not seem to realize they are those old people!
dsil has horrible trigeminal neuroma..the face pain that is like hitting a tooth nerve. They have not operated because that us where the aneurism is....extremely risky. She takes so much gabapentin It could not have been a seizure....but fatigue with stress, lack if water, low Bp, sitting in one position for hours are prime reasons to faint.
been mostly home since 14th except for groceries, pharmacy and gel shots...number two today. The place was empty, just opened until a couple with a four year old came in. Smart would have been kid and spouse stay in car! Worse, the kid was eating fast food. I stood, did not touch anything, used my elbow to get to waiting room, used Purellthere and left! one more shot next a Friday.
I wonder if after a while we will become agoraphobic?
Worked on puzzle, walked dog, made pear/blue cheese/pecan bistro salad sides for supper with leftovers while my hand was feeling better. Reading and doing some of my PT exercises this afternoon.
watched the new Miss Fisher movie on Acorn..lot like Indiana Jones. acorn has free month trial right now if you like Brit, Canadian, Aussie, NZ tv. Murdock mysteries ,which is light, is in season 13

Chele, the two counties here are so interconnected that it's strange that only one is doing the lockdown. I'm not sure how much difference it will make since most things are closed anyway. A lot of people that live in Seminole work in Orange, so they won't be going in to work. For the drive through testing, you have to be 65+ with symptoms or a healthcare worker. For the other sites, I think they require a note from a doctor. I saw another incident where a guy coughed on a cashier. Just unbelievable.
I need to put in another grocery order after this weekend and I keep checking to make sure delivery times aren't going way out. They're still pretty good. It seems like if you monitor it, you can get it fairly quickly. Publix is doing a good job keeping up with demand and they've added the barriers for the cashiers. One drawback with delivery is I doubt I'll ever be able to score TP unless the TP panic buying dies down. It is really quiet around here today. DM said she went out to get her mail and only saw 1 car go by. Oh no on the burnt bean smell! Has it died down yet?
Karen, I hadn't thought of drive-in movies, but maybe they'll make a comeback. I'm not surprised there were still people out and about. We can go out to go to the groceries, doctor, drugstore, car repair, gas stations, and some government services and the people supporting those can go to and from work. I think it will help stop gatherings though and it stopped some of the employers who weren't allowing people to work from home. No rain to speak of in the forecast. They said we had 0.02" in March which will tie the record if we don't get any soon. I missed Jazzercise today due to a loooonnngg call with DM. They have several scheduled for next week though.
Linda, I think we'll be agoraphobic and germaphobic after all this! It's not like it's really going to go away until they develop a vaccine and can get it out to everyone. Thanks for the tip on Acorn. I noticed we have a free Showtime preview too. Beautiful rose!
Liz, I hope you're home by now and get some down time this weekend.
Becky, hope you're doing okay today.

Thanks for the start Karen.
Chele I had never heard of National Joe Day so I googled it. Interesting. We have had sun but it's also been hazy.We got up to 90 briefly but mainly stayed around 89.I saw that on the news. That is just awful.I am glad she was arrested. Our local Walmart has gotten really pitiful. They have bare shelves even though they have senior hour every Tuesday morning. They have been saying on Next Door even then they didn't have anything on the shelves. So I don't think they even care whether the scooters are charged or not.The compression hose are so tight.I can take them off at night and I think I'm going to start doing that.I think they will go on easier once I can take the bandage off.The only time Kenneth cooked beans in the crockpot he burned them. This was years ago.I asked him if he didn't realize he needed to add water after awhile and he said he thought he had enough but no never added water as they cooked.
Karen People in Austin aren't following the shelter in place either. They had a big gathering at Barton Springs today and last night they had to recover a body from Lady Bird Lake when she should have been at home. The new compression stockings still hurt on the right leg which I think that will get better after I take the bandage off Wednesday.I wish I could just use knee high stockings. It wouldn't be so hard to get on.I have already taken the right one off for the night. The left one doesn't bother me.I did not go out because my calf is still hurting.PT started back today and they will come 3 x week instead of 2 x like they have been.He said he didn't think I would need the whole 6 weeks but the case worker scheduled me through all of April. He had me walk in the house with the cane instead of the walker and he said I didn't even need it anymore. He had me walk a few steps in the yard without anything but he took the cane just in case.He also gave me a couple of stretches to help the calf muscle.
Linda I agree you can't cure stupid.I'm sure that is scary for DSIL.

First and foremost, Liz emailed me from the train on her way home a little while ago, so she got out relatively early. She said it has been "an incredible week of moving mountains and survival." She called herself a zombie and is hoping to get a lot of rest over the weekend. She did get a somewhat full night's sleep last night because Wally got Gary up to take him out at 1:30 am. Gary said THAT won't be happening again. I guess we'll see.
Linda, sometimes karma works quickly. Dale said there was an article in Politico about how old people should be volunteering at the hospitals. I did my stint in the back of ambulances during the AIDS epidemic so, as my late grandmother was fond of saying, "I done my time!" Sorry about DSIL's neuroma. It sounds like there may not be much they can do for her if she's on that much gabapentin. I hope they can give her some relief. I agree that the 4 year old should have been left in the car and if both adults needed to be in the office, they should have brought a 3rd adult. Hopefully you didn't get any kooties. Good possibility we will be germaphobes and a few other phobes for at least a while after this seems to be over. We saw an ad today on Roku for a Brit channel that we'll have to check out to see what they have on it.
Having the bandage off will definitely help, Becky. Like Linda said, you can't fix stupid, but it's a shame some peole can't take a hint. How young was the drowning victim at LBL? Sorry about the bare shelves at WM. Someone isn't doing the ordering properly because that shouldn't be happening. I cook beans in the IP and use less than a cup of water. Never burned any. Wonder what's going on with your calf. Is it on the same leg as the surgery? Good that you have the 6 weeks even if you don't need them--easier than getting more if they had only given you 3 or 4. I hope the calf exercise will help quickly.
Kathy, I just got an email from Sevier News that the county mayor is telling tourists to stay home. I hope they will listen but I'm not holding my breath. If they close everything except grocery stores and takeout/delivery places, maybe it will be so boring that they will leave. Did I tell you that GSMNP is totally closed as of Wednesday? No facilities, no trails, no campgrounds, no nothing. That should cut down on the out-of-towners. Good luck on the TP. Do you have a Big Lots close by? I think they have it and you can order online and do curbside pickup (they will even load it into your trunk). I'm not surprised the DM call was long. The walls have to be closing in on her.
Arya didn't sleep much today because I was busy and so was Dale. She has been very cranky since after dinner. If she doesn't settle down soon, I don't know what we're going to do with her. When she doesn't get enough sleep during the day, she can be a handful.
