June I'll join you. I've kept up with my walking and I do plan and most definitely hydrate....that being said I have adapted the new routine of adding lots of BLT's to the equation which throws off the points number and adds to the scale number. Saturday started out grand...'nuff said. It is now almost 8:30 and the kitchen is officially closed! I said those words a lot today, sigh.
Sweet dreams all.

I will think before eating and write it all down.
It is windy and cool outside with more rain expected. Not enough hot water, probably, for a soak in the tub but perhaps enough for a shower. Time will tell. Lunch will be leftovers and I am looking forward to lunch! We will have leftovers for lunch and I still need to boil drinking water after filtering the already boiled and cooled water in the huge pot on the stove.
Last night I finished a book written by three authors that took me away for the day. Some of the characters appeared in all three novella length stories and the book was about 264 pages but it was fun. The women had all been in foster care, two of the couples had a second chance romance and the first in the book had a woman running with a child and a nice place to find shelter. It was a nice escape and easy to read. Next book up - for today - is book two in the Arliss Cutter series - STONE CROSS by Marc Cameron. I liked book one's main character better than Lee Child's Jack Reacher so looking forward to reading this to see what Arliss is up to next.
We talked to family and heard their news - not much news. Everyone is concerned about the virus but my daughter is on 80 acres of land and safe. My son is working from home and will be going in to the office two days with four off and rotating with two others to be at the business while workers work in CDC mandates conditions - his wife is working full time as an RN in radiology and their department had divided so one team/area is for in-patient and the other for out-patient. My sister and her husband head to San Francisco today or tomorrow and she will shelter in a hotel while he has his surgery - she will not be allowed in at bedside this time around. I will be there for her via the internet if she needs me. She mentioned she had happy hour with her children and their partners using zoom. She has Facetime but not WhatsApp or Skype. I need to see what Zoom is and see if I should download the app.
We have a grocery list of items we would request if someone offers to go shopping but for now we are okay. Hubby still talks about going out but I just tell him no and he will say but there is not problem etc...men!
Oh...this morning I decided I wanted to have my French Press coffee in a china cup that uses a saucer. I am making French Press coffee since it uses two scoops less than when I make it in the electric coffee maker. Anyway...it was fun having the china on the table...china we bought when we married and moved to Beirut. It is Noritake blue and white floral pattern on the edges Arcadia now not made any more. I only have four dinner plates but most of the rest of the set. Who knows, I might also start using the good china soon, too
JUNE: I made vegetable soup with white beans the other day and will probably have some for dinner tonight. I hope your niece and nephew by marriage will be alright. Loved the eatsa pizza song memory you shared I believe that my cousin is going to work or her husband is so with my sister's husband in the hospital and going home to recuperate staying away from as many people as possible is probably the wisest option for cinde though it will be difficult for her to be on her own like that. Making less soup is not easy. I have found using less vegetables and a smaller pot helps because I can't put as much into a smaller pot.
BEE: Having workd Neurosurgical Intensive Care just out of nursing school I know about long stays and being in an induced coma. So glad whatever happened is all behind you now! Yum to the mulberries - we won't have any for awhile though I did see flowers on the trees, I think. I am hoping this wind won't cause too many flowering trees to lose their blossoms/fruit. You do have wonderful children and grandchildren to share those mulberries with you!
ANN: If the stocking story made you smile...you should have seen me as a nursing student on a ward handed a condom catheter and my attempts getting that thing onto the patient...I of course unrolled it and that was NOT the way to put one on and the patient was so out of it he couldn't tell me what I was doing wrong. I hope that when you talked to neighbors while walking you stayed six feet away from them! If you have potatoes you could make a shepherd's/cottage pie with the turkey though a good pot pie is hard to beat.
SUSI: It must be marvelous to get all of that fresh produce through Misfits.
MJ: I am glad you opted to stay up late watching a movie you enjoyed and also chose to not power through but instead enjoy a nap. Beautiful flowers! How nice to be in touch with WW people online. What a nice letter your leader sent to all of you!
BECKY: Glad you finally had a good night of sleep. I would continue to use the cane if you find it helps with your gait and decreases strain on your calf. Even if you don't use it much it is there should you need it. Rolling down the ted-hose is probably fine as long as they don't become more restrictive where the roll is.
LADONNA: You got stretching and walking in if you were in the yard picking up sticks. I wonder if your garden center has order online and pick up without touching sort of service. My daughter bought seeds online that she would normally buy locally because they deliver by mail still. It is interesting that you think my meals sound good. I love hearing about what all of you are preparing as it is definitely not we have here to prepare. I remember trying to figure out what to order when at the butcher's shop and thinking I should carry a diagram from a cookbook with me and point to what I wanted on the diagram.
PAM: Glad to see your post.

Ann Those BLTs can be pesky. Am glad for the company!
Becky Will be nice to "see" your church family through Zoom. Cathy Vegetarian dishes with garden fresh vegetables are always going to appeal to me. π I sneak in almost vegetarian one simple ones like navy beans cooked w/ a ham bone or all vegetable soup. Bless your DH for saying he should go, there is no problem and then listening to your wishes.
I also have check out Zoom on my to do list.
Thxfor sharing about the books. I like discovering a new series. I like the character Jack Reacher better than Alex Cross, for example. But Jack puts me in mind of a stray animal. . .
Yes, using fewer vegetables is key! Or just to plan to freeze some. I was fussing w/ myself thinking that I didn't have many empty containers. This morning it hit me-- two containers that held tomato sauce & beef stock.

Good morning all. June yes it was nice chatting and catching up. We did keep our distance Glad your found the missing containers. I've done that myself. Cathy how wonderful to have coffee in a special set. I used to have a french press. Lord only knows where that has gone. I may have given it away. Happy that your family is staying safe. Bee I'll join you in KOKO...going to concentrate on the BLT's today and try to not overdo. Becky hope you have a good zoom session with the fellowship. Waving and will CBL

June - Good plan for the day. I'll join you on the vacuuming I mopped yesterday. I attended my WW meeting via Zoom. Interesting. Ann - Glad you are able to keep up with your walking and seeing people from a distance. Weather here has been horrible. Enjoy your church service Becky Way to go Bee Cathy - I so take my free clean water for granted. Glad your family is doing as well as possible under difficult circumstances. MJ - I hope you enjoyed your nap yesterday. Yesterday I bleached the entire kitchen and the dining room floors, got some laundry done, did a great dance workout on FB and binge watched Love It or List It. I made crab imperial stuffed mushrooms for dinner. Today I watched mass (haven't done that in many years), fed the ferals, spent a little time with my sister and am enjoying my coffee. I'll do another FB workout. I love my gym instructors for doing this for us. I need to take Cheryl's mail and treats to the nursing home probably around noon and I need to get propane. If the weather clears up, Carol and I will go for a bike ride. I have enough lobster left to make a nice lobster roll and lunch will be a roast beef sub in a tub.
Little funny. I don't have weights to use at home so I ended up using 2 jars of mayo for my weights. I sent a picture to my instructor and she was highly amused.

So, I think I mentioned yesterday that Laken and her cousin left the house early to go "riding" and I wasn't sure what they had up their sleeves. I was thinking they were going to get take out sushi or maybe even ride down by the coast just to get out the house a little. Boy was I wrong. Meet the newest member of the family (avatar) Lucy June, I've not been focused either but like you not too crazy but its time to get back to the basics. We can do this. Ann, I've at least kept up with walking, too but need to do more. Nice to see friends on walks Becky, enjoy your services. Bee, great plan! Cathy, glad u were able to communicate with the family. It means so much. Thank goodness for internet. I laughed at the stocking story too! I need to find a really good book to keep my attention. If something doesn't grab me right away I usually don't stick with it. The last one I read that really engaged me was Envy by Sandra Brown and prior to that one was Where the Crawdads Sing. Love both of those. Susi, mayo works! I also watched a bit of love it or list it yesterday. Hope you can get the bike ride in.

Am back. . . My walk down the street while r walked in the back became something else. Had not invited R to go with me because his neck hurt after walking inthe mall w/ me. That walk was too fast on a hard surface wearing his tennis shoes. He said we could walk onthe bike trail if he wore his Merrill hiking boots. So we did. Kept it to just over 2 miles and addedthe short ride around the reservoir. Enjoyed the bird song, squirrel chatter, fresh air, and few wild flowers.
Susi How great for your instructors to offer their time & skills. We truly are at our best as a nation when we give of ourselves. Nice that you can enjoy your sister's company and have something to good to watch. Yep... canned goods canbesubsitute weights. Would be funny if your gymhad a FB page to post pictures like yours.
LaDonna What a cutie. . .such a sweet face. Love, love Laken's surprise. Great idea to give this pup a loving home. I figure that I could have done a whole lot worse. Would be too easy to go on anice cream or baking tear.
Regardless, god, bad,or ugly, we all start the next drink, meal, snack with the same fresh slate-- a new choice. Our day will have more choices that are healthy . ππΈπ¦
