June, we try to balance his and her meals but it’s generally what I want. Last night was grilled fish, steamed green beans and salad. Tonight he’s grilling chicken thighs he marinated yesterday and I will make the salad and sides. I seem to be cleaning daily but it is too tiring to do the entire house in one day. Our weather will be in the low 70s all week so very comfortable.
Last night we did Face Time to sing happy birthday to Charlotte who is turning 9 on the 31st. She had wanted a party but it just isn’t safe.

June looks like you and I will have the same type of Monday.
Audrey happy you got to wish Charlotte a happy birthday. Much safer that way.
I still have my list going. At some point we'll bitr the bullet and replenish.
Sleep well.

Monday is back to work from home. I will KOKO with house cleaning and work. I have some pork chops to do something with. I wish I had more vegetables but I have some frozen green beans and some carrots I can roast. I'm adding to the grocery list this week some romaine lettuce for salads.
June, good that you and R are both sharing the cooking chore. Randy will cook but seems like I've been doing it all since I've been home more lately. He cut the grass over the weekend because its hard for me to be outside right now with all the pollen. A lot of my walks this week have been indoors.
Audrey, happy birthday to Charlotte. I hope she will be able to have fun at home on her special day.

Ann, I think I'm going to try and go really early one morning this week..our local Food lion opens at 6 AM. When I was there this past Wednesday, it was around noon and there were so many people in the store it was impossible to socially distance. Hopefully at 6 in the morning it won't be too bad.

I can think before I eat, monitor and move
My sister's husband has back surgery at 7am Monday morning. I hope we can talk on Zoom or WhatsApp while he is in surgery and whenever she wants/needs to. She will not be able to be in the hospital this time and after the close call with the last surgery I know she is anxious.
Reading that all of you are cleaning so thoroughly makes me glad that my husband and I are not going out and about and don't need to worry about sanitizing our living space, washing clothes and showering when we walk in the door, etc. Is everyone cleaning and sanitizing even if they don't go out and about?
The condom catheter story...the guy in the bed was a member of our church when I was growing up...so glad he did not remember me as he was out of it!
JUNE: My husband is having some tinned fish today as he says he has not had "meat" for a few days now. We have beans most days but have not had chicken, red meat or fresh fish in the house for almost three weeks. It is fine for me but he seems to be getting a hankering. Looking at Zoom on my laptop it seems you have to schedule a time to chat while on WhatsApp you can call any time. Will see what works best for my sister and I. I have read and reviewed over 2000 books in the past few years...so many words, stories and authors! It is a great escape at the moment. How did your husband do on the two mile walk? Loved the story about the hunting dog you had that would wait at the door when he heard the gun readied. Glad you enjoyed the bubble bath
AUDREY: Interesting you have his and hers meals. I guess we do, too, except if he wants something I don't want he will fix it and I fix what I want. Too bad that Charlotte can't have a birthday party but it was nice you could talk with and sing to her on her birthday. What kind of vegetables is your husband planting and how long before they produce something to harvest?
LADONNA: I hope you can get the groceries you need and keep the distance you need to. Do they have order ahead and pick up? I am rereading paperback books as I walk in the basement. I go back and forth walking and reading avoiding the walls just in time. I am reading Smokescreen by Sandra Brown as I walk. I have read and reviewed over 2000 books over the last few years and all reviews are up on my blog. Some have been new authors that I have really loved. Genres are varied. The blog, if you are interested, is: cathygeha.tumblr.com/ Also, if you are looking for book reviews before buying a book you might enjoy looking at Goodreads: www.goodreads.com/ I read advanced reader copies and sometimes beta read for authors. What type of books do you like best? I can imagine not being ready for a puppy but am sure that Lucy will be a blessing. Is she Laken's or yours or everyone's? Will she be allowed inside as an adult or always be outside?
ANN: I had coffee in the same cup and saucer china pattern this morning, too, and used the same china for my hot cereal. It is so much prettier than the plain white Glad you were able to get the walk outside before the skies opened up.
SUSI: How fun to be doing your workouts with those who lead you when not sheltering at home.
PAM: Glad you had an OP day and enjoyed the church service.
BECKY: Hope the new knee-hi Ted-stockings are better than the old ones.
MJ: I have trouble sleeping at night when I nap during the day. That said, I either have to go to bed earlier than 4am tonight or take a nap, I think I love the idea of returning to "the good old days" at least in some ways. Enjoy!
Okay...need to write to my sister then head upstairs and get food ready for lunch. Hope you all slept well!

June, sounds like a plan. Meat and starches are what most men head for, that I know.
Audrey, your dinner sounds good. So sorry Charlotte isn't able to have a party. Maybe later in the year.
Ann, make it a good one.
LaDonna, so glad that you and Randy change out jobs and work together. Walking inside isn't the same, but it is movement. Ms Lucy is too cute.
I have got to get a hold of myself and quit gathering with foods that aren't good for me.
There are very few cakes that tempt me. BUT yesterday I was offered one that I haven't had in years --- Cajun Pecan Cake. DDIL made it and shared it with me. Isn't she sweet?
Hope AWF have a great day!

Thanks for starting us June. It's good that R cooks but you need to round out the meals a bit. Have fun cleaning. Audrey - At least you could wish Charlotte a happy birthday. Perhaps a belated birthday party? Ann -Sleep well. I'm getting my Misfits box but also starting a list for Friday. Lucy is adorable LaDonna. Cathy - Lots of prayers for your BIL and the doctors performing the surgery and your sister as she worries that she can't be there. Pecan cake. I would have a hard time refusing that Bee I am going in to work this morning. An aquarium worker will get the mail from the post office and I will deal with that and gather the payroll information to take home to work. My boss will be coming in later this morning. Another coworker will be working tomorrow and possibly Thursday. We are trying to have no more than 2 people in the office at any one time. I will definitely distribute payroll and do reports on Friday. The rest of the work I can do from home, even though printing remains a problem. I'm actually sending reports to my printer at work and deal with them when I get in. Food and exercise wise I am doing well. I may need to pick up some fresh lettuce but I am otherwise set with veggies and get my Misfits box on Friday. It's odd seeing so many new reporterss reporting from home.

Audrey That's a good system for making meals. Sending birthday wishes Charlotte's way. Hope that she can do something fun like make a play, build a pillow fort, play dress up today and have her party later.
My wash up will do double duty. I aggressively clean the entire sink & counter area after prepping poultry. Our turkey breast should be thawed today. So I waited until today to santitize the kitchen counter tops & sink.
Ann Funny how "making the list" and "making a grocery run" have a whole different context now. We have everything but odd stuff like waxed paper. But are fresh produce supply is shrinking.
LaDonna Do you have set hours for working at home or just set tasks? Have seen how the pollen just blankets outdoor surfaces in SC in the spring. Have mercy. . . It's a rough go for allergy sufferers.
Love shopping at Foof Lions. Could always find a big 'old roasting chickenthere.
Am torn about whether or not we need to hit a grocery store and the timing. Our fresh produce supply is dwindling. And I am roasting carrots & butternut squash today. If I go, then I will go on Tuesday to avoid the first of the month crowds.

Good morning. Sending up gratitude and thanks for another good sleep. It's overcast and cool out today, but no rain. Last night we had thunder and lightening along with very heavy rain and wind. Hopefully it helped to clean the air! June yes it's strange how a trip to the grocery store can raise such concern. I guess gone are the days of taking a stroll up and down the aisles and our biggest complaint used to be that unnecessary items jumped into the cart. We've decided to put off shopping for today. Maybe tomorrow...hard to say and hard to judge when others will be out and about. I have the early ours posted on the fridge Good place for it. Susi that's a great way to deal with working outside the home. AT least with less people you can 'keep your distance' Enjoy that produce. Bee I have never had pecan cake, but what's there NOT to love? I'd have a very hard time resisting that Cathy keeping DBIL and DS in my prayers. Also hoping you can get to talk and 'see' her. I often go to goodreads for book reviews. Thanks for those links LaDonna I've also switched to frozen veggies. My fresh veggie supply is dwindling. I shall also be doing the sanitizing dance today. Already did it once...first thing in the a.m. If the weather hold out, I'll be able to do the M of my PTH. Waving and wishing all an OP stress free day!

You all were busy while I was brewing typing while my tea, sipping, and thinking about you!
Cathy Many prayers for BIL & DS.
That's a lot of books! But as I think of it, I read 1-4 books a week depending on the week. Reading print books does not strain my eyes like PC reading.
R was fine. I let him set the pace, he wore his expensive hiking boots, and we limited ourselves to two miles. Was a nice diversion.
Ha ha ha . . . You are giving me more credit than I deserve. R sanitized the entire house two and half weeks ago. Mostly I wash off surfaces per normal since we have had little exposure. I knew I would be scrubbing & Clorixing the kitchen because of the turkey. So I did the bathroom yesterday.
We have had very little exposure last week. Last week R filled up his truck & took recycling to bins. He wore gloves & was never close to anyone. He drove me to Aldi's for milk, I wore gloves & zoomed through in 20 minutes keeping my distance. He stayed in the truck.
We went for a drive & a walk that did not put us in any contact with anyone.
Our biggest change is to use bar soap and wash longer making sure to get under our nails.

Bee I think it's a comfort thing. Love that your extended family is bringing you mulberries as well as cake. I bet that pecan cake was delicious.
That grocery cart is attracting some stuff that thins of stuff right now. A cartoon of Moose Track tried to jump inmy cart last week. I had to scoot it back to the cooler and tell it "Not today ice cream, not today."
