June Probably a good idea to take over the cooking.Men do seem to like meat and starches.
Audrey I agree it's hard to doing all the cleaning in one day.Happy Birthday to Charlotte.Nice you could sing HB to her via Face Time.
LaDonna It's been hard for me to find the kind of fresh lettuce I want in the grocery store.Hopefully you can find some romaine. The pollen is bad here also.
Cathy Prayers for your sister's DH for his surgery. It is a shame she can't go to the hospital. These are actually compression socks and they do feel better than the TED stockings. They are keeping the swelling away so they will just have to do.Wednesday I will be able to remove the bandage so it should feel much better then.
Bee I understand having to quit gathering with foods that aren't good for us.That cake does sound really good.I would find it hard to resist on that one.

Susi It's good only 2 people will be in the office at one time.I agree on the news reporters reporting from home. One of our local channels only has one news anchor in the studio.
June It is best to avoid first of the month shoppers. My produce stash is gone.I need fruit and lettuce plus misc items.
Ann Glad you slept well.We had thunder and rain last evening. We are expecting a 80-90% chance of rain from 1-6 this afternoon. It's kinda nice since it's only 61.
June I'm glad R did well on the walk.
I lost the rest of my surgery bloat when I weighed this morning. My knee is still swollen and according to home health it could for 3 months or more.
My little town has their first presumptive case of COVID-19.

Good morning, all!
Prayers continue for all ailing and/or stressed posters and loved ones... and thank you for your prayers for me and my family... especially for the Mouseketeer... and for Son#1 and DSonIL.
Becky, I'm glad that the new compression socks are doing an adequate job so you can be more comfortable as rehab continues. I am so impressed by your progress!
ππ΅ππππ΅π <miss my monkeys> ππ΅ππππ΅π.
There's supposed to be a break in the rain and temps are milder, so a walk is on my agenda. Toots? He wants to start prepping a rogue butterfly bush for transplant to its new home.
The superintendent of schools sent out a survey last Friday and one of the questions was about continuing classes through the upcoming (4/10-4/17) Spring Break. Both of OUR households replied NO. MissMouse (in our family round-robin text yesterday) pretty much went on a rant/vent about needing a break from trying to teach at the same time as trying to maintain the work of her DayJob. I will be interested in seeing what comes up next.
Some of our local small restaurants (and the big diner, as well) have closed temporarily. Rumor is that the Chinese restaurants were having supply problems. The big diner is sort of a surprise, but they had a big restaurant footprint and take-out/counter service had not been "big" there for years. Our favorite Italian take-away place, open last Tuesday, was closed (with sign) yesterday. Fortunately, there are still enough places to provide food for our first responders and emergency services personnel.
Last night's sleep was another odd one. My sleep has been "disturbed" for the last few nights, nap or not. I'm now wondering whether this is A Phase related to LITTOP (Life In The Time Of Pandemic) and that it will settle out as "I" settle into my new normal. Last week I reached a watershed moment - "this isn't going away any time soon" - it is settling in as REAL LIFE and since it has no clear starting point, midpoint, or point at which rebuilding/rehab/recovery can begin, there truly is only Living In The NOW. I'm not used to living in a NOW that doesn't also tag onto a THEN - a plan for something in the future. I think the irregularity in my sleep is Parts of me adjusting to that.
Coffee... βββ... morning prayer...
ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·π Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·ππ·π

Popping in before we go for our walk. Not raining so I should take advantage of that. MJ I'm sure that your sleep pattern IS due to all that we are now going through. It's not easy getting used to so many 'new normals' I thought I had a handle on that one...come to find out, I don't! Hang in there ((hugs)) Becky that is great the new stockings are bringing you some relief. Also happy your 'surgery bloat' is gone Nice when the scale finally resets itself. In my case, I'm finding my weight ever so s l o w l y in the upward swing. Yesterday I was extra careful...and still had a slight blip in the scale. Could be that my walking wasn't up to snuff. I'm good with it, as I'm still in my 'happy zone'. Time to get a move on.

I have confirmed with Toots that he ONLY lives "in the NOW" and has absolutely NO IDEA what I'm talking about / how I feel. At least I can tell him this, and that I am "having a moment" regarding this-or-that and he will respect it. But he has no idea how to deal with it or help me through it, so I must content myself with his acceptance of my being so different in perspective. So, as in many things, we have agreed that "opposites attract" and life goes on.

diva49, Great way to put it. TG Carl and I are on the same page. The present is all we can deal with...the past, our past is gone and the future? Who knows what will happen. Using all energy trying to hold onto the present. Take care all.

Cathy, I hope your DBILβs surgery went well today and that he has a good recovery. DH has planted baby lettuce and arugula, radishes, yellow and green squash, Swiss chard, green beans, eggplant and a few varieties of tomatoes. The lettuce and radishes will mature first. Next month he will plant cucumbers.
Iβll try to respond to other posts later Iβve walked twice and went to the bank and mailbox store. I need to fold clothes and empty the dishwasher before lunch.

Cathy, I like a book that can surprise me! I like to be able to say I never saw that coming! Lucy is getting spoiled rotten. She's supposed to be a yard dog at some point but I'm starting to have my doubts LOL None of the online grocery pick ups are available right now.
Bee, Unfortunately I love sweets. But, like you I have to stop hanging out with food not good for me! So far so good today.
Susi, do you have a printer you can bring home or will your office order you one? I brought one home and its so nice having it here. I can't print checks on it though.
June, I have to be available during normal office hours. I have enough to keep my busy during those times, too. Its hard to buy up fresh produce for a long amt of time. I am in the same boat here. LOL to giving the ice cream the look!!
Becky, Yay on the WL! Sorry about your Covid case in your town. They are saying there is 2 in my town but most likely more than that.
MJ, is the super giving a choice? Our governor has said our schools are to be closed thru 4/30. I don't believe we have a choice.
Ann, I'm also trying to hold on the the present - anything else is just too mind boggling. Yay to a walk with no rain.
Audrey, the vegetable sound wonderful I know they will be delicious.

MJ, is the super giving a choice? Our governor has said our schools are to be closed thru 4/30. I don't believe we have a choice. This is a vote (or at least an opinion) about skipping Spring Break and having virtual learning during those days, as opposed to "being OFF" with no lessons. The teaching/learning days gained by this would be cut off the closing date in June. The brick & mortar schools are closed UFN per governor's order.

diva49, gotcha. I misunderstood. Our transportation and food service dept is still going to provide meals for students during spring break but no class. I feel like everyone needs a break that week.

I feel like everyone needs a break that week. Ditto! While it's certainly challenging for the teachers to prepare the lessons, it can be even MORE challenging for parents to try to guide their offspring, whether or not the parent is currently WFH.

I agree that everyone in school needs a break. It is extremely hard for working parents with no support to also do home schooling. Leo and Nora want to do crafts like building bird houses. Several of our higher end restaurants are now selling market items like produce and even TP they get from suppliers who do not deliver to grocery stores. They offer on line ordering and curbside pickup. La Donna, the pollen is awful here but I just put up with it. Cathy, I canβt imagine reading 2000 books and I love to read. Bee, I think we all agree the Cajun pecan cake was a worthy treat Ann, I think the best grocery shopping days are mid week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Becky, congratulations on losing the surgery bloat. I am so sorry your small town was not spared from Coronavirus. Bob may have to work at the office because he is having a difficult time accessing office files. Our Wi-Fi and computer speed have been horrible since so many people are working from home. I clean but donβt sanitize as much as others.
