Day 31 Decide About Drinking
Whether or not to drink alcohol is a personal choice. If you decide to drink alcohol you need to plan on how to fit it into your food plan.
According to Beck alcohol has 7 calories per gram which is about twice the 4 calories per gram of protein and carbs. Mixers for drinks often are caloric too so mixed drinks can end up being a lot of calories. She points out that if you eat less to be able to drink you could rebound by eating more later because you are hungry. You can also end up overeating because alcohol lowers your inhibitions.
Beck feels that if you don’t plan ahead about your drinking of alcohol you can easier end up drinking too much.
If you want to include drinking alcohol in your food plan she suggests you list the advantages and disadvantages and figure out how to fit it in.
Do you plan on drinking alcohol? If you do how do you fit it in?
Do you have sabotaging thoughts about drinking alcohol? How do you handle them?

I don't drink alcohol now because it bothered my depression.

I don't really drink. I have the occasional cordial glass of moscato and that's about it.

Do you plan on drinking alcohol? If you do how do you fit it in? I don't always plan for it but have in the past. When I would plan on the two for one margarita once a month I would eat accordingly before going out that evening. I also would, first time around with WW, budget for a margarita and tostada lunch one day each week - it was my me-time splurge day. Not so much any more though I do track the points and work it into the week/day.
Do you have sabotaging thoughts about drinking alcohol? How do you handle them? Not really...if I have wine it is my choice and I enjoy it, write it down and that is that.

I plan my wine consumption, Friday and Sat. only and work it into my plan. I never drink alone.

I plan for wine/cocktails on weekends, or when we’re entertaining or dining out. So for now......weekends it is!!!!

luvvinlife, I know. "Careening" used to be "careering". Careening was scrapping the barnacles off the hull of a ship. "Chomping at the bit" was originally "champing at the bit". A horse champs the bit, especially if it has a roller on it - as many bits do. But language is dynamic or we'd all be speaking Olde English right now.
