This is a thread devoted to those in their 50s & 60s and beyond who don't have children or grandchildren but live rich, full lives. Please feel free to join our stroll thru life and come back often for support and to share. ******************************************************* Here's a tool that can help you check how your area is doing at social distancing down to a county level Social Distancing Tool. For us, the good news is that our closest county scored an A for decreasing its social distancing by 44%. The bad news is the county where we pay our taxes and the one that Dale is in right now buying groceries both got an F. And I don't think either of those are doing much testing, so it may be more rampant there.

Karen, thanks for the start. I haven’t had a chance to watch 9-1-1 yet, have you? Did Dale go out to the infected area yet? I hope he takes care.
Linda, I am glad you finally got what you needed with the blood test. Thanks for the cartoons and new song lyrics. It’s nice to get a chuckle 🤭.
Becky, are you as sore as anticipated after your PT session yesterday? Score on the TP!
Liz, has the hospital ship helped the situation? I saw the throngs of people around it mot practicing social distancing.
Kathy, any Jazzercise today? How is DN doing with all this? Is he studying online?
I keep reading about people in Canada and US going on a rent strike tomorrow due to lay offs etc. I wonder how that is going to turn out.
We had the AC tech doing yearly maintenance and changing the filter. We are set for summer. He wore a mask, gloves and paper booties while in the house.

Linda, I hope the USNS Comfort will provide some relief for our Liz. It sounds like the local hospitals will still be getting the coronavirus cases and the other stuff will be going to the ship, Javits, or other pop-up locations. Makes sense because the ventilation systems at the local hospitals have to be far superior to a convention center or a tent.
Hope you're not feeling too badly after yesterday's PT session, Becky. Have you left the house?
Kathy, are you still feeling the heat? How many days a week are you doing Jazzercise?
Congrats on the AC maintenance, Chele. I'm sure those guys are big time into protective gear right now. I'm not sure the rent strikes will allow much social distancing. Is the carnivore maintaining his distance? Did he and the office staff get furloughed, leading to the additional time underfoot? Dale did make it back safely from germland and we have salad again, so that's a good thing. I had him put his clothes directly into the washer and immediately did a power wash.
Liz, are you feeling any relief from the extra help you are supposed to be getting?
As of midnight tonight, TN will be under a "safer at home" order. Why didn't the governor do it sooner? He said he didn't want to take the chance of trompling anyone's civil liberties. Yes, he is extremely right wing conservative. Apparently civil liberties are more important than life.I wonder how many people who voted for the guy have been having second thoughts through this. Anyway, both my car and hair appointments for April have been canceled. Our number of positive cases increased over 400 between Monday and yesterday, so even with the order in place, we'll have at least 2 more weeks of numbers going up, provided people stay home. Am I the only one who has noticed that grocery stores aren't having sales or weekly ads right now? There were only about 10 items on our list and it still cost over $55. I guess they don't need to discount prices on anything right now.

Karen, Kroger and GFS still have specials, but not as many. Kroger has a disclaimer that items in weekly ad may not be available in all stores. I have noticed the bill has gone up. I am glad Dale made it back okay. A lot of states are behind on the stay at home orders. I still have an appointment at the end of April for haircut but since the stay at home orders have been extended to the end of April, I won’t be going. The AC tech’s wife is a hair stylist and has seen customers at home. I am not doing that. I have hair pins to keep my hair back. The carnivore stayed away because we were expecting an “outsider.” The office staff has not yet been furloughed.

Thanks for the start Karen. Travis County got an A and I don't know how. They have a 49% compliance but Adler says that's not enough.I haven't liked him in the past but he has really stepped up in this case.
Cheryl Yes I was very sore and today has been a more painful day for some reason but thank goodness I can take off the bandage tomorrow. We made a quick stop in Walmart today and they had lots of Angel Soft TP so I got another 4 roll package. They are limiting it to one 4 roll package which I'm glad.We didn't go to the senior hour there but I was really surprised they seemed to be so stocked.People last week were complaining they weren't stocked well and they only have senior hour once a week.
Karen I was very sore last night and maybe after going out 2 days in a row which is something I have stopped doing is making it hurt more today.I was lucky to snag the only charged scooter Walmart had.I'm thinking tomorrow I will send Kenneth with a list to HEB since I will have PT again.I sure didn't want to go to both stores in one day.He needed gas for the PU and diesel for the tractor also.Governor Abbott came just short of a stay at home order. It's called a essential services only order. Bastrop County does go into basically the same thing at 11:59 tonight but they had already announced that last night.Ours is called stay at home, stay safe.HEB has it listed on their online app to serve more people better they aren't having ads right now.

Karen, thanks for the reminder on the social distancing site. It looks like my county went from an F to an A after the stay at home order went into effect. The interesting thing is that Seminole County is showing the same thing even though they didn't do the stay at home order. I think most of the major employers are in Orange, so that probably affected both counties. They just started the live Jazzercise, so I don't exactly have a regular schedule with it yet. It is still hot, but we have a "cold" front coming in tonight that will take us back to the 80s.
Will Florida's governor be the last to issue a stay at home order? He finally issued one to South Florida. I'm glad our mayor took charge and did it for our county. The Publix here seems to be continuing their specials, but they aren't all available via delivery. Supposedly, I "saved" around $30 on my last order. There were some BOGOs. The delivery prices are a little higher on some things, so any savings would be wiped out by the higher prices.
Chele, DN is doing classes online. He lives with two other guys and they're playing lots of video games and I suspect they're getting lots of takeout food. It's hard to imagine going through something like this in my college days. We rarely stayed home. Glad you got your AC maintenance. My unit is in the garage and the thermostat is by the front door, so they won't have to come in far. They always make you sign on their iPad though, so I hope they've changed that policy.
Waving to all.

.unless you get in a line before store opens, you do not find toilet paper here. People line up early for that. better to go much later. And someone who went early to Costco today for senior time said there were hundreds in line only a cart apart. Today our state goes to stay in place and some people are panicking. we were one of seven who had not done it.
I had to finally go to Sprouts for produce, milk and bread. not many people and I got a lot of stuff.
Only by the yogurt area two mommies with their older grade school kids stood close yakking while the kids touched everything and bumped each other. I finally asked if I could get space to go through and they said OH.
two women visit our little park with their four toddlers and a man every morning. I see kids dropped off up the street for play dates. Moms need to get with it.
Took forever to place the groceries to sit for a few days or go to back of fridge to get washed and dumped into glass containers for fridge. I fondly remember when we complained about just dragging it in and putting it away.
I did a little work in the garden...adding drip lines to veggie pots.
DH ordered his favorite wine for curbside pickup and it is sitting for a few days untouched. Wine from Italy may get hard to fund I think. He is now at vet for curbside pickup prepaid of Micki's Apoquel which he is starting to need.
More than enough adventure for the week.
Leftover Mexican for supper.

I got an email from Liz. Things are as bad (or worse) as we suspected they would be and the pressure is mounting for her. There's a reason we didn't hear from her over the weekend because she was working from home for most of it. On top of everything, one of her neighbors died of the virus today. That's hitting way too close to home.
I'm glad some of you are still saving at the grocery store. Chele. Dale got everything on our list. We didn't need TP, but he said they seem to be restocked. I've seen your governor on TV several times since last week and he seems to be doing a good job. Is that what you think as well? Good that the office staff hasn't been furloughed. Have you watched 9-1-1? Quite a surprising ending. I'm sure "Howie" realized something was amiss.
Becky, I know what you mean about Travis County's A. I didn't expect Sevier County to get an A either, given that only one of the 6 towns has a "stay at home" order. I guess they grade on the curve. LOL Congrats on the Angel Soft. You need to give yourself a little time to get back to the regular routine. It's actually a good time to be recovering so you have an excuse. I hope tomorrow's PT won't be too tortuous and enjoy shedding the bandage.
Amazing that you still don't have a "stay at home" order, Kathy, but it took our guy this long, so we can hope yours will come to his senses soon, epecially since FL may be the next epicenter.
UPS delivered my replacement shoes today and I think they are going to work well. Can't believe they are a 10.5 when my normal size is a 9. But I'm glad I didn't go with a 10 instead. I'll be trying them out on the treadmill in the morning.
